What was it about Panic Room(2002) that resonated so well with audiences?
>>
>>217209755
I don't know but I liked Dwight Yoakams unhinged performance
>>
>>217209755
Is that the kid from T2?
>>
>>217209755
this movie is part of that weird phase of shoehorning diabetes awareness in kids

The movie that turned Kstew into a lesbian

Idk what happened to that guy but he was hilarious in the first scene of wedding crashers.
>you shut your mouth when you’re talking to me!

Jodie Foster had her way with loli Kstew??
>>
>>217209755
People still loved Jodie Foster, but she squandered it by appearing in several boring movies right after this, just as her looks were fading.

Goddamn...
One obsessed editor with no competition?
>>
>>217209755
Fincher temporarily stopped being an edgelord and used his talents to make a mainstream movie.
>>
>>217209755
It was a well shot little thriller.
It’s cute how at one point they switch sides of the chess board.
>>

I don’t know, it seems like he is a jobber.
>In the film's progression, the house degrades in quality, so Fincher filmed scenes in continuity as the set changed.[5] He also filmed many sequences twice due to their near-parallel appearance on the panic room's video monitors.[28] Editor Wall said there were 2,073 set-ups for the film with most set-ups having two cameras.[29] One repeated take was when Raoul attempts to break into the panic room through the plaster ceiling below it. The plaster took 45 minutes to replace, so combined with repeated takes, a scene that was an eighth of a page in the script took two days to film.[18] Another repeated take was one five-second shot being filmed over a hundred times: Meg being attacked by Raoul and dropping Sarah's medical kit. The shot was repeated so it would look like Meg did not toss the kit but instead lost it. Simultaneously, the kit needed to land in frame and in focus for the audience.

If you anons want to see a cool "Panic Room" tv series, go check out CHOSEN where you can find it (used to be on Crackle). Season 3, an assassin and her kids are trapped in a panic room while a rival assassin with kids is trying to kill them. Both sets of kids are being trained to be assassins too.

This is a reminder that Jodie Foster named Kristen Stewart "Kstew" as a reference to mingled bodily fluids.

>Stahl argues that this dynamic, paired with Foster's legacy of portraying gender-defiant roles, redefines motherhood as a site of feminist resistance, challenging traditional maternal norms through a "queer feminist reproductivity". This relationship mirrors and strengthens Foster's star image, which has often aligned with themes of female autonomy and critique of heteronormativity.

It's hard to put into words how incredibly disappointing Panic Room was when I first saw it in 2002. After watching Se7en, The Game and especially Fight Club over and over and over again I knew Fincher's next film would be nothing short of an absolute masterpiece.

But it wasn't.

Zodiac was at least, but that took another five years.

No. Nine of that happened. None of it. It was a random B-Movie that some people watched once it was not a big hit and no one talked about it very much. It went quick to DVD and wound up in the $5 bin surprisingly quick. This is literally historical revisionism.

Panic Room is a surprisingly good movie. Good acting, decent plot, a few stars. And still underrated. Not bad. Aged like a fine wine, one might even say.

There was literally a Superbit release of the film on DVD at the time, once the film hit video.
The film starred Jodie Foster, a well regarded actor,
Forrest Whitaker, another well known actor at the time,
KristenStewart, who became a well known actor,
Jared Leto, who was sort of known, and is a major actor now,
And Dwight Yoakum, who was a major country singer.
Patric Bauchau and Anne Magnuson both had bit parts, and both were leading actors in TV shows and movies during their careers.
