Is it kino or slop?
worse, is a shit on fire
>le sassy american womantrash. as expected from apple tv.
Pluribussy
>>217252267white nonsense
>>217253286>whiteHmm, interesting. I might give it a watch
>>217252267Boring as fuck. They show people being infected with whatever virus this is and the entire world is basically just standing in place all infected all unable to move or do much of anythingand then the le epic twist>actually it's not an outbreak at all, everyone are just a hivemind now :^)well where's the immediate threat >they're months off of figuring out why 5 people are immune to becoming part of the hivemindwell are they evil do they want to take over the world >no they just do whatever you ask and want to make this comfortable for you as possibleI tried, but it just isn't very entertaining. The pilot is promising, but once you get to the second episode it slows down significantly and becomes exactly what most people have complained about just screaming lesbian woman with the twist that her emotions affect the entire population of the planet aside from about 5 people
>>217252267It’s not amazing but it’s still pretty good and a plebfilter
It's enjoyable, it feels like a mid tier sci fi novel which already puts it above 99% of "sci fi" tv made today. The slow pace seems like it's filtering a lot of retards but I find it comfy. I think the pilot is more than worth a shot if you're interested enough to make a thread about it
>>217252267it's really good... if you don't have a fried attention spanthe 40-60 minutes episodes seem to fly past in half that timeit's the opposite of slop; it's a Tarkovsky filter, getting rid of the wrong sort of person—the marvel fans and dopamine addicts—so as not to cast its pearls before swineit criticises woke, it criticises AI, it criticises the groupthink of the pandemic era, it criticises mass migration, and it does it in such a way that the blind, braying supporters of these things are too dense to understandthey think it's a slow-burn scifi drama about a lesbian
>>217252267It beloved by stupid people who think they're smart.
>>217254267It's literally the opposite midwits are all up in arms because they're proud that they "understood" a relatively simple concept so now it's beneath them
>>217252267Live action Rick and Morty>>217254267this>>217254337cope
>>217252267better call snail tier pacing rugpull after a scifi movie tier intro
I went into it with few expectations, knowing little except that it was "sci-fi", but came out of it pleasantly surprised with stuff to think about. Not exactly deep philosophical issues, but it's entertaining all around and well put together.
>Write three episodes worth of plot progression>Stretch that out to nine or whatever>Fucking smug idiots genuinely try to say it's a slow burn I dropped Pluribus after the episode where 5 episodes in or something Carol finally gets a whiteboard, writes down a bunch of questions to finally narrow down the hivemind, and drags in a hivemind guy to make it answer questions. Then instead of actually asking the questions, she asks one about whether her dead grandma GF was patronizing her or not, gets upset, and ends the scene without any new information despite 'getting new information' being the entire setup. Similarly, I loathed the scene where, when Carol tried calling the Paraguayan guy, they replay that ENTIRE scene from his perspective in its entirety, despite that not giving us anything new or interesting. (Showing his life in the storage facility is good, but the latter 2/3rds of that opening were not)Maybe it gets better near the end of the season but I just could not take how little was really going on

>>217252267It's somewhere in the middle. Not as good as I was expecting but not completely terrible.
>>217252267It certainly kino. The main character karen is supposed to be annoying american stereotype. .
>>217253465People like you are why you have to have slop like stranger things explain everything very slowly so you can grasp the concepts. You have obviously only seen like 2 episodes, and if you don't have questions like:>what are they doing after the clean up>who sent this message and what is their intention>why do they feel the need to placate the angry and surly main character>what are they doing in other parts of the world>how would I react in this situationThe immediate threat is the extinction of culture and way of life of humans. Everythibg we have built is being homogenozed and erased for an unknown purpose.Anyway, it's not a terribly deep show. But it's obviously too intelligent for you to consume and enjoy.
>>217252267It is a well written exploration of grief. If you are expecting hard sci fi, not for you.But if you want a well done character study with good cinematography you will probably enjoy.
>>217252267Watching paint dry is more entertaining
People that find the show boring are fundamentally broken people who can't experience empathy for others or understand what someone else is going through.
>>217252267It's an interesting premise with a good start, but that it slowly evolves into nothing. To make things worse, they already said the second season is far from releasing, so good luck keeping the hype alive only with "Yeah, I have an atom bomb now! LOL!"
It's slop disguised as kino
Dabs on uneducated third worlders. The only competent third worlder is a business owner/manager and the rest are portrayed as mindless sheep who care only for their immediate personal group. Even the french guy who is third worlder living in a first world country (France, lol) lacks any sort of empathy for humanity. Mind blowing "they" allowed them to make this show.
>>217252267Apple paid millions just so they can have a big name like le creator of breaking bad, thats literally the only reason this show exists
>>217253465Wtf why did gilligan think he can effortlessly switch from filming old people making pemento sandwiches and endless takes of deserts to a enganing sci fi series??
interesting concept, ruined by awful writing and a completely charmless main actress
it's' kino
>>217253465it's based on the retarded premise that technological progress will rob us of creativity and individuality, no wonder the show's boring, empty and nothing happens in it, it's just one privileged Hollywood writer's extended hissy fit at the prospect automatization replacing him and his colleagues
>>217252267Hehe Kim Wexler goes AAAIIIEEE, so funny :)
>>217255840She's so quirky i squee every time she does her little chungie tick. Shoopy Shoop Shoop
>>217252267It's good. Unfortunately it has a lot of problems and pacing issues, but it's definitely worth a watch.
>>217255528Yes, grief because of the modern gay and retarded COVID+AI zeitgeist.
>>217252267Lol it's fucking terrible and makes no sense at all. It's own rules are bad. They can't kill living things apparently harvesting or and wheat is murder even though the plants fruits rely on animals eating them there by...see it doesn't make senseIt's boring The script is badNo one has any idea the plot So everyone has vastly different fan theories It's the worst worst jj Abrams magic box shit Honestly by far the worst television show I have ever, I mean ever seen.. no redeeming qualities at all.
>>217252267It's kino until you realize that Vince doesn't actually have any ideas for the show and is just doing whatever he can to stretch the initial premise into 4+ seasons so he and his friends can have jobs
>>217252267>screaming woman on the key artWhy is this 90% of liberal media
>>217255471>The immediate threat is the extinction of culture and way of life of humans. Everythibg we have built is being homogenozed and erased for an unknown purpose.>Anyway, it's not a terribly deep show.you don't say
>>217255823/THREAD
It's just a little too slow and the characters don't ask enough questions, making it unbelievable even within the bounds set by the show. But still, it's an interesting idea and looks nice. Easily 7+ out of 10. I mean you can watch it in two afternoons.
>>217259260Part of the problem is as much as we want to know the answers to the questions, it doesnt really make for good TV to just have nonstop q&a sessions. I think Carol and Manusous are specifically designed as characters to avoid that, and its also why Manousous's interrogation was offscreen.
>>217252267It isn't entertaining enough to be considered slop. It's just nothing.
>>217252267Its watchable. Ultimately disappointing once you realize its written for idiots and doesn't actually explore the neat concepts its supposed to be about. It turns into a narcissist wandering around her town throwing hissy fits until a man shows up to solve her problems and then the season immediately ends.
>>217252267Everybody calling it boring and saying nothing ever happens clearly didn't watch or doesn't remember Better Call Saul. After watching Pluribus, I decided to watch BCS, just finishing season 1, and this show has even less going on than Pluribus. I still love it though. I think Vince is way more about aesthetics than plot.
>>217252267>>217257646What is this new aesthetic called?
>>217252267euro kinodoesn't belong to america with its long takes and minimal dialogue
>>217252267Of course it’s slop. I have never seen it and never will because it’s got the slop Trifecta:1. Homogay2. Female ‘protagonist’3. DEI casting
>>217255471the show doesnt care about showing any of dis doe
>>217252267It's filled with woke nonsense and msot of the characters are profoundly retarded, but it is enjoyable and technically well made. Despite everything I enjoyed it. The spic man is based and saves the entire season from being a void of nothing happening. Vince is an excellent director but his pacing is fucking slow.
>>217255719
Its fine but should've been a mini series. 5 seasons of this will be crap.
>white woman yells on poster
>>217254207This gay shibboleth of pluribians is ironically hive mind-ish; I read books and I was bored by the series.
Any romantasy novel recommendations? It seems like a cozy genre.
>>217255471That might be relevant if the main character wasn't a BPD retard who had zero interest in investigating any of these things.
>>217252267its a very boring melodrama about an angry unlikable dykemostly aimed at liberal women who have nothing better to watchthe alien shit seems like an afterthought
