>>217159227STICKYNOW
Literally who?

>>217159227Vaxxed?
>>217159227that's a chick's name, what a fag
/tv/ has probably never heard of this guy
Sticky the thread you retarded tranny jannies
>>217159227>filmbros when you don't want to watch a 7 hour movie about the economic downfall of an eastern euro village through the perspective of a bird
Someone post that "didn't get a sticky vs got a sticky" pasta.
>>217159227Too bad. Still not watching 7 hours of euro misery
>>217159227Met him once and he was super rude and dour when fans were watching, but really jovial and friendly one on one.RIP legend
>>217159227RIP. At least Krasznahorkai got to live to get some of the highest honours in his field (and also rich). On topic, has anyone here seen The Man From London? That's the only movie of his black-and-white era I haven't seen yet. Also, anyone got suggestions to similar directors?
>>217159301Tarr Béla
>>217160695Miklos Jansco
his funeral will be 10 hours long and nothing will happen
>>217160695György Fehér
>>217160885Well nothing happens at a funeral
>some old leftist fuck just diedHe probably seethed to death after Maduro got fucked in the ass by based Trump kekekekekek
>>217159227Who??
>>217160695Hu Bo was one Tarr’s students and An Elephant Standing Still is very similar to Tarr. I’ve only seen Tie Xi Qu but Wang Bang reminded me a lot of Tarr. There’s also >>217160901 like anon said who was a producer for Tarr who’s films feel the exact same.
More like Bela Tard lmao
>>217160901>>217161067IIRC Tarr and Feher were very close, and Tarr considered Feher his mentor and the originator of their style, even though Tarr made a movie in that style earlier.
>>217161067>Hu Boutter tragedy that death didn't rate an elephant that much but guy was clearly legitlooking forward to seeing bi gan's film next month
>>217160695Makk Károly
Most cheerful optimistic Hungarian
>>217160695Miklós Jancsó was a big influence on Tarr (whereas the Tarkovsky comparisons are somewhat unfounded). You can see the characteristic long elaborate takes in much of Jancsó
>>217160695>On topic, has anyone here seen The Man From London? That's the only movie of his black-and-white era I haven't seen yetYes, it's decent
>>217159227RIP
>>217159227huge F
>>217161340>utter tragedy that death didn't rate an elephant that muchRate what?

>>217163006his film
Sorry but i'm still not going to watch Satantango
>>217159227I've only seen Werckmeister Harmonies and Damnation
>>217160946Right wingers everyone
Yurobros... all our good ones are dying
>>217160946shut the fuck up migger
I really wish he didn't retire after Turin. We could have gotten 1-2 more classics.
I have found the perfect song to celebrate this commie faggot's deathhttps://youtu.be/A1dkZrpZgjY?t=46
>>217164898Commies song, idiot
>>217165189The irony only adds to it
>jamming on keyboard>accidentally stumble upon the eso ii piece from satantango>having a melancholic blast>look up another piece from the films>see a comment he died todayCreepy.https://vocaroo.com/1kfVBxnCa3vvWithout Vig's music the films wouldn't have half of the impact.
>>217163149I’m not sure what you’re trying to say. Are you trying to say that his death didn’t cause people to rate An Elepahnt Standing still high enough?
>>217159301I wonder whatever happened to her eyebrows?
>still no stickyMODS = FAGS
>>217159227Literally who?
Was it suicide
>>217165615cancer

GOODBYE BELA!
>The wind's blown it away>It went to ruin
>>217159227Never seen a movie of his, and he seemed like a massive midwit, but may he find rest indeed.
Dick van Dyke was 30 years old when Bela Tarr was born, let that sink in.
>Béla Tarr was a Hungarian filmmaker. His films are distinguished by languid pacing, stark black-and-white visuals, extended long takes, and an absence of traditional plotting.

There is no sticky because this is a capeshit board
>>217159292He was a two-legged living pleb filter.
>>217166796He's talking about (((them)))F
>>217165411no im saying it's shame he died cos he clearly had talentbut an elephant was only display of potential it wasnt that great of a film
>>217167290He was a pretentious pleb himself.
>>217159292Some Soviet arthouse boomer. How many Marvel movies did he have a cameo in? Yeah, I didn't think so. No sticky for you.
>>217167471>Reygadas Cringe >Costa and Apichatpong Nevermind, based
>>217167646All of that shit is cringe if you aren't some brown Marxist coping with an inferiority complex.
>>217159227Literally never seen or heard of any of these movies.
>>217167740How? He is one of the most well known European filmmakers
>>217167740Of course not. If you aren't a professional film critic or a chronically online pseudo-intellectual, there's absolutely no reason to ever come into contact with those flicks.
>>217167731what have you watched by those?
>>217167760I doubt it, his name didn't appear on any lists for "most popular European filmmakers". Not even in a list of 40 names. Even Tarkosvky was on these lists and he's been dead 40 years.
>>217167760Why are you surprised? If it's not capeshit or streamingslop it means 99% of this board has not heard of it.
>>217167760There's your problem, no one ever heard of Europe.
>>217159227BELA TARRD EAD?
>>217167840So he's film school slop that art hoes will go on about? Maybe I should check him out then.
>>217167842Nothing. I can tell based on their fan base, their expressed personal views, and the general "vibes" surrounding that shit.
>>217167857>>217167857We have really beautiful old stuff
>>217167850And yet people here know Tarkovsky, Fellini, Bergman and Leone.
>>217159227who?
>>217167907Black and white slop maker from the 70s and 80s.
>>217167888So you oppose his taste based on chimeras and ghosts inside your head. Take your (You) and gtfo of here.
Incel kino
>>217167877Ehh. There's better candidates. That being said, trying to impress foids is pathetic and costly in the long run.>>217167948I oppose his taste based on his personality and dismissal of everything other than those poorfag flicks.
>>217167897>Tarkovsky, Fellini, BergmanMaybe you're more optimistic than me, but I honestly doubt most zoomies on this board could name any movies from them without googling, maybe besides Stalker.
>>217168015Fakecel* kino because there's a sex scene
>>217168041What are your favorite filmmakers? Not trying to pull a gotcha against you, just curious.>>217168043The Seventh Seal and Stalker are staples here.
>>217168110Boorman, Lucas, Mann.
>>217168110>The Seventh Seal and Stalker are staples here.No one has seen those movies here, get real. 90 percent of this board watches capeshit or Hollywood trash
>>217168332You get real. Most of the people here who actually watch movies and don't (mis)treat this place as blue /b/ have seen them.
>>217168205>LucasUnsurprising
>>217168398Wow, is that a get? Imagine if it was an organic get; it would still be totally worthless.
>>217168393This place is for obsessing over actresses and watching franchise movies. This isn't some arthouse board, nobody discusses cinema here
>>217168583>obsessing over actresses Real issue here is anons having no taste.>This isn't some arthouse boardNo shit. Stalker and The Seventh Seal are entry-level enough for it not to matter, though.
what Tarr movie should I watch
>>217168739
>>217159227Literally no one watched Satantango in full duration.
>>217168866Many people have. It's quite immersive
>>217167263I would love it if they made a capeshit board that was secretly the kino cinephile board because all the capeshitters refused to leave here
>>217168866but it still gets played in arthouse theaters to this day
Might actually make me watch Satantango now, my local art kinoplex will probably be all over his films next few weeks
>>217167948Which Costa is he talking about ? Pedro ?
>>217168866i watched it twice and also read the book during the pandemicits p good
>no stickyEmbarrassing
>>217170934When Peter Greene didn't get one but some literal who from the wire did I knew that this board had reached a new low. Now we're going down again
>>217159227a beta tard died?
>>217167760>He is one of the most well known European filmmakersYou must be delusional? You really think he is as anywhere near popular as Godard, Fellini, Bergman, Tarkovsky, Bunuel, etc?
He was part of a tradition, that outside of specific institutional circles, no one cares about. And I don't think anyone should, because what's the point? 7 hours of low-budget film is where you tap out and go read a book, a medium much better at conveying information and potentially projecting better images into your head too. Never understood why anyone interested in film would waste their time on cheap gimmicky boomer shit instead of thinking about real ways to do something new with the medium.
For fuck sake mods sticky this right now. Tarr was one of the greats.
