I've wanted to be a screenwriter for a long time , always shied away in favor of practical careers and rightly so....

But with AI and all this upheaval I'm starting to see that life is a little short to not take some gambles. Lets just assume for the sake of this example that I have great writing / honed my craft , is it STILL worth the effort over lets say the next 10 years to really try to get it in front of directors and studios etc to try to make the dream happen?

Or is it really a massive jews club that nobody gets to break into and make big features if you aren't in the club?

I'm not tied to hollywood either, and not white either which I suspect hurts me even more, I just want to see my work get made, so that could mean pivoting to stage plays , games, etc.

If you just want to tinker with your script in obscurity that's what you'll get. The only way to break in is to meet and befriend people trying to do the same thing. You already know connections are worth more than talent, but are you willing to focus on them, or just going to see how far talent will carry you?
>>
I got an idea. Instead of the hollywood jews making your script have some local indie guy make it. Be aware they may re-write it or change it.

Damn. Im not good at people. Any other ways of getting a script noticed?

AI will help you make a pilot, things are getting better for you, not worse

come up with a really good idea that will make money. not easy if you've never worked in the industry

Its the same repetitive poorly written shitbover and iver again. If youve heard at least ten AI stories(very easy I assure you) then you've quite litterally heard them all.

Know what would be provocative? Make a movie about the ukraine war while it's going on. I was watching some WW2 movies made in the middle of the war and they were a vital means of communication. Time to bring that back.

isn't this also at major risk of getting stolen? or is there some "honor" among thieves in hollywood?

I suspect if you're truly a nobody who wrote something good they'll just take it and tell you to fuck off. If you spend time building up some name in your local scene , people recognize and can vouch for your creativity, you might be able to defend yourself better when push comes to shove.

I suspect in part this is why its key to move to NY or LA, cause if you can stand out even locally in those places, some big names might have people on staff who are the feelers for new talent.

I mean in terms of production, not writing

There's no "they" you can't walk up to a big desk and be judged on your merits. You either make friends with the other writers and filmmakers trying to break in, or get an idea so good it might appeal to an already established professional. That person would then spoonfeed you connections. Other writers don't want your idea because they're trying to make their own stupid shit, anyway it's not just about one idea. It's about showing ability in order to get a career. The idea isn't your meal ticket, even if you sell one really cool idea it doesn't make you a writer. If you want to actually write a movie based on your first idea, it has to be indie.

>if u really hustled
by hustled you mean 15% working on your craft 85% networking with pedo managers/agents/producers/directors yeah.

Unless you have connections, no, not gonna happen.
>>
>>217218874
Try if you really want to, but it's highly unlikely. It's all about connections, and you have none.

Think of it this way: there are thousands upon thousands of little nepo bastards begging their daddies and mommies and uncles and grammies and grampies to put in a good word for them with Mr. Goldstein, so Mr. Goldstein has an enormous list of all these faggots he's worked with begging him to get their retarded kids' foot in the door. And if he takes you ahead of those kids, all those people are going to be asshurt, which hurts his own standing and connections and can jeopardize his own career if you fail.

So, why should he invest in you? The only real way is to be massively talented, driven, and somehow attract enough notice that you even get the opportunity to suck up to someone. So yeah, very unlikely.

You're better off being an actual writer and getting popular that way
Hollywood is nepotism turtles all the way down

When you learn the soul is real it becomes something you don't care about anymore.

if you are serious, the "easiest" way for you to break into hollywood, would be to write screenplays and make little no-budget films (if you must) to show that you can. Meanwhile save money to move somewhere in the LA area to try to land a PA job where you can network and maybe eventually move up the ladder. After a while, if you gain connections and respect (again, you should have screenplays and your own little content somewhere that you can show people when it comes up), you may be invited into a writer's room. Something like that, I recall from a podcast by a couple of writers.

I've heard that The Black List is a good route.

And very low chance that anybody steals your screenplay. The people perusing through screenplays are the ones trying to find talent to hire, not an idea to steal or even necessarily a movie to make.
