> I used to be really popular, you know?
>>217241797Too bad Justin Roiland is a sex rapist
>>217241797It was popular for like a year, nobody cared after that.
>>217241797At what point did everything start to go wrong?
>>217241881Season 3. The show fell for its own hype and the writing gradually got worse. The good to bad ratio of episodes got worse with every season. Show is pretty forgettable now. To make matters worse Smiling Friends and Haha You Clowns are making people want more cheerful writing so Rick and Morty's cynicism is quickly going out of date.
>>217241797> HAWK TUAH MAN!
>>217241881In 1989 when Emperor Hirohito died
>>217242024Rick and Morty's cynism really feels dated like it was written specifically for the millenial audience that loves to gloat about how much they like science, hate religion and racism. This and Bojack Horseman never really captured the Zoomer or Gen A audience
>>217242187>>217242024Amusingly R&M is a Gen X show, while SF and HHYC are millennial shows.
>>217241837It was popular for like a decade, don't kid yourself.
>>217242229Retard
>>217243497You need to learn your generations
>>217243510Retard
>>217243517ok boomer
>>217243542retard
>>217241797A bunch of my favorite episodes are from season 7, which came out not too long ago.But then in season 8 it's like they've stopped trying, it's sad. Could be that they tried to compensate for Roiland's absence by using up a bunch of their strongest story ideas in s7 all at once, when they otherwise would have held off on them for longer
>>217241797I don't understand why it takes so long to make new episodes. The past few season were great. Anyone who prefers the earlier wubadub drooling drunk fart joke Rick or the focus on the school side characters is low IQ and probably not White and you can ignore them.
>>217244169>he prefers the unkillable god Rick
>>217244202At least a few recent episodes have handled Rick's abilities well enough, such that there are still stakes>fight with Rick Prime whose body is enhanced just as much >Jerry's brain which doesn't know how to use the implants gets partial control over Rick's body >implants allow Rick to be artificially aged up to over 300 years old against his will, where he's still alive but extremely frail
>>217241797It's still popular, you and your peers just grew past it.
>>217242024Yeah the first 3 seasons are actually really funny
