what if stranger things took place in new hampshire lol
>>217155496Holly spin off when?
/ourguy/ won
>>217155667A spinoff starring Nancy just got cancelled.
>>217155212This was such a cop out. You can tell they meant for Vecna to be the big bad but realize nobody liked that so they then awkwardly tried to walk it back hoping to have their cake and eat it, too. It would've made much more sense if the Midn Flayer had just been screwing with Henry since he was a kid, probably because his parents had been involved in one of Brenner's earlier experiments or maybe the Operation Paperclip experiments where they put chemicals like fluoride in the water (people forget but originally the MK Ultra connection was more overt and a big deal.)
>>217155700Kek the fallout is going to wipe all of their spinoffs off the map except for (maybe) the cartoon, but with how things have been going nowadays they might just scrap that, too. Especially if they only made a teaser and haven't actually started on it yetThey did exactly what the GoT guys did: rushed and phoned in the ending of their big meal ticket because they had dollar signs in their eyes with all the spin offs and new projects they thought they were owed and were a sure thing, then found out tanking your rep and the only thing you had to show you were "good" is a bad idea and makes everything else dry up.
>>217155496>Retcon the upside down to be a nothing burger>Kill off the upside downWhat the fuck were they thinking? Now they cant make any more spinoffs. And if they do it will be limited to the few years it was there and shoehorned alongside the eleven and co. story.
for me, it's murray's whopping penis
>>217155700Was there ever any proof there was one? Duffers said their spinoff had nothing to do with Hawkins or the UD. The only other official shit is the 1985 cartoon.
That one inbred looking kid was an aggressive little shit. I hope his parents get drunk and beat him often.
Let's recap all the plot holes this season:> Mind Flayer coming back> Five year old Henry tanking a gunshot from a chrome plated .44 Magnum that would make Dirty Henry blush instead of it exploding hiss hand and making him scream and cry in pain> Holly Wheeler aging four years in 12 months> Why is the air in the Upside Down and Abyss not toxic anymore when it explicitly caused health problems previously > Why are they able to just enter the Upside Down willy nilly now when previously any time someone tried to enter they were almost immediately murdered> How did Dr. Brenner have a detailed notebook about the Upside Down being a wormhole supported by "exotic matter" before the Upside Down even existed (there wouldn't be a copy of it in the Upside Down if it didnt exist at the moment of its creation)> Robin and Steve taking over the radio station even though the preview DJ's should not only still be around but the military would probably want to control their airwaves since she's just broadcasting top secret info on FM airwaves for miles out> The Flesh wall that never existed before > "He peed on it! That means he must know something about it!"> Why would they have a military base in the Upside Down, an extremely hostile and toxic warzone filled with creatures they have no defense against?> How did a woman become not only a medical doctor but a five star general with above top secret clearance when she would've had to have begin tbisncareer in the 1920's?> Why does the Mind Flayer need Henry?> How did suitcase guy get a rock from the Abyss?> Why would he think that a five year old boy scout was secretly a secret agent assassin?> No one thought about what if the radio tower didn't line up with a gate?> Why did Dustin want him and Steve to use the spears when last time he and Eddie got immediately BTFO because they weren't effective weapons> Where are the bats? Last time the second they entered the Upside Down they were just swarmed with themAny others?
>>217155761This is true but on the off chance they ever get a spin off they'll just pull: "Somehow the Upside Down has returned."
>>217155850Oh, "Henry's map." How did that even make sense? It was obvious they just wanted to pull a JJ Abrams and rip off the Goonies. He cut a weird little shake into the cover of his telescope: how is that supposed to be a map? It would only work if you already knew to go to the cave in the first place, and at that point what's the point? It would maybe make sense if there was some kind of riddle cypher that lead you there first but why would Henry even need the "map" he obviously knew how to get there. Also why would he be afraid of going into the cave if he willingly cooperates with the Mind Flayer and kills people all the time? Thst should be one of his happiest memories.
>>217155829She doesn't look bad in motion
>>217155892A few more:1. Why does Vecna need twelve kids? It seems arbitrary and pointless (even according to the Duffer's there's "no reason") so why was it a big deal Holly got away? 2. Why does he need the kids anyway? How does putting his mind powers into them accomplish anything? They actually never specify why Vecna needed those kids specifically. Anons have theorized that they're latent psychic or sensitive but that's never actually stated in the show.3. Why does Vecna have to do his plan on the anniversary of the day he kidnapped Will? It's like they were going to do some kind of "it's during a total solar eclipse!" plotline but forgot to add that part in, and there were many opportunities: Not only was there a Total Solar Eclipse in 1987 there was also an annual solar eclipse, a Lunar Eclipse that lasted two days, they also discovered a Supernova that year. Imagine if they had made it so that the final battle/collapse of the Upside Down had resulted in Supernova 1987, that would have at least been kind of cool and tied it to a real life event from the year. There were also two meteor showers that year they could've used instead. There was also a "mass meditation event" called Harmonic Convergence where a bunch of people meditated at the same time. They could've had Vecna exploit that for psychic energy to try to break the veil between worlds and if they wanted to use artistic license have that result in the supernova.4. Why does Will just "steal Vecna's power" but not have any of his own? They say it's because he "interacted with the hive mind" then left but it still lingers but the whole way that Henry got his powers now is that he was "touched" by the Abyss so shouldn't Will have been turned into another Henry?
Why are you still making generals for this kids show?
Objective ranking of the show:Season 1 > Season 3 > Season 2 > Season 5 Vol. 1 > Season 4 > Season 5 Vol 2Season 1 remains the GOAT. It has the most sincerity, sticks to the aesthetic the most faithfully, and the characters have the most depth and actually sound plausible in addition to being the most grounded season and feeling like it actually takes place in a small town in the Midwest and it plays into a lot of tried and true tropes (born hot yesterday love interest, I've got a girl in my room, disheveled sheriff with a dark past, sinister government laboratory, wholesome ragtag kids, etc) A big part of this is probably because they stole most of it from the guy doing the Montauk Project. 9/10
>>217156051Season 3 despite being hated here is a high point for me: it's a course correction from Season 2's meandering, the aesthetic and costumes are top tier, we actually get the cast mostly together all season and some teenaged hormones as well as Dustin and Steve being at their high point for their dynamic duo, and the mall is honestly a fun setting. We also get more Billy and a really sinister villain that hinted at heights and payoff that sadly never came. Erica and Robin while annoying signs of problems to come were mostly fun additions that could've been forgiven had they been one off one season wonders and future seasons returned to focusing on the main cast. Hopper and Joyce had a fun sidequest even if ultimately the Russian plotline ended up being a misstep and despite Murray being retroactively insufferable due to his Zionist actor it was fun watching he and Alexei become friends this season. Hopper beating up the mayor and being an angey Dad was fun as well. Only downsides are Will's very sidelined with an annoying subplot this season (that really doesn't make sense considering they all join Hellfire next season), Nancy was a bit insufferable this season, the writers began torpedoing her and Jonathan's relationship, there was no reason to send the Byers plus El to California, and Robin unexpectedly being a giant dyke for no reason at all. Also Hopper should've either stayed dead or at the very least they should've let us believe he was between seasons because spoiling that at the end took a lot of wind out of the season's sails. 8/10
>>217156059Season 2. Where to begin? A weird and out of place beginning segues into a fun arcade scene and a first episode that might update us on all the characters but ultimately feels rather blah. The season had some highlights (introducing Max and Billy, Dart, Dustin and Steve's newfound friendship, Dustin and Nancy's dance, Eleven finding her Mother) but ultimately a lot of the season jaut meanders and the episodes don't really stand up on their own on an episode to episode comparison. There's never a big wow moment for this season outside of the tease of the Mind Flayer at the very end and when it first possesses Will. It did set up a lot of potential that never paid off, and I was sad to see Bob go but other than that there were a lot of problems. The season feels like it's always waiting to start because we're waiting for El to reunite with the cast, We start getting girl boss problems, Will gets sidelined with nothing to do, the Demo dogs feel like a massive downgrade from the Demogorgon who is sorely missed this season, the forced blackening of the new girl, and the Nancy live triangle doesn't make any sense and just wastes screen time that could've better been used on other things, triply so for the obnoxious sister episode. 6/10.Season 5 Vol 1. While very stupid is at least slightly more entertaining than Season 4. We get a lot of dumb moments but thankfully the plot holes don't really kick in until the next half. Biggest downside is seeing 8 return after they wrote her off in shame in seasons 3 & 4.
>>217156066Season 4. What even happened. The episodes are too long, Vecna's backstory and retcons are stupid. We don't get enough of the lynchmob subplot and we don't see El integrates into tbe Byers family. Eddie while an alright new character is ultimately needless and wouldve better served as a plot for Will. The plotnisntoo global and takes us completely out of the small town vibe, Jonathan and Will are sidelined all season and once again El is separated from the whole cast for the whole season. Ultimately it's a longer and messier version of Season 2 thankfully without the sister nonsense.Season 5 Vol 2 just complete garbage.
i miss him bros. it should have been nancy instead. and jonathon. and lucas. and will.
>>217156051> 4 that low>4 even above 3Delulu
>>2171560511 > 4 > 2 > 3 > 5
Nell Fisher isn't great. She has that nepo baby face and an extremely limited range because her pampered lifestyle means she's never experienced a strong range of emotions and most likely has a certain demeanor drilled into her from etiquette lessons. This becomes glaring when she's required to emote, be it yelling or trying to be emotional, and even when just delivering lines. She's the same age the kids were in Season 1 but looks like shes prepped for an Instagram photo or TikTok constantly. The other kids this season have no trouble making you believe they're children but she only gets by on her wardrobe & hair/makeup that makes her look more like a model than the 7-10 year old she's supposed to be. I have no doubt she'll be astroturfed for some time as her parents have the connections for auditions and money to pay her way in as producers but I don't see her ever reaching the heights of a truly memorable star. Instead I'm sure she'll flounder around for a year or two appearing in commercials and maybe one or two lighthearted dramas, maybe they'll pull out the famous: "girl has to live with her irresponsible but cool Dad" movie so many other young actresses have passed through or shove her in a Mark Wahlberg comedy. If she's very fortunate she'll land in a blockbuster like MBB did though that's less likely considering she won't quite have the hype behind her that she and Wolfhard did. In about 3 or 4 years when she's just about or freshly turned 18 she'll do a series of risque photoshoots, and we'll see a couple years of articles with headlines saying "Nell Fisher INSERT ATTENTION GRABBING THING HERE" and perhaps she'll get paired up in a dumb celebrity relationship and either do a sex scene or star in a raunchy comedy, but after that I imagine she'll just float around going to Hollywood parties and spending her trustfund taking random roles here and there to replenish her fun money. I don't imagine we'll ever see a timeless performance from her.
>>217156059the johnathon-nancy breakup shouldve happened s2agree with what u said though. s3 is goated
>>217156163>>217156176Have you rewatched them recently? 4 was much higher for me until I sat down and binged the whole show from start to finish over the last few days to go into season five with everything fresh and I found 4 to be a massive letdown and a slog on rewatch. The mystery and COVID boredom were really were the magic was at for that season. It just doesn't hold up anymore and the fact that they spent so much money on it is absurd.
>>217156240Yes I watched for Season 5. All the seasons are good except for 5 which is just fine.
Stranger things a show about kids raped into being gay
>>217156230I agree. She should've ended season 1 with Jonathan, broken up with him by Season 2 (which would've made her dance with Dustin more poignant), and possibly gotten back together with either him or Steve in Season 3 (either works: it would've been fun to see them butting heads as exes and coworkers but it would've also been really nice to just cut Robin out of the story and have Nancy take her place - especially since she would've teamed up with him AND Dustin and they already had their moment in Season 2 plus he was the one that missed when she used to dress up like an elf and play D&D with them. Robin could've been a smaller role that just helped them translate the Russian or Nancy could've reached out to Murray for help with that.)
>>2171562404 was when the show stopped pretending it could be Spielberg with the kids as old as they are. I think it had a great handle on the characters (besides robin), ratcheted up the stakes and established a good enough big bad. It was the layup that 5 lazily knocked in the hoop.
>>217156309If it were up to me I'd make the following adjustments to Season 2 overall:> Scrap the sister stuff entirely> Move the beginning of episode 2 (Eleven in the Upside Down) to the beginning of episode 1 (replacing the bank heist) and have it end with Eleven being chased by a Demogorgon as she reaches the gate, making it ambiguous if she escaped until the end reveal that she lives with Hopper.> Have Eleven rejoin the cast earlier.> Have Mike and Eleven split off from the party to go meet her Mom together> Scrap the Dig Dug scene and instead have Max stumble across Dustin and Steve and tag along refusing to leave because she's stubborn and begrudgingly accepted because Dustin has a crush on her and Steve's trying to help him out (keeping the love triangle teased between her, Dustin, and Lucas for longer.)> Have Lucas be the one that accompanies Will to the lab> Have Will have an out of body experience and trying to communicate with everyone through the lights while he's possessed and possessed Will be staring at him creepily from time to time when he makes progress> Have possessed Will be more of a menace when other characters aren't looking (like what they retconned he did in flashbacks this season)> Instead of a pack of Demodogs ambushing the scientists in the tunnel it's the Demogorgon> Have Dart die trying to save Dustin from the Demogorgon
>>217156262Alright. I disagree but respect your opinion. There are things I like about it but I think knowing how it worked out I could just see too many problems they made creatively and just couldn't accept it. I think the actors (minus maybe Noah) all did great but the writers needed to tweak things quite a bit. Even just forcing themselves to stick to the standard episode length of 40-50 minutes they could've done an 18-19 episode season with how much runtime they used. I also feel like the episodes are so long with so many plotlines that by the time you get to the end of the episode of you try to think back to what happened this episode or the previous you can't quite remember it clearly. It makes it harder for the episodes to stand out as a solo effort compared to the other seasons where you can say: "this was THAT episode" and they were all a lot more impactful. If they were going to do a season with double to triple/quadruple length episodes they should've saved it for the last season. I think it could be excised more for the "final adventure" and would've even been more of a justification for the dumb release schedule they did since each drop would've evened out to about a regular season's length and the finale would've been the length of a ragherong movie with the budget to back it as well (2 and a half hours and over a billion dollar single episode budget) then they would've at least been able to justify the busget and possibly make it back.Just a misfire all around.
>>2171560511>3>5>4>2 for meSeason 4 would be above 5 if it weren't for the Russian prison escape side plot. I'll take the plot holes of season 5 over that stuff any day.As for season 2, its just way too slow. I could never make it past episode 3 or 4. I just skipped the rest and watched a summary.
>>217156316I'll agree that's when the6 dropped the pretense. Before they were pretty vocal about their "Stephen King meets Steven Spielberg" vibe but that was them just dropping both and going for whatever it was they were going for. I can't help but think how much better each season would be if they had just cranked them out at a yearly pace. Not only because they wouldn't have been as effected by woke writing but also because the kids just veing a certain age would sell things much more. Like for example in Season Five the kids are supposed to be the age the actors actually were in Season 3. Imagine the scenes with Mike and Nancy in the hospital if it was still little Fin or when Hopper is freaking out about Eleven outting herself in danger. Just from the fact that they'd actually be kids it would sell it to you on an instintual level, but the cast all looks like they're pushing 30 so it doesn't hit the same.
>>217156368What’s wrong with the prison escape plot and how is it worse than the under the mall russian base plot or fat Hopper yelling at everyone?
>>217156399My taste gravitates towards what they were trying to do with the first three seasons, but I thought 4 did a good job growing out of it at the right time, and it also felt like a ship righting to me for the most part because S3 is exactly as goofy as ST can get before it breaks.
why did they bring russia into this bros
>>217156085The only good part of season 4
>>2171564613 was a fork in the road figuring out what they wanted to do with the rest of the series tonally, it was the most “80s” one. The Rocky IV of Stranger Things. And in that respect, adding in cold war pulp was a reasonable place to go for that season. Once it was set up, it got paid off the next season.
>>217156401It was Boring, I just didn't care, and I found the Russian characters to be annoying and generic. Also Brett Gelman.
>>217156368Quite a good ranking. I almost did the same but some Anons dragged me for trashing on season 2 and after rewatching 4 I realized I did enjoy season 2 more than 4 this time around despite its flaws. I almost put 5 above 4 but the second half was just too bad for me to do so. I really didnt feel right breaking it up like that but it's how I feel. If I had to I'd put 4 above five though overall even though the first half was a bit more enjoyable overall the second half ruins it and season four despite its flaws isn't that bad.
>>217156494Fair enough, it was a more grounded plotline besides Murray’s Karate stuff. I enjoyed the idea of the gladiator arena, I like prison escape stuff, and it was a return to form for me for Hopper who I thought was unsalvageably flanderized in 3. But I can understand why that escapade feels different from the rest of the show in a negative way for you.
I really think people sleep on 2 it’s so comfy. Outside of the weird detour episode it’s a good time.
>>217155829S-S-S-S-SMOKING
>Vecna chose to be evil.
>>217156566Despite having inner conflict, he prefers power and revenge, yes.
>>217156401In a vacuum it's a good plot and even entertaining but overall it just messed with the vibe too much. It's supposed to be a show about weird stuff happening in a small town in the Midwest and that weird stuff is supposed to be local legends and rumors turning out to be true. S4 takes you right out of that and makes it quite literally a global adventure, and not the fun around the world in 80 days kind. Some of the cast are in Russia, some are in CA/UT, some in NV, and some are in Hawkins or the Upside Down but even when they're in Hawkins it feels like it takes a back seat to the plot. I don't really know how to justify the mall because it seems to be a love it or hate it thing so if you don't love it its just not for you. I did love it and it not only felt very 80's but reminded me of my own small town mall and felt very true to life. You could say the Russian thing was too much but I disagree. It would've made sense that it was just the USA government guys making a new base in secret after getting kicked out of the lab (and I'd be fine with that) but I'll say the Russian stuff was very on brand for the 80's (this is when Red Dawn came out and was probably a reference to that) but also the little town that Dick Garmaker is from was said to have a bunch of Russian sleeper cells move there in secret after WW2 and start a local business as a cover story and there's even a detective thriller that takes that concept and turns it into a whole entertaining story so that seems on brand for "small town legend turns out to be true" while also keeping with the 80's vibes. As for Hopper I guess it comes down to personal tastes but I kind of like his overbearing Dad routine, and the fact that he's the voice of reason when the kids are getting a little too whimsical with throwing themselves into action movie scenarios or D&D metaphors. I also found it hilarious watching him seethe during the Neverending Story bit which made that all great set up for that joke.
>>217156579No he's brainwashed the stone is the cause of it.
>>217156461They really didn't need to (especially since it amounted to nothing and added in a new plot hole of "what about the Russians who can also enter the Upside Down and make gates to the Abyss?") but I think if it has been a one season a occurrence it would've been fine and you could maybe make the argument they had to be in Hawkins for some reason to do it/the guys who knew how to died in the explosion.Unfortunately that then leads to the question of why do the Russians at all and not just have it be the Hawkins Lab guys setting up shoo under the mall after they got chased out last season with the pesticide story, and honestly that would've probably been the better route to go overall. It would've kept it tight and also made more sense with where they eventually wenr with it over the next couple of seasons. The idea if the Russians trying to open a gate to either sick the Upsidd Down on America or travel through thr Upside Down in secret is a decent idea, but not a necessary one and it's also accomplished by just having the Hawkins people wanting to do exactly that themselves. Also, I just realized another plot hole: >>217155850>>217155892>>217156033how did they open a gate in Russia in Season 4 and get a Demogorgon of the Upside Down is local and limited to only Hawkins? They shouldn't have been able to access it or there should be a second Upside Down in Russia then.
>>217156600No because they unbrainwashed him and he said nah I want to be evil in the finale>>217156549I agree, but the problem is besides the sister stuff it just doesn't hold up to 1 or 3 on an episode to episode breakdown
>>217156593I like the mall and the Russia stuff and I was confused how one could enjoy one but not the other (thinking the issue was believability) but your issue is tone/show scope which wasn’t a problem for me but I can see your side of it.
>El is dead. Get over it.Why would Sadie Sink say such incendiary things?
>>217156727Too many believers, somebody had to say it.
Episode 9 tomorrow. Trust the plan
>>217156750ELtriots in control two more weeks
>>217156727The Duffer's wanted to say it but feared the backlash after their last set of interviews so made her do it because she's a favorite and a girl, and also because having Millie do it might cause people to think she didn't like the show or the Duffer's/might but return for a future installment which would end up hurting one or both of their careers. Sadie can safely be made to say it and everyone will eventually write it offPlus she's three White nonjew so if people do get mad they would rather it be at her
>>217156800The Duffers would be absolute hack retards if they confirmed it one way or the other in an interview.
>>217156727It’s more fitting for the show if she did die a hero instead of living out her life as a fugitive. Mike’s cope is sweet, but her arc was that of the sacrificial hero.
>>217156698Do you really belive you can unbrainwash someone like Vecna? He touched the Orichalcos StoneHe were instantly corrupted, as long as Mindflayer lives he's under it's influence. This is exactly a carbon copy mirror of Yu-Gi-Oh Waking the Dragons>Dartz/Henry finds the Orichalcos Stone gets corrupted by an eldritch god and given insane powers.>Orichalcos Stone uses the darkness in ones heart like fear, anger to get more powerful>Eldritch god needs souls in order to manifest >Only way to defeat the brainwash is to do the classic "friendship is magic bs" Henry is not evil it is the stone it is manipulating him. The only way for them to unbrainwash Henry is if they knew any happy warm memory or friends.
some small writing change would make the ending good: make the magic rock some kind of psychic material recovered from a meteoritemake the mindflayer an entity native to humanity's consciousness, formed from negative emotions - traditional voodoo curse shitthen el yeets him into a wormhole to an actual other planet, his rage gives the mindflayer physical form(he's weak so smoke monster), and he makes the plan to keep the wormhole open and crash the other planet into ours via it. no dimension X faggotry, just el throwing henry to another planet and him hatching a plan to fuck everything up. then everything lines up: s1-2 using planet's native ayys to fuck shit up in his hometowns3 using hometown's natives to give the mindflayer forms4-5 he's powerful enough now so direct confrontation and then recontextualize the final battle as him just wanting to make a big scary monster on a dead world but he makes a paper tiger and jobs because he genuinely didn't expect them to use the full potential of the wormhole and invade his planet. write out doctor kay entirely and make the military in the final season a rouge platoon of black ops guys that want to drink el's blood because they think it'll make them supersoldiers, some apocalypse now type "going native in the upside down" shit.
>>217155850>Don’t even understand the issue>It’s a TV show>It’s a TV show>Prolonged exposure>Creatures don’t have a directive, Henry was focusing on stage 2>Theoretical or was left there by the scientists who worked on it>Monitored and deemed harmless>We just didn’t see it>He’s comfortable enough pulling his cock out next to it, he probably knows more about it then we do>The military would absolutely have an interest in an alternate dimension if they could occupy it>Glowniggers don’t have to explain shit>Powerful vessel with ties to Earth>Mystery macguffin doesn’t need explaining here>He’s seen some shit>They recognized the plan was a long shot but had little time and it was deemed a best bet>In Eddie’s memory, both comfortable dying if need be>Not given a directive by HenryEven if you find these answers unsatisfactory they aren’t plot holes.
>>217156727Because that "I believe" stuff reminds me way too much of the "I do believe in fairies I d, I do" thing from Peter Pan. There's problems with both theories but her going out a hero feels more satisfying than the alternative retarded girl wandering round as a tramp hiding from the government,
>>217156997I think it’s an I do believe in fairies thing by design.

i dropped this show midway thru 3. is it worth watching just for the memes and being filled in
>>2171570754 and 5 are pretty different than 1-3 but yeah I think it’s worth a watch.
>>217157006>Mike and everyoneI got the impression everyone else had already accepted she dead and was just indulging Mike to stop him jumping in the tub with a toaster in a few years. Hell given he just lore dumped what he presumably thinks is revelatory news at the end of a D&D game not even sure he believes it.
>>217157104I think they all half believe and half don’t. It’s an unanswered lingering nag of doubt that’s sometimes hopeful and sometimes feels stupid. That’s what they live with.
>>217157031they wrote it that way because they want to use the magic rocks in whatever prequel series they make. it's almost certainly supposed to be Element 115 that bob lazar talked about and they're gonna make a prequel about roswell and the philly experiments - the play mentions the USS eldridge being sent to dimension x and we see the exotic matter creating similar scenes of people melting into metal. there was nothing about the 'flayer being a random world-devouring space spider before s5. in s2-3 it was written as a monster native to the UD and if they were going to introduce Henry as a main villain it'd be better writing to have the mindflayer be something of human origin and not fully-formed so they avoid all the power-scaling faggotry.
>>217156223Forgot to mention I'm trans btw.
>>217157126Yeah my immediate gut reaction is a 40’s/50’s Roswell/Area 51 send up. Maybe with a group of kids discovering a strange meteorite and they can actually go full King.
>>217157126If they tie the rock to Atlantis I'm fucking out. But yeah Roswell/Philadelphia experiment sounds like the real plan.
Stopped watching at season 2. Did they explain how stuff like cars etc, in our world, also move in the upside down?
>>217156989>Don’t even understand the issueEl explicitly stated in The Piggyback "there was no Mind Flayer, it was you along!" which is later confirmed by Will. >It’s a TV show>It’s a TV showIf you're not going to care when making it why should anyone care about watching it?>Prolonged exposureHow prolonged? That doesn't make any sense. >Monitored and deemed harmlessWhat happened to the guys who ran the Hawkins radio show before then? Why was it just abandoned and waiting there? Someone had to build it and buy all those records and equipment >We just didn’t see itThey climbed up very high and even said "wow what a nice view!" Last season. It's just at the end of town, Hawkins has to be about six miles by six miles and it's thousands of feet tall you should be able to see it literally anywhere in town>He’s comfortable enough pulling his cock out next to it, he probably knows more about it then we doThat's quite a leap in logic. People piss on electric fences all the time until they learn not to do that>The military would absolutely have an interest in an alternate dimension if they could occupy itBut it's occupied by Demogorgons and Demodogs and Demobats they have no defense against as we saw when the Demogorgons attacks the "MAC-Z" and annihilated everyone despite them throwing literally everything they had at it>Glowniggers don’t have to explain shitWhy not just make her a talking Demogorgon then?>Powerful vessel with ties to EarthWhy would he need that or even I ow he needed that at the time?
>>217156989>Mystery macguffin doesn’t need explaining hereYes it does. How could they have possibly gotten it when the entire premise of the show is that El is the one who made first contact?>He’s seen some shitThere's no possible way he's been in a scenario that would make him truly think that>They recognized the plan was a long shot but had little time and it was deemed a best betSkeptical. >In Eddie’s memory, both comfortable dying if need beSo they just decided to 100% die because of Dustin's semester long friend rather than possibly sirvive or make any difference in the fight?>Not given a directive by HenryWhy? >>217157006That's dumb because she's a fleshed out person not a fairy and also a love interest but we don't even have confirmation that her blood can give people powers like Henry's they just think it's a possibility
>>217157226Post S3 the show seems to have been some other idea the Duffers had but couldn't get made so they just rewrote and retconned Stranger Things to accommodate it.

>>217157152>>217157189If they had stuck the landing on the ending I'd be in majorly for that but seeing what they did I can't imagine it won't be horrifically terrible. Even if it somehow starts alright it's going to end in a terrible and unsatisfying way that manages to turn the lore up to such a ridiculous degree that even a daytime soap opera would blush >>217157200No they did not and in fact they introduced more details that made it make even less sense
>>217157258I honestly think it was a JJ Abrams situation and they just had an "uncredited intern" that actually had all the talent writing most of it and they finally got sick and just left because they weren't getting any of the money or credit (COVID probably played a big part because it broke the spell of L.A. a bit and they most likely had to move out of the city because they couldn't afford their rent and when they went calling for help they got told: "sucks to suck little buddy." so they just rage quit and left them with them bag.)It would explain how they completely lost the ability to keep the korr straight, do the aesthetic and vibe, and also couldn't even keep the episodes to the regular run time and formula.
>>217157264It came straight off the top but I could see it being repurposed into pasta
>>217157285Good, smoothbrains on this board FOR LITERAL YEARS yapped about "A mistery that will be solved only in the later seasons!!!! MUH you must keep watching to find out!!!!"Glad I didn't waste my time with this garbage show.
>>217157364Lol I'm curious I'll have to check the archive for threads after each season dropped and see what Anons were saying back then
>>217157337Godspeed then, I wish I had your way with words and the ability to verbalize my hunches so clearly.
>>217155691What actually happened? They just beat Holly until she agreed to hold hands with Vecna? How could he do that to her best friend?
>>217157323I don't buy the intern stuff, I just think the covid spell thing you speak of applies to the Duffers. S3 was the last run before COVID fucked shit up. They didn't get going again until around 2022, which is the same time they cooked up the play and started seriously retconning everything. As has been said, they never wanted to do every season with the same cast. They wanted an anthology with an overarching story. After S1 hit, Netflix pretty well demanded more of what worked. And it kept going on and on. Postponed by covid, then again by the strikes. What was meant to be over in 2020 is still going in 2025 on top of all the cast problems. tl;dr, I think after S3 and all the shit, they just said fuck it.
>>217155496Finally completed watching EFAP coverage.Disappointingly, they only cover the 1st episode of season 5 in their 6-hour stream
>>217157152>>217157189personally i'd write it so that it is E115 and that there's a fuckton of it on our planet because of crashed UFO's and use that platform to launch an actual anthology series. >season about kids in nevada getting psyopped into stealing the magic rocks and giving it to the briefcase guy>season about SMT Nocturne type shit in japan with zaibatsu corpo espionage themes>season about actual montauk set in the 90s where the demos and hopper and joyce come back i'd also make a cannibal holocaust inspired in-universe movie directed by johnathan>>217157226>Yes it does. It might seem like a silly complaint but I'm offended that across five seasons and ten years we didn't get any scenes of Winter in Hawkins. Most likely because the writers are California jews who don't have any experience with small towns in the Midwest (they even filmed in Georgia) but that's a big part of the vibe. Even just little things like Nancy in a poof ball hat and scarf, Joyce scrapping ice off her windshield, the guys all having a big Christmas time scene or Mike and El having a cute moment where they exchange gifts/maybe El levitates some mistletoe above her head and they kiss. I think they briefly had a throwaway about Christmas at the end of season one but you don't actually see outside just Will talking about how he thinks he's getting an Atari before he goes to throw up in the bathroom.
Any hairy girls in this?
>>217157696End of S1 is in winter.
Any other contrarian chads feel like 3 was the best season?
>>217157401Yeah, actually lol they all beat her butt pretty bad>>217157402I'm skeptical. There's not a lot of talent in Hollywood at the moment and we already know they stole the show from that guy who made the Montauk short film they had to settle out of court with because it was turning into such a big issue. It would make sense they had other people writing it. I've seen the anthology claim thrown around a lot the last couple of days but that doesn't explain how they were able to do season 2 and 3 so well with such a sharp drop off with 4 and 5. That looks more like someone left and they couldn't replicate what they were doing.
>>217157431> because they wrote it that way, probably so they could use the prequel/spinoffs to explain the magic rocks. That's not an answer even if they had a confirmed spin off happening. The fact that the negative reception is probably going to kill that makes it even more egregious. It'll just never be explained until ten or so years from now when they're finally certain they aren't getting anything greenlit then they'll reveal all their "plans" (i.e. things they made up on the spot) to try to generate some buzz to see if that will lead to anything
>>217157712But do we see the snow? It's just thirty seconds of Will having dinner with his family>>217157729Almost the best but I've got to give it to season 1 overall. Season 3 is a close second though and my wife's favorite. Maybe if Erica wasn't black and Robin wasn't gay I'd give it the number one spot though

>>217157734>Yeah, actually lol they all beat her butt pretty badBest part is that Holly is still friends with them afterward with no hard feeling. The fact her best friends believe a stranger (Vecna) over her and then proceed to beat her into submission.Holy shit, I don't know if this is standard female friendship, but I don't know how she can ever trust her bestie after that?

>>217157903until recently there was pretty high social cohesion on college campuses since you got into schools depending on your social class so you'd be way more likely to find a roommate you actually get along with. >>217157961also this, if you're antisocial/just want more space you can just get a single room or rent a nearby apartment - which also up until recently were affordable in college towns
>>217156677Another plot hole: the kids are supposed to be 15 this season which would make them ninth graders and high school freshman, yet when they jump ahead four years to their graduation Holly and Derek look exactly the same. They should be the same age that the entire cast was last season (14) but actually the age they were in the first season (11 since they're actually supposed to be 7.) Aging them all up to college and beyond was a little much, they're quite literally 15. That's a lot of wasted potential for if they ever wanted to come back to it. I'm sure its because of how old the cast is but theyre already talking about cartoons they just shot themselves in the foot for exploring their entire high school careers in animated format.
>when your training takes over
>>217157986Ah true. Different world back then. >>217158230Eh, back in the 80s there would have been snow on the ground even in November when it's set.
>>217156051I have been rewatching seasons 1 and 2 these days. One of the biggest contrasts is how much of them take place during nighttime and how the small town setting works best for it.

>>2171582813s divisive as a series. But the thing I've never forgiven is it just blows apart the small town feel. Suddenly there's a fully staffed hospital, giant outlet mall, and town paper with 30 misogynists on its team.

>>217160541>>217160523Just read the synopsis, but yeah, apparently. That's the conflict for the character and play.
>>217160109So Max is fully versed in racial science from the 1950s?
>>217155850The main and biggest one for me that completely contradicts everything previously established was Steve and Dustin fighting and throwing each other into vines without 1. Being grabbed by the vines, or 2. Alerting the hoveringI can forgive a lot but forgetting/contradicting your own lore and world building is major to me.
How is Henry the same age as Joyce and Hopper? Did the Mind Flayer slow his aging or something?
>>217160666I suppose it goes along with the demos, dogs and bats being all gone.
>>217160678Is he meant to be the same age or just in school at the same time as them? I was under the impression he was a few grades behind.
They could have easily resolved the military plot by either having them fight off the Demogorgons thus giving them a semblance of redemption and keeping them occupied or by having them chase Eleven when the Upside Down is about to collapse thus killing off most of them again, which would resolve them at least partially.
>>217160559Jesus, what a shit show. Why the fuck did the duffertards not have this in the fucking show? Makes Henry seem more human rather than a boy toy for mf. Also why is brenner a scientist going full glowie black op style, kek
>>217159667How was he in high school in Hawkins if actually Brenner was experimenting on him? Brenner didn't let any of the other kids lead normal lives. Not sure if thats a plot hole or if I just missed something.
>>217160735Not to mention adding some depth since it seemed not all of them were 100% on board with Kay.
>>217158307>town paperThis isn't hard to believe. My hometown is smaller than Hawkins and it had the county paper. Local papers had more presence in the 1980s, too. I find if hard to believe the area could support a huge shopping mall, though. I agree on that one.
>>217160758It was in the show a little bit when we first see young Henry trying to help the traitor guy and getting shot for his troubles. They totally abandoned it later, though.
>>217160722A few grades isn't 20 years. I can believe Bower is playing a little older and Ryder/Harbour playing a little younger but it's still hard to believe.
>>217160815Yeah I know but that is not enough. I mean redditors clambering on that Henry is pure chaotic evil hitler. When it's mf doing the job, Henry is just an onahole for it.
>>217155850Not this season but never explained >why/how was 8 able to leave the lab
>>217160851They really don't care about this shit anymore, anon. That's why you have 30yos playing high schoolers in shows like Euphoria and Yellowjackets.
>>217160860i think it's more that henry was decent at one point and got mega-blackpilled by the mindflayer and started agreeing with it
>>217155700She's cute and looks good firing a gun. No idea what she's trying to accomplish in this scene though. I dropped the show half way through season two. Why not just run with the others? The bullets seem less effective than a bee's suicide sting against a human. The fuck?
>>217161042Yeah exactly just like Dartz. Both black pilled rock eaters and dead set on bringing down an gigantic monster that will consume the earth.
>>217158201>this shit should be studiedIt's happened before so you could do a cross analysis of the fandomshttps://www.reddit.com/r/Sherlock/comments/5orufn/clues_about_a_fourth_hidden_sherlock_episode/
>>217158947>>217158947>I don't think I've seen a single pic of her with anybody else from the cast just hanging out
Bringing back that retarded indian character was such a mistake. They already had a bloated cast, and now you're going to sacrifice a ton of precious screentime for a character no one likes? Who appeared in one episode, the worst of the series? While a lot of good characters are still being sidelined?
>>217158809>treating Sadie like shitGood
>>217157696How the fuck are they going to get all that fake snow for Atlanta where it’s filmed? You are a dumb ass
>>217155691Damn, all the girls in class knows Holly is a QoS
>>217161394Not that anon, but how'd they get waterfalls, deserts and shit? If they can afford to film in iceland, they can get some shots in Canada or wherever.
>>217161330I feel they literally only brought her back to muddy the ending. Otherwise they could have quite literally just used Will for everything she did. It was even pretty cruel on the actress everyone hates her even more now.
>>217158307>>217160793The mall's existence could be reasonably explained as part of the season's plot>Russians secretly fund construction of the mall with shell companies to build their base>as such they don't care at all about profit and viability>early in the season, while at work, Nancy suggests to the journalists they should investigate how many stores in the mall have already closed down
Should I watch the second half of season 5?
>>217161632Just fastforward anytime Holly or Steve isn't on screen.
>>217155691Ted would stamp that bullshit out real quick. No Midwest 80s dad would put up with that shit. I’ll buy Max and Lucas because she’s trailer trash.
>>217161656It can be headcanoned that Billy's dad threw she and her mom out over it.
>>217160774I expected them to go a bit more into that dynamic of Kay being an annoying egotist the military dudes are sick of dealing with, but maybe it wasnt important enough.
>>217161163No she doesn’t. The bitch weighs like 90 lbs, and looks like she would get pinned down by rain.
Everyone on twitter and TikTok thinking Mikes blowing his brains out soon. Kind of managed to hilariously miss the entire point of that acceptance speech from Hopper, the final cope, and him going to college to write about 11 and his friends.
>>217161679Billy's death probably had more to do with that
Fell asleep thinking about H***y. Woke up in the middle of night from a huge orgasm and jizz all over me.
>>217161656Ted got bitch slapped by a demogorgon. He ain’t gonna do shit but complain about it.Just like when the Byers moved in with them for over a year.
>>217161648Just like how Eddie and Brenner carried S4, Holly carried S5.
>>217161706This was my personal Stranger Things experience.
>>217161720In addition to carrying S4, Brenner also carried around a huge cock.
>>217161679You just know there was a draft of the script in S2 at some point where Billy tells Max “I don’t want to see you talking to that nigger again,” but they dialed it back to keep it PG-13. It was definitely discussed at some point.
>>217155850>why did Vecna wait another 1.5 years before enacting his plan after opening the gates >why were there no Demogorgons in the other dimension defending the Mind Flayer>what happened to Derek’s family>why wasn’t anybody arrested for drugging and kidnapping Derek’s family >why did the military just let the gang go >what happened to Dr Kay and her team >why didn’t Will feel pain when battling the Mind Flayer and Vecna if he’s linked to the hive mind >why didn’t the damage to the exotic matter when Nancy shot it not suck everything out, what blocked it? Does the flesh wall heal?
>>217158947I don’t understand why she doesn’t get along with the others but does with Noah. Meanwhile Noah gets along with everyone.
>>217157996God I can’t wait for her first nude scene
>>217158300Nell is the new Millie. She’s going to get a shit load of more work now. Make the most of it until she gets bogged when she turns 18
I wish some of the camera work was better during the final battle. They cut away so quickly its hard to appreciate what they're actually doing. An example; mike realising the usefulness of his flare gun would have been a cool moment, but they fly through the scene so fast it just happens with no buildup and they move on immedietly. That kind of thing happens a lot.
>>217161798Don't think so. She's not a natural whore like Millie.
>>217161804yeah, the flare gun needed a mib momenthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ9_zBs3Z-A
>>217158075I hate Nancy so much, her and Jonathan. It's just baffling they kept them in the show past season 2. I mean, them going to off to college is a whole subplot. My least favorite characters on the show by a wide margin.
>>217161330I liked how small and cute she was. 5ft adorable
>>217157903I lived in the dorms my freshman year and my room mate was this little Chinese guy. I ended up fucking him a lot, I think it was pretty gay looking back but he had no hair, and smelled like eggrolls which I enjoyed.
didn't realize how short sarah connor was until thisshe's like chest height to everyone else
>>217161716That was him begrudgingly going with his wife’s desire to help their now-homeless friends in a time of need who wouldn’t even be able to leave Hawkins if they wanted to.I’m telling you, I grew up in a very Hawkins-esque town in Illinois the 90s (actually not far from where Murray lived), and my dad was basically a more lively Ted Wheeler. Generally easygoing, and preferred not to rock the boat, but he put his foot down hard when it came to his offspring coal burning. His attitude was basically “I didn’t spend years of my life and a small fortune raising you into a functional human being just to watch you piss it all away running around with a ghetto rat, and if you choose to do so, you no longer exist to me.”There was a “sundown town” a stone’s throw from my hometown, and another one had a full-blown Klan rally not long before I was born. They didn’t play that shit.
>>217161883I liked the various sibling sets on the show. Everyone in the Party had a “sibling” in their stories:Mike/Nancy and later HollyWill/JonathanLucas/EricaDustin/sub SteveEleven/KaliMax/Billy
>>217161883I scrubbed through that fucking melting room breakup scene. Shit went on forever, and I couldn’t care less whether they get married and stay together for the rest of their lives, or burst into flames right then and there.
>>217161963Doesn’t matter. His son’s best friend is already the town MVP winning the basketball championship and a cooler man than his son.Josh is already coming over with Derek and making out with Holly and her two best friends in the basement.
>>217161784She's never going nude. Too insecure and also rich as fuck. ST, endorsements and that Bon Jovi money.
>>217161963How many siblings did you have?
>>217161706Pretty lewdtfw I've never had a dream like that
Its the CGI tear that always moves me
>>217158979just like when they were sure Sherlock had a secret ep coming. Just accept that is shit and stop falling for mystery box writers that don't care about the show as much as you do.
>>217157903I lived in the dorms my first two years in college and got pretty lucky. Both times I hit it off immediately with my roommate, each of whom had a lot in common with me but also showed me some new things. The roommate from my second year and I rented an apartment together our last couple years in college and we're still good friends. But I'm old enough to say "It was a different time." This was before every college became a Pajeet/Chang farm. It would suck ass getting some stinky ESL stemcel as your roommate.
>>217162037She loves showing off being braless and she’s an attention whore. It’ll happen someday. Just hopefully when she’s not 40+ and still chasing that validation like what happens to so many others
>>217158979Thete is no secret episode. It's delusional Byler theory.
>>217161706Where are the Holly/Nell posters??
>>217162167It's nothing new. This is standard shipper bullshit. I remember shippers thought there was a secret Buffy-Angel ending back in 2004.
>>217158979>assmad hardcore fans make up a delusional theory that the REAL ending is coming A tale as old as time. I remember watching it unfold in real time after the fallout of Metal Gear Solid V’s story and ending
>>217162050An older sister and a younger brother. He directed it more at my sister, because I was always kind of on board.
>>217155667Probably never. This season was alone was a dumpster fire, but I would be shocked if the amount of pedos and creeps posting weird stuff about Holly doesnt scare the poor girl away from acting all together.Unrelated note, /r/ing more Holly
>>217162203MGSV, Mass Effect 3’s “Indoctrination Theory”, and rumors of an extended “Nemesis Edition” of the Resident Evil remake that added the shit from the original game that was cut are three that I can think of.Final Fantasy XV actually kind of did it when they came back in with DLC to fill in some of the gaps, but it was way too little, way too late.
>>217162275>scare the poor girl away from acting all together.Bro she’s in pedowood, she’ll get more offers than ever and her parents will see dollar signs. Then at 18 she’ll immediately create an OnlyFans where she dresses in the same outfit/s as Holly or any other famous character she plays between that time and she’ll lean right into it. Screenshot this and set a reminder for 5 years. I am right.
>>217162238Racist parents
>>217162275Retards need to knock it off with posting shit on Twitter and using Grok to make lewd pictures and whatnot, they’re just kicking up the silt, and drawing too much negative attention. It’s like when online retards started going after that girl who played Tony Stark’s daughter in Endgame because they thought she was going to somehow block Riri Williams’ black ass from coming in. She’s like six, leaver her alone you psychos.
>>217162327Yeah, no shit. I’m saying that was pretty common though, and all this widespread interracial shit is really just a product of the last 15 years or so.

>>217155850> Five year old Henry tanking a gunshot from a chrome plated .44 Magnum that would make Dirty Henry blush instead of it exploding hiss hand and making him scream and cry in painIt was a .38 J frame, not a .44. In my experience .38sp fmj really does just punch even holes in shit. It would probably still fuck up his hand though, but you can say that it missed the important parts of his hand and being in shock allowed him to ignore the wound until he got infected with the mind flayer.
>>217162435It was known at that point that the game was unfinished and that Konami and Kojima had fallen out because he was pissing around too much (I’m convinced he’ll have spent part of the budget on dinner dates with Stefanie Joosten). But the shizos latched on and said that their falling out was all an elaborate ruse and that it would be revealed at The Game Awards that the lost Chapter 3 of MGS V was coming and that Kojima was still with Konami and it was all 4D chess and in line with the classic Kojima stories of disinformation and narrative controlling etc etc. Of course this never turned out to be true and /mgg/ died completely soon after
>>217162423This. Now I'm afraid of using Grok.
>>217155691Here’s an early prototype of the Stranger Things: The Next Generation Holly Action Playset.
>>217162462THIS changes everything
>>217162447Yeah but pedo AI gens are illegal and will get people arrested. This is also what will lead to AI crackdown (as well as general nudes being made of legal age women) which will snowball into complete government control of AI which will then lead to AI created videos of attacks used to justify future wars. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Basically, she’ll still become and OF whore. Or at least, very very teasing like Millie is.
>>217161804>An example; mike realising the usefulness of his flare gun would have been a cool moment, but they fly through the scene so fast it just happens with no buildup and they move on immedietly.I noticed that and actually liked they did it like this, without shoving it in our faces like "hey did you NOTICE he only got a flare gun earlier, haha jokes on you you didn't realize how SIGNIFICANT is would be to the plot five minutes later, now hear this test audience approved ONE LINER as the character realizes the same" or something. It felt more natural that he just naturally used it. Trust the audience a little more.
>>217162462Makes more sense than delightful derek being a sperg
Dereks sister was so obviously jewish is he?
>>217162450This is obviously not happening but IMAGINE IF IT DID! I think that would be the biggest mindfuck in all of TV history. HOWEVER, S5 writing was still shit way before the finale so it’s not like they could salvage it in any meaningful way. Plus how different could an alternate ending be anyways? It would still end up in a victory for the gang so what else could be different that wasn’t already shown?
