>pretends to be a nerd to save his career
>>
>>217233960
he almost said redwall but had to hide his power level
>>
>>217233960
i wonder how actors react to their agent telling them about their new personality they have to adopt.
>>
>>217233960
He would be mega-star in any other era of films but got stuck in the woke era. At least he got to be Superman
>>
>>217233960
One of the greatest dissolusinist moments in my life came when I saw the second movie in theaters.

All my college friends were super into it because it was the cool nerdy thing so I went with them at midnight to see it. This guy that was 2 years older than me and in his first year of law school was kinda like my big brother at the moment. When we walked out of the theater he was so hyped but I complained about some stuff. I remember not liking the shelob scene and pointing out some other stuff that wasn't book accurate. And this guy tells me I'm not a real Tolkien fan.

What's your favorite scene from the book? For me, it's when frodo has lost all hope and he sees the sun below the clouds of Mordor.
>>
>>217234073
First me its when the hobbits are praised with great praise
>>
>>217233960
I thought he was a legitimate nerd?
Anyone who plays wargames is genuine at the least
>>
Conan the Barbarian
>>
>>217234013
It's no different than being a Starbucks employee who has to fake cheeriness for 8 hours. Except in the actor's case you get millions for it and get to go do fun degenerate shit at mansions later.
>>
>>217234073
Third movie no? Sherlob wasn't in TTT

He's a nerd and hot women love him. The best of both worlds.

Nigger my theatre was fucking cheering when gandalf dive through the depths of Moria to slay the Balrog. One of the hypest movie moments ever
>>
>>217233960
He's not pretending though, he was a fat kid through his school life and got bullied like hell throughout, so all he did was play games and do nerdy shit.

I’ve read collected stories of Conan more than I ever considered re-reading LotR desu senpai

I liked the goblins in the hobbit. I don’t think they did goblins justice in any of the films
>>
>>217234826
Actually I do remember thinking that. It isn't what I'm talking about or what the thread is about, but I do remember thinking they actually made the giant trolls pretty much how I imagined them as a 10 year old boy
>>

i recently tried to rewatch the trilogy first time since its release. I stopped in the first third of the second movie. they're really not good. love the books though

Conan stories are very short and simply written, they're a lot easier to read than lotr

The guy is great at making you yearn for adventure though

You don't get into these random details just for show. Look at people like Brie Larson, if you fake it you say some random shit like "I play Nintendo" and not get into detailed Warhammer lore.

To understand what Henry Cavill is, you need to know his history:
>born on Jersey, an island owned by England but off the coast of France in the Channel
>father was a stockbroker
>4th of 5 brothers
>went to a posh private boarding school on mainland England
>was considered a bit of a runt and a loser at school
>was called "fat Cavill" because he was a doughy little boy
>played rugby to try to avoid bullying
>suddenly, puberty was kind to him
>in his late teens he suddenly becomes handsome
>gets a role in a film called Laguna (uncertain how he manages this)
>next, a casting director visits his school looking for someone to play a part in The Count of Monte Cristo, which he gets
>after this, he gets a few bit parts here
>almost a decade since his school days, he's done little parts in about 9 films
>also does some TV work
>starts working out
>gets the role of Theseus in Immortals
>does another nothing film but then lands Superman
>absolute game-changer
>career shoots to the moon
>HOWEVER, he is still just a fat little bullied kid inside looking for acceptance
>still has those interests and hobbies, they've just been hiding because his unexpected looks got him where he is
>now he feels more confident and settled, he starts revealing his loser side
>it actually costs him a lot to do that
>girls start to get the ick from him
>people working with him don't like his passion for nerd stuff
>nerds all think he's a poser because he's handsome and muscular but don't know his backstory
>ends up losing Superman, Witcher, can't even do the 40k film he really wants
Personally, I think he's probably a pretty chill guy, given his journey. I'd like a pint with him and discuss all his interests and hobbies, I'm sure he'd be as enthusiastic as any of us would about our niche interests.
>>
>>217235280
No they snort coke, pop pills, and have gang bangs. I lived in LA for three years and went to a few. It's just sex and drugs with way more money.

He is. Check out his reaction when he found out his Witcher co-star was also into Warhammer, you can’t fake that excitement. Also, he was the driving force behind every good thing about the Witcher series and really cared about the material even though everyone else let him down. He’s a real one.

>they're a lot easier to read
Because they're enjoyable to read. Going from REH to Tolkien is like going from playing Warcraft 3 to Age of Empires. Both great, but incredibly different, with Age of Empires being less "exciting". Tolkien is incredibly, incredibly, INCREDIBLY fucking dry, and he has this rabid fascination with trees, so much so he even made the trees literal anthropomorphized characters. REH's writings also carry a notable undercurrent of philosophical subtext involving barbarism vs civility, autonomy vs social reliance, and man vs nature. Along with some Lovecraftian horror tucked in for good measure.

Also, while I like that Tolkien is accepted into the literary community for his efforts in the fantasy genre, but he's ruined it in that everyone just tries to copy him for clout.

You know what actors do for a living, right?

Where did it come from that he is pretending to be a nerd. Did he expose himself or something? He sounds pretty believable to me.
Also being fat guy in youth explains his nerdy side.

>when gandalf dive through the depths of Moria to slay the Balrog.
one thing the movies leave out is the entire side journey that gandalf undergoes when fighting the balrog; when they fell into the chasm and crash landed in the underground lake, the balrog's flame was temporarily extinguished and it looked like "a thing of slime" as they kept fighting in the water. the balrog then tried to flee and gandalf gave chase as its (renewed) flame was the only thing lighting the way in the endless maze of tunnels, which were filled with "nameless things": creatures of unknown origin similar to the watcher in the water at the entrance of moria. gandalf and the balrog eventually reached a colossal staircase called the "endless stair", which was thought to either be a myth or destroyed and according to some estimates is over 15km tall. they fought and fought and fought all the way up until it popped them out the absolute peak of the mountain, which is where they continued fighting in the movie

the movies are great but the books are something else
>>
>>217235736
since when women get the ick from him? lmao
women really only care about status and money, and if you're good looking, thats a huge plus too, and guess what? he has all of that, so instead of seeing him as a loser nerd, they think he has hobbies and thats normal, that's about it
superman got lost because the DCEU was a complete mess and w40k is a whole other mess because of how big the setting is, the only thing that was actually his fault was the witcher but you can't really blame him for it, he was actually trying to save the show from being more goyslop filled with kike propaganda, so if he couldnt do that, then the show was doomed from the start, simple as
btw, you omitted on his history the time he was in the tudors, which I think was the real career changing role, since it was thanks to it that women around the world got to know about him before superman
>>
>>217237922
So...you only can be nerdy due to being a fat fag or having no game?
lmao niggas here of all places pretend that jocks only fuck, drink and absolutely dont have autism about guns, cars, sports (embarassingly so), war and accesories, as well as not enjoy and obsess about all flashy goyslop and capeshit.
