Felliniesque, one of the most cool endings to a TV show.

>>217235523
Basically its BB had a episode that went above and beyond in satisfying its normal viewers, gave a lot of satisfying revenge and outcomes for its protags and a feeling of closure.

ST gave the feeling of closure and a satisfying "we completed adolescence together guys yay" but was lacking on all the good stuff people like such as satisfying battles.

GoT was just bad on every front, unsatisfying villain deaths, bad lighting, bad battle tactics, a sense of none of this is really over where all the characters are seriously doing something else by the end.

Summary: make your season finale have closure, emotional payoffs for the characters, feels like the end of a journey, feels weighty, don't HAVE to payoff its not porn but don't be silly, a little artistry helps.

ST was never as good as BB or GoT strongest seasons. Never. Don't even compare them.

I don't even like GoT, but there's some actual talent involved in at least the first 3 or 4 seasons. BB stays good the whole time, 2deep4u faggots hate the final season but it was still well shot. ST is a dishonest piece of shit going full "remember this remember that" with no inherent value, a pastiche of wrong stereotypes and bad actors and bad acting. The fact you can even put BB and ST together makes you understand how low we've sunk with entertainment. BB isn't even that high brow, it's pure entertainment, but it's like modern critics thinking you can compare MCU shit and John Ford movies. You can't, you shouldn't, and if you do you should kys.
>>
>>217235721
my girl and I shrug our shoulders.
>>
>>217236432
Also remember that Stranger Things was supposed to be an ANTHOLOGY. Each season telling a completely separate story taking place in roughly the same region, with only some characters showing up again or serving as background personas.

But then S1 exploded in popularity and all plans were shredded. It's also why S2 and S3 are essentially all spinning their wheels.

In other words the series is a victim of its own success.
>>
>>217236157
Yes but that doesn't change the fact that looking at it from the fans POV it absolutely was because you came looking at the Sopranos as a weekly investment into the characters lives before looking at it as some artsy subversive anti-crime show.
>>217235523
Don't release an ending just leave the show unfinished.
The end.
>>
>>217236486
I'll be honest: despite the fact they abused the DUDE SYNTH LMAO REMEMBER STEVEN KING and the CGI making it look like a videogame, s1 of ST is an absolutely decent product on its own. It also closes very nice with a nice little bow, Hopper adopts eleven, he's probably gonna bang Winona and the kids are back to playing D&D. A decent past time series. Photography wasn't as bad as it gets in the latter seasons either. It feels like everything got worse season by season, just how its actors turned more and more dysgenic. I stopped watching after S3 and from what I see around I'm not regretting it one bit.
>>

Stop writing shows without taking into account the ending, because it's clear all 3 had to rush together to clean things up and it shows.
Also stop introducing new threats in the last fucking season that should be obvious.

I don't actually know why people hate the GoT ending so much. Are there just buttblasted about the Dany heelturn? Becuase I would argue that's a problem with the previous seasons not setting it up, not with the finale season executing it.
>>
>>217235523

Last episode of Sherlock was so bad that fans gaslight themselves into believing that there will be a secret real final episode. And it rated 8.2. So these ratings are completely retarded and don't represent quality
>>
>>217235721
It doesn't fit his character at all. I get they're trying to say "love conquers all" but the fact is that one of the major themes of the show is that people can't escape who they fundamentally are. We had 6 seasons of that bullshit where Jimmy tries to do what he thinks is a good thing, then gets brutalized for following his half formed conscience, and his arc finally learning to embrace the shittiness in his soul.

For fuck sakes, the reason why he gets found out is because 2 episodes earlier he relapsed into his crime ways as soon as the opportunity presented itself. This is not a man who is riddled by guilt or struggling with his morality.

If the show had've had any intellect and balls they would've had a situation where Jimmy guilts/coerces Kim into making some kind of plea deal with him only to find out just before they head off to their 3-4 year sentence that Jimmy was faking it and it was just another Saul Goodman scheme.

The ending single handedly turns BCS into another hackneyed gutless neo neo noir waste of time.

You're either getting a twist with a clipshow of sappy flashbacks, or a retarded last second asspull in some cases both. It's exceedingly rare that a show, even one that's been great up until that point, actually sticks the landing. Hell most shows struggle to stumble through their last season intact.

I'm trying to think if there are any others but not many are coming to mind.

The problem with most tv endings is that most shows only end after they've started to decline and the ending isn't a natural conclusion that they were building to all along. Either they're forced and rushed just to reach some sort of conclusion like GOT or they don't even find out it was the last episode until it was too late like Deadwood or Hannibal

I think Mad Men and the Sopranos didn't go out with their best episodes but.at least they went out with thematicqlly consistent episodes. Don going way out on a ledge and then coming back with another killer campaign and Tony getting shot (which IS what happeneed) were believable outcomes based on eveything we'd seen up until then.

Why did that show have fans to begin with? Everyone wouldn't shut up about it so I watched two episodes and had to stop. It's the quintessential "midwit writers trying to depict intelligent characters but not knowing how do do it because the character is smarter than them" show. They just turned Sherlock into a wizard because actual deductive logic is hard. A well produced, well cast completely pointless piece of mediocrity.

Just read the books, man. The short stories are like 15 pages each and they're actually good

House MD. s6e1 :^) In all seriousness I don't have one because I don't think I've ever seen a seasonal TV show with an actually good ending. I don't really count miniseries because where would you draw the line, but even many of them have shit endings. I'd otherwise like to say The Sopranos like other anons have brought up because I find it a very fitting end thematically. On the other hand I really don't like how openly hostile Chase became toward the fanbase and viewer generally in the last seasons so that sours it a little for me.
