I thought it was confirmed deathclaws were cleaner type experiments designed to purge battlefields. They were supposed to be brainless killing machines that died quick due to absurd metabollic rates and they weren't supposed to be capable of reproducing but then they mutated to be smart, have prolonged lifespans, and be capable of reproduction. IIRC the green/grey ones are females which are smaller but have higher stats/are more aggressive. It kind of sucks that Las Vegas has been overran and turned into just another tomb in the wasteland. The area around the strip was where the majority of the culture/community in FNV came from. Without the smaller communities around the Wasteland have literally no reason to exist.

We don't know what happened to NV yet, but the Kings are all ghouls and when Lucy/Ghoul enter the area a dosimeter goes off indicating high levels of radiation. It appears the Deathclaws moved out of the Quarry and into the Strip suggesting they either overran it or something else killed everyone, and they just moved in for the real estate upgrade. The closing credits have stills that show most of the NCR/Legion died fighting each other and there's also a still that makes it look like there was lots of NCR backstabbing going on. The deathclaw scene at the beginning of the show was pretty dope, Goggins does a really good job of looking scared shitless in their presence.

I've just finished the Zion Trail (redux) mod for FNV and it has the best sense of landscape scale I've seen in anything Bethesda-related. Long winding sparsely-populated canyons interspaced with tiny well-designed settlements and some honkingly huge Vaults that leave the main game ones looking tiny in comparison. Mobs only appearing at certain times of day (geckos/lakelurks in the day, nightstalkers at night) + NPCs behaving like they have a life instead of lurking behind the counter all day.

I recall Arena stretched across all Tamriel but it was an empty slog regards walking around. Would love to see larger maps in Fallout but it would depend on the potatoes being able to handle it.

I think Hollywood writers learned their lesson from the earlier seasons of Man in the High Castle that making your villains competent risks them being more likeable and interesting than their poorly written protagonists. So instead of making their protagonists more interesting (they usually can't) they just make the people and factions they dislike absurd. It's very shallow. I would posit that one of the main reasons Andor wasn't awful is precisely because they were decent enough writers who were willing to show the Empire being even a little competent again.

I think the writers of this think the only way to show an ideology as bad is to make the characters idiots. The NCR is shown as broken but noble in the show, and Cooper is meant to be a reluctant good guy (blowing up the Legion camp for example) who is just understandably very bitter and hardened from his experiences. Lucy is almost completely 'good', Max is mostly 'good' and Cooper is neutral but turning more good. The prewar 'pinkos' are shown in an almost completely good/sympathetic light so far.

It's looking like if any ending is canon, it's the bad Yes Man ending where you destroy hoover dam. Only way to explain why everyone fucked off and everything is so fucked up.

New Vegas was that. If you tried to run straight to NV from Goodsprings you'd get mauled by raiders and deathclaws.
