Clooney's one is a romance.
The original is an experimental drama.
The book is terror and psychological horror interspersed with a hundred pages of lem's linguistic autism (kind of like jurassic park if you read it, and cricthon pausing the action to spend two pages talking about jeeps).
Anyway the book is fucking incredible. Read it. Listen to it even.
