Bugs was cute - why didn't they just make the film about her searching for Neo and Trinity? You could avoid basically all of the bullshit.

WB had been asking for years for a sequel and the Wachowskis always said no, and eventually WB said they'd make it without them. Hell, even the first 10 minutes of the movie blatantly mentions WB and their push for another Matrix game (obviously referencing this very movie).
