This is /v/ but Fallout, like many other games from that time, didn't have a consistent vision behind it. If you look at this picture and read the game manual you would think they're two different games.Game devs weren't better worldbuilders in the 90s, they were just better game devs. Worldbuilding for games peaked in the middle and late noughts.
