Do you have any cool memories of watching MTV?
Jackass was kino
No, not really. We had just got cable (Foxtel in Australia) and i was skipping school.Even in the early 2000's Fergie would be on MTV singing about her humps her lovely lady lumps, I'd have a raging erection and shoot thick gooey ropes she looked so good.
>>217240497>Do you have any cool memories of watching MTV?Yes.
>>217240497Headbanger's Ball revival in the early 00's introduced me to more bands that weren't just nu-metal. Shame that 80% of the stuff they played was -core and groove shitJackass and Wild BoyzLate night slop like Room Raiders and that bus dating show
I preferred Fuse
>>217240497no
>>217240497Aeon flux ig
>>217240497music videos were boring as a little kid, but i came to appreciate them right as they got phased out
fapping to Spring Break cameltoe
>>217240497watching The State when i was like 8 or 9 and laughing hysterically everytime that guy would yell about dipping his balls in it (also Liquid Television and anytime i'd come across a weird Primus video in the late night hours whenever i'd stay up late and watch MTV on low volume so i wouldnt get caught, seemed they always played the cooler videos like that in the late hours when i wasnt a-suposta be watching
>>217240662BASED! i loved her (Alternative Nation was always on when I'd get home from elementary school) and Tabitha Soren (MTV News! You hear it *wika wika wika wika* firsrt!)
i dont really have any memories of it other than skipping school and watching viva la bamso many once in a lifetime experiences i could have had but i chose to watch reruns
Watching Beavis and Butthead been music videos late at night was comfy as fuck.
I used to be obsessed with the MTV dating shows like Date My Mom and NextI have no idea why…it’s really inexplicable. I guess maybe because I usually found the girls hot. But holy fuck sometimes those shows were so obviously scripted. I guess it was easy content for them

>>217240497Mostly memories of waiting till late night so I could just watch Music Videos instead of all the TV shows they ran. My parents have memories of MTV parties where everyone would get together to watch music videos and discuss their favorite Video Jockeys. That sounded like a fun time.
TRLAndy MilaknokisMTV Music Awards. For a moment, this was equal to a GrammyAll Rock Music shows That show where you got to see how music videos were made. Rock music videos after midnight.
>>217241774Just about every one of these are incredible.
>>217241735Sadly this stuff was the nail in the coffin for the channel. For a while, it was kinda just The Real World/Road Rules in terms of reality shows, but that always felt like its own thing. Then Cribs came along and was a huge hit and I think that signaled the shift in where the channel was going. Within a few years, a good chunk of the airtime was going to stuff like Room Raiders, Date My Mom, Next which were all like thinly-veiled ways to get hot early 20 somethings on TV, and the writing was on the wall. All of the sudden, like half the content on MTV was either reality shows that cost nothing to produce (like Next) or reality shows that cost a little to produce, but were still worth it (Cribs, Jackass, Pimp My Ride).
>>217240497trl, jackass, and during the summers I'd stay up and have the music videos playing until 6am just because.
I remember I was watching MTV one day at my grandma's house when an MTV SPECIAL REPORT came on to announce that Chris Farley had been found dead
>there is still no physical media for Human Giant nor anywhere to stream it
>>217241028My n*gga
>>217242204I found it in like 5 seconds.
>>217240662For me it’s Martha Quinn (yes, I’m 200 years old)
>>217242285Based, I watch a lot of clips and torrent blocks of 80s MTV and fell in love with her instantly, what a qt
>>217240497>tfw no cute Karyn Bryant mulatto mutt gf
>>217240497I started watching it in the late 2000s and stopped by 2012 as soon as I graduated high school and had to stop pretending to like it so I could make small talk with people. All I remember is punk'd, Jersey Shore, room raiders, cribs, silent library, and the occasional Jackass reruns. Also nonstop pop, katy perry, lady gaga, rihanna, black eyed peas etc., and hip hop, kanye, lil wayne and T-pain primarily. It was all slop, but I have a slight sense of nostalgia for it now.
My first boner was Carmen Electra shaking her azz for some spring break thing I don't remember.
>>217240497
>>217242532that doesn't count, mtv only matter when they played music
>>217242582Nah, it had room for weird alternative media like liquid television and the things that came out of that. And when the real world first started it was kind of an experimental form of storytelling on television. It wasn't until Hawaii that it just turned into absolute dog shit that lost any kind of reality. And then weird shit like love-line.
>>217240497YO! MTV RAPS with Ed Lover and Doctor Dré (and their sidekick T-Money) in the mid 90s when i was a huge hip-hop head mainstream MTV just played the mainstream shit rap and YO! was pretty much only on fridays by that point at midnight to 1AM and as a kid it was hard staying up that late and id often fall asleep but id always try to stay up being that was the only time MTV would play real hip hop (i was jealous of the kids in my middle school the other town over who got BET because Rap City or whatever their big show in the 90s was played real hip hop all day long, only time id get to watch it was if i was at one of their houses)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POxx5pUIkZQ
There's a cool project called MTV Rewind that compiled over 30,000 videos that have been on MTV into organized playlists by decade, etc. wantmymtv.vercel.app

>>217240497Peak M.T.V was the 1992 Music Awards. Absolutely comfiness on every level conceivable. I re-watched again the other day and it’s a period in time I wish we could go back to.
>>217242050Me too. Late 90’s/early 00’s MTV was hyper kino, even with the gay shit going on.
>>217240497I used to love watching music videos, stuff like Tool videos were my favorite thing and I always thought were the highest form of kino. For a while I got into watching some of the shows as well, Jackass, but especially for some reason I really got into Viva La Bam and The Osbournes.
>>217240497>come home from school>the grind is on>check to make sure im home alone>nice, its jerking off timefor those that dont remember it or dont know it, it was just people at a club (or the mtv beach house during spring break or in the summer break shows) sexily dancing to house music, the based camera men would usually try to focus on mostly all the hottest of women in the clubhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5fpjUCXU2c
>>217240497https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amMHqyYKDzEDUB DUB DUBfor me it was Winter Steele, that shoulda been the Liquid TV segment to get its own spin-off show!
>>217243255damn that themesong is such instant nostalgia for me, some of my earliest tv watching memories i can remember was 90s MTV
>>217242581I will 2nd this
I liked TRL
>>217240497I remember back in 2005, I liked the Rob & Big show, and they also had some dating show id watch, where like a guy or girl would wear an earpiece and go on a date and they had some lie detection technology that could detect if their date was lying by just the sound of their voice. Looking back at it, it was totally bogus and retarded, honestly, but there were some hot chicks on there
