>>217271569AI slop messes up again
>>217271530>In the sequel, Jake must leave and take Neytiri from her beloved Jungle to the ocean she hates>In the sequel, Quaritch must leave and take Varang from her beloved Fire to the Cold she hatesit's like poetry

>>217271521Disney's pretty tied into Avatar now. They've got the Pandora section of Disney World, they just put out a AAA game that's having a surge in popularity because of the movie and the new DLC, and Fire and Ash will hit $1.5 billion, which is very very far from a bomb. If Cameron is telling the truth that Disney loves the script for 4, I'd say there's a 100% chance he gets the green light. Ironically, I think Fire and Ash is being hurt somewhat by the normies this time rather than helped. Their friends are telling them it's pretty much the same as the last one with more whales, more ocean, more maori na'vi, and a big ocean battle at the end again.
>>217271650They might do that. Jake and Neytiri parallel Quaritch and Varang a lot. It's almost like from the WoW onwards we see a slower twisted version of Jake's arc from A1.
>>217271648>>217271569Zoe is based and obviously loves Neytiri as much as we do, if not more.
>>217271677I told that to my friends after watching The Return of the King. It was pretty much the same as the last one with more horse people, more plains, more evil mountains, more orcs, and a big charge battle at the end again.
>>217271741>ghostwritten foreword on some book paid for by the publisher
>>217271677Maybe should had called it Way of the Fire or something, so people know it's a second part of the last movie.I think it was a mistake to split 2 and 3 into two movies but i guess jimbo had too much content he wanted to use. Gotta respect the autism
>>217271695>Quaritch and Varang screw and bear a child>Suddenly Quaritch starts to get it and begins to have a conflict of interest with the RDA>Kid inevitably has a Neteyam moment at the climax but is saved by the Sullies instead of being killed off>They all sing kumbayah around the fireHire me Jimmay
>>217271772It's been said several times that Avatar movies is something special, the crew are on record saying that they are a tightly-knit group of people with similar vision and it's more like filming indie movies with giant budgets than giant hollywood blockbusters, and it all thanks to Jim's vision. It's obvious that these people enjoy making these films and that they actually like each other
>>217271824if you don't think this ends with humans winning you haven't opened a history book. we will crush the navi, destroy eywa and colonize pandora.
>>217271887I dunno. Humans in this are plot stupid, Eywa will pull some nature magic bs at some point, like a planetary railgun made of vines and shit and shoot down ISVs in orbit
>>217271887The Na'vi will concede and let the allied humans stay in Bridgehead after BTFO'ing the RDA because it's too late to do anything about that
>>217271887>and destroy pandora*the point is that Humans can't go anywhere without consuming it all and leaving it a barren hellscape. Even if it's a paradise world and so very rare they haven't found any others so they need to move there
>>217271885Why is Lang's handle highlighted?
>>217271598I think it's interesting that Kiri is so human despite having this seemingly direct connection to Eywa. She's not very physically capable, she has a human mother, she loves the human boy she grew up with, and she seems to have a very human temperament where she's happier laying in fields and watching animals rather than parkouring around the jungle diving off cliffs and shooting arrows and racing ikran

>>217272096>I need more Avatar content to consume
>>217272404Without plot armor, Lo'ak really should have died there. He usually runs off all alone and he intended to do the same here. But just this time, all the kids follow behind just far enough behind to stay out of sight. Lo'ak's brilliant plan to find Payakan would have resulted in him becoming squid food. It's a pretty silly scene too. They ascended from the depths to "test him" by eating him? wtf?
>>217272587>They ascended from the depths to "test him" by eating him?The test was whether he had found true companions who would save him despite his folly. He passed.

>>217273743?
>>217273796>Why do I have a feeling that it won't be Loak who succeeds JakeAlmost impossible at this point to do something else. He's already being set up as a fuckup who will turn into a capable, competent leader in time.
"Fans" should REALLY not have any contribution to the story. 3 was perfect in what it tried to do, to stick to landing on all of the character conflicts set up by 2.It seems that people are hung up on the stagnation of the broader interspecies conflict more than anything in their criticisms, because the movie does deliver full closure on the characters' behalf, on the interpersonal conflict, the crux of these movies (Avatar 1 is a love story essentially, just with a heck of a coat of paint, the sequels are too but expanding on the familial side of it). It could have no more movies and it would have tied all the loose characters' ends. All the groaning I've observed usually stems from people who aren't trying to engage with the sequels for what they are, essentially very well put family drama-action movies, instead holding a preemptive grudge because their sensibilities are lame and shallow and the director is moving away from those. They want a spectacle with unconditional, absolute closure on all fronts, immediately. It's why bitter endings are a big, rotund "NO" in Hollywood. The worst of it all is that it seems people are unable to just sit down, relax and enjoy the moving feast. It's a tiring combination, that audiences are shallow and at the same time lack the humility to put their preconceptions aside, if only to take the movie at face value, for what it is, not what they think it should have been. I blame the jews.
>>217273906I think the problem stems from Avatar as a franchise being stuck in the box office bitch cage. Granted, I doubt it would rake in as much, but I don't think the sentiment that it would benefit more plot-wise from being an episodic series is particularly uncommon
>>217272798It felt like it needed Star Wars or LOTR style closure to end on a satisfying note. Too many threads were left opened:>Quaritch arc still unresolved>Kiri and Eywa still unexplained>Spider is now a human na'vi and the humans know it>Kiri and Spider romance>Jake and Lo'ak conflict kind of hand-waved>Varang still alive>Bridgehead still impregnable>Earth still sending more peopleNeytiri's arc with Spider was completed, Jake became Toruk Makto again, and the Tulkun abandoned pacifism. That's all great, but it feels like we opened 2 larger and more important threads for every one that got resolved
>>217273980No, these things need to be seen in a big fucking screen with big, state of the art sound systems. It elevates the experience so much more. I think this applies to pretty much any movie, but these ones especially since they're so, both visually and auditorily, layered and detailed.
>>217274013Feel like the tulkun being more aggro will play apart in bridgehead somehow. Like for that big circular infrastructure in the water
>>217272874RECOMs are a direct result of Grace's research and creation of the Avatar program. The RDA is a corporation at the end of the day, and they're not wasting billions of dollars invested in creating the lab farms for artificial Na'vi bodies so willy-nilly. So they came up, looked at it and said "yknow we can make our own supersoldiers out of this" and that's how you get the RECOMs
>>217274070The Tulkun shouldn't be able to do anything now that their aggression is known and not a surprise. They are extremely vulnerable to sonar and the humans could pulverize them with high powered sonar pings. Powerful enough to make them deaf and destroy their brains
>>217274053The solution? Everyone should be investing in immersive home cinema experiences
>>217273906I think some people don't find what they're looking in these movies, they want diverse action and the overall Humans vs Pandora plot moving forward, not character and family drama. I understand the frustration, but as it happens, I fucking love to watch slow character development and satisfying personal conflicts being resolved, so I get exactly what I want from these films. I could watch 3 more hours of the Sully family drama and Quaritch character journey ant not get bored because I like them all and want to see how they evolve.
>>217274115They shouldn't but the humans in this are so incompetent that I dunno.
>>217274013>Jake and Lo'ak conflict kind of hand-wavedIt would be kino if Jake finds out about it in A4 by accident. Parents often don't know for many years what they're kids are going through as teenagers.
>>217274107>"yknow we can make our own supersoldiers out of this"it's probably the worst use of the tech. Imagine copying the mind of some ultra-savant and having an army of super researchers
>>217274013>>Quaritch arc still unresolvedHe's dead. Very probably dead, so dead. >>Kiri and Eywa still unexplainedEverything was explained, she's the daughter of Eywa. >Kiri and Spider romanceSibilings with benefits, get over it.>>Varang still aliveKWAB whore did her part and left. All of these have been closed, unless 4 picks up on them. Canonically, as of yet, they're done. The others I agree are yet to be fulfilled but that's not the main focus anyway.
>>217274165That would be a legal nightmare in terms of recognizing personhood. I don't think they would be allowed to have more than one clone per deceased individual at a time
Since quaritch will likely go awol of not dead, whose gonna be the next big antagonist? Maybe John RDA arrives in the next ISV run
>>217274197They would never kill KWABitch off unless it was deemed absolutely necessary to further the plot, and this is just the beginning of his passport bro arc
>>217274197>He's dead. Very probably dead, so dead.Impossible. It kills his entire plot of discovering himself as a new being.>KWAB whore did her part and left.Retarded. You don't waste a character like this.Time and time again the audiences prove that they shouldn't be trusted writing a school play.
>>217274197if he's truly dead then the series is ruined for me. everything was set up for him to betray the RDA
>>217274223Sure but we're talking canonically here. She KWABTFO (KWAB'd the fuck out) and as it stands, is no longer relevant, unless you employ meta-reasoning as you are (irrelevant to canon) or until 4 comes, if it does, and she's back.
>>217274165They're basically Space BlackRock, I don't think the RDA cares about the legality of anything at this point. They were given a clear directive for Pandora "Make it ours" and they're using that legal void to their advantage. That's why you can headcannon why all their equipment has stayed almost the same since AV1, they're given equipment and tech made for On-Earth operations and the minimal investments in new Tech are very specific.
>>217274228>>217274231Canonically. Key word here. The planned saga has 5 films. But canonically, the ending of 3 is what matters right now, and per cinematic insinuation, he's *canonically* dead, and she's abandoned ship indefinitely. Hopefully the following installments will get made and we'll get a more fleshed out development on both accounts, but as it stands, the saga could end here and we'd have few threads dangling left, only the interspecies conflict really and very minor aspects.
>>217274197>He's dead. Very probably dead, so dead.Of every film character with an ambiguous death, Quaritch is the most obviously alive of them all>Everything was explained, she's the daughter of Eywa. She's a clone of Grace created and given special powers for some as yet unrevealed reason>Sibilings with benefits, get over it.Can they have children? If they do, what are the children going to be? The na'vi are just going to accept a na'vi having a romantic relationship with a stock human?>KWAB whore did her part and left.Of all the most obviously returning-in-the-next-movie characters ever put to film, Varang is the most obviously returning of them all

Why would they kill him now if his storyline is still unresolved?>SibilingsLmao>KWAB whore did her part and leftIf Quaritch returns, as is certain to happen, she will too.
>>217274222Likely that, the RDA is already going full damage control mode and they'll probably look for a different method of establishing their goals now that they finally understand the costs of asserting themselves through force are outweighing the benefits due to the constant local pushback every time they tryI doubt they can contain the narrative in their image for long either so they'll resort to tending to the part of the garden that's closest instead and focus on developing bridgehead into an actual self-sustaining city by raping the immediate vicinity of its resources>>217274223>Jake went native because he learned to love and appreciate Na'vi culture>Quaritch went native because Varang is hot and pushes all the right buttonsThanksgiving gonna be real awkward for Spider
>>217274327>but as it stands, the saga could end hereOh, you're one of those
>>217274120>I think some people don't find what they're looking in these moviesThat's the thing, they put up a barrier preemptively and fail to engage with it even on grounds of neutrality, it's like good faith never even entered the conversation. I like giving movies the benefit of the doubt, I don't always manage to, but you'd think something as distanced from current year politics and universal as this wouldn't at least be given some credit beforehand.
>>217272798Not this I don't remember shit again. I could believe it with TWoW but no with FaA. Go check yourself on dementia, faggit.

>>217275714These shit takes are so tiresome.
>>217275751no. There's never been any reason for the RDA to take one back. Every ounce has to be calculated for the return journey. So dragging back a single 400lb alien who can't breath our air is kinda useless when we could bring back 400lbs of refined magic moon rock. Though it would be interesting if some ultra-rich mega investor bribed the RDA board to kidnap a na'vi and bring it back to earth so he could keep it in a personal zoo or something.
>>217275716It was never about eywa for varang and if her backstory is ever touched upon beyond a few passing lines it'll be evidentMangkwan were always aggressive even before her and probably had a very skewed view on eywa to begin with, the volcano was just the straw that broke the camel's back

I'm not the dorsal weapons autist but it would have been better to show humans adapting like that, it's not like they couldn't still lose.>halfway through the aerial descent in the initial ambush the fleet detects the ikran riders (instruments are down due to flux), opens fire and drops several; this ultimately doesn't matter, the Na'vi already get routed in the film and no exact losses are ever tracked>when Toruk grabs the Dragon, you could have him raked by dorsal weapons fire on the descent, but he just tanks it and ultimately survives it due to being massive and evolved for sustaining and healing injury; ultimately it just makes his independent action more badassLiterally doesn't even have to change anything, just gives the humans more of the credibility they've become short on.

>>217275501I think this one is actually right to delete, unlike almost all the others. >>217277430Kino schnoz
>>217278142WotW definitely benefit from it having been 10+ years since the first, so there no way 3 would ever beat it, but i think the american gross is definitely whats letting the movie down. Coulda been a 1.8 to 1.9 run imo if not for that
This movie has shown me how legitimately retarded the average moviegoer is. In what fucking universe does it make any sense for quaritch or varang to just die and not come back after this movie? Do people just sit there and watch the pretty colors without giving a single thought to the writing at all?
>>217278285Yeah. That's more of a box office problem than an Avatar problem. While I think F&A was never going to match the previous two films for the reasons you mentioned, it has still reached the ceiling of what the current cinema environment allows. Every film from Zootopia to Minecraft can't go higher than 1.5-2 billion.
>>217278348>Do people just sit there and watch the pretty colors without giving a single thought to the writing at all?Yes. The bulk of Avatar's money comes from """people""" who expect an action flick and switch their brains off the minute they enter the theater. They watch the movies for the fight scenes and the easily digestible "good guys" vs the "bad guys" plot
>>217271677insane ticket prices has to play a factor

I couldn't fucking believe what I was reading, a lot of people were arguing that no, Neytiri is just traumatized and has a good reason to be prejudiced because the aliens are trying to capture her home and yadda-yadda. These fucktards are like monkeys, they hear the words, but they don't understand the meaning behind them. All she was saying was a fact - Neytiri is a racist at the start of the third film because she hates humans for being humans and yes, we've been shown very clearly what got her to that point for two 3+ hour long movies, but she's the walking definition of a racist at the start of FaA. And she's Zoe fucking Saldaña, she's been playing this character for more than 15 years now and did so with passion for the character, the only person who knows more about Neytiri is Jim Cameron himself. It's incredible, normalfags are literal bio-robots with nobody home.

>>217279537Norm's wife is from the Olangi clan, which was decimated in the final battle of A1. The remnants of her clan were absorbed into Omatikaya. Norm was one of the people leading the charge so I think he's proven himself enough to be included in some tribal things and I doubt that Jake being the chief would object to their union and IMO she wouldn't ask him in the first place. Also, Norm is allowerd near the Spirit Tree, which is strictly forbidden for outsiders, so he's probably considered somewhat of a honorary member of the people at this point.
