Explain to me why this was hated compared to Legacy. Not cappin, feels like a worthy sequel.
Poor advertising on Disney's part. It was a cool movie and I liked it a lot
>>217172175The plot is literally the opposite of Tron. And where the fuck is Tron? How can you call a movie Tron without the titular character. It would be like if Ballerina was called John Wick 5.
Tron movies used to have Tron in them
ITS TRONNIN TIME!
meh, should've put in sydney sweeney as the girl
>>217172175Lacks the world building and score. There is so little time spent in the grid and we see so little of it, while Legacy had a fully realized world. The score also does not compare to Daft Punk's. Also the cast is legit bad.
Legacy was not a widely beloved movie. It was barely well liked in the small population that saw it, even among nerdy eighth graders like I was when it released. I feel like besides the people who hate on the new one because they don't like Leto specifically, the crowd that enjoyed Legacy enjoyed Ares as well. I did.
>>217172175No cappin I hate luciferian sloppa aimed at kids. Simple as. No surprise the most boring satanic shit features the most self-obsessed, self-aggrandizing narcissist in the prince of box office drags Jared Leto.
Jared Leto? no thanks
>>217172508Not ethnic enough.
there are like 300 of you in the entire world who give a fuck about tron
>>217172175>Explain to me why this was hated compared to Legacy- the story is complete gibberish- the stronk female archetypes are overplayed and embarrassing- multiple characters we don't get to know and have no reason to like, not to mention the entire cast with the exception of leto, bridges & peters are all minorities and not even indian at that, this is a fucking story about computers ffs- worthless jeff bridges cameo- massive retcon of legacy and tron overall- sequel tease that makes no sense and will likely never happen or at least not for another decade
>>217172175Bad marketing
>>217172702>luciferianheard this about this movie before but dont care or know enough about tron to confirmQRD?
>OP says he's not cappin>He's straight cappin
>>217173479this.
>>217174859i wouldn't worry about it, anon
great movie if the girl was someone hot like mgan fox 2000s
>>217172175Legacy had not one but two super hot chicks in it.
>>217174970so what? some kind of gay 'ascension from digital world to real world' nonsense?
>>217174970>muh spooky devil lights
>>217172365>>217172415you morons have latched on to "le tron is not even in the TRON movie" but he was only in legacy for like 1 scene.... why weren't you outraged then?
>>217172175It's a great movie with a great score but it has a (asian) woman software engineer so the critical drinker and nerdrotic called it woke
>>217172175>Explain to me
>>217172175Jared Leto should stop acting and just focus on banging 15 year olds in his cult
>>217175307something like that
>>217172175Didn't read didn't watch lmao.
>>217172175That Asian woman was so bad at acting. What nepotism gave her the role?
>>217172175Most of the action happening in the real world and not the Grid was pretty disappointing. I really liked the invasion and escape scenes. Aries character arc was entirely predictable, down to some of the lines. All threats/ villains were disappointing. One note henchman and a guy with mommy issues that inherited his position that doesn't really do anything because the writers main goal is to set him up for something in the sequel...PLUS he gets outsmarted by the one note henchman. And the "need" for the Macguffin was pretty weak.
>>217172175I torrented this shit and it was fucking awful
>>217172175Every actor who isn't white is a charisma void, and it takes place largely outside a computer.
>>217172175I'm convinced it was primarily competitor corpo countermarketing bullshit combined with the death of the theater for everything but the biggest most established blockbuster franchises and recognizable directors. The plot was fine, the music was good, the visuals were good, Leto's portrayal of his character was completely fine. It checked all the boxes for the general non tronhead watching a tron movie for a spectacle. It was worse than Legacy but not by a massive margin. Really the only complaints I had was the pacing and some of the characters made it apparent there was probably another hour and a handful of subplots that ended up on the cutting room floor. Well that and the "lead" being pretty bland and her husband being an extremely annoying character that luckily disappears for the overwhelming majority of the movie after being introduced in the first minutes.Maybe I'm just old and completely out of touch but all this Leto hate seems so obviously manufactured.
>>217172175Legacy had great music going and Ares not so much. Everything is forced in Ares, and idea of 3d printing outside digital world is frankly retarded. People make it about Leto because they hate the guy, but in reality entire thing sucked and if Legacy was released today it would sell well. Both are hollow, but Legacy had better cast to mask it.
>>217176119>all this Leto hate seems so obviously manufactured. It is. He's the entire reason this movie exists yet people will just blame him for it failing. Straight retarded. All over some bullshit drama that no normal person gives a fuck about.>>217175944I heard they were getting pushed hard by higher ups to keep the runtime really low but i have no idea if that's at all factual. Does feel too short and there are a handful of pointlessly deleted scenes available.
>>217172175All of the Tron films had terrible initial reception and only started winning praise after significant reevaluation.
>shit plot >shit costumes>shit actors>most of the movie spent outside of the gridTake your pick
>>217176457>shit costumesWeird nitpick
>>217176477Not when Legacy's were kino. Costume design is just another reason Ares didn't work
>>217172175It requires you to have seen the first two Tron films. Most critics have not, at least, not recently enough to remember what happens.
>>217176147>3d printing outside digital world is frankly retardedI don't think its retarted as much as it is inefficient, which is the point. Dillinger is working with technology that is second rate compared to Encom/Flynn, and this is the whole idea throughout the movie. Everything Dillinger has is a cheap knockoff of stuff that Flynn, Alan, Lora and Walter had already worked on and perfected, but without the resources of Encom and only the shitty notes his Grandfather took, he can only make cheap imitations. That's why the Dillinger system is clearly not as advanced as the Encom grid, that's why the discs have to be pointy triangles instead of circles where all of the edges are sharp, that's why he needs 3d printer filament to bring his creations outside instead of just materializing them like at Encom.
Okay the plot while it does tie into the originals, actually using the laser for what's is supposed to be used for, and the permeance codes explains why CLU didn't invade the real world earlier in legacy It's a weak plot that needs to introduce a lot of unlikeable characters. But the new Dillinger was cool, Peter Evans great actor againIt's crazy how hes really good but always seems to be in flops.Really the 2 white men carry the movie, the Asian girl is not bad as people say, and the Mexican grew on me, the rest are literal nobodies.I think the music was better than legacy's music, it had some amazing scenes, the start with ares, the city bike chase, ares in the 80s, even the Asian girl asking for the phone was enjoyable. It's a Tron film with a leading man, everyone thinks is a hack pedophile.A miracle had to happen, but yeah with shit marvel craps out, the superman decu film, Jurassic world. It was one of the better films of 2025, but the year ended on avatar so it doesn't even matter
>>217172175wouldn't say it's a worthy sequel but it's a fun flick, I don't get the hate
I was ready to hate it, watched it and as I was watching, I kept waiting for the moment when it becomes not good. That moment didn't come. It was a good movie, and the proof it was good is that I didn't hate that hack of actor Jared Leto, which says a lot. Only downsides are lack of continuity with the previous film, and the weak diverse female lead
>>217175350>one scene onlywatDid you miss the part where Rinzler is Tron?
