It's a puzzle to me, they really gave up after the 2000s. I think it just wasn't as popular and everything became anime inspired comedy/fantasy stuff. Or maybe they couldn't think of any idea apart from long haired-ghost girl.
One Cut of the Dead is very clever, but it's more a comedy than a horror.
Just recently they've started pumping out some more though.

>similar movie with a woman’s body in the washing machine that gave me nightmares for weeks
Probably My Bloody Valentine (original) though the washing machine death was censored in the original release to hell and back like most kills of the movie but now it's restored on new releases

well here's something
>In December that same year, it was announced that Sony was officially moving forward with the third film following the early responses to The Bone Temple, with Murphy in talks to reprise his role as Jim and Garland confirmed to write the film.

It's called Window by Bob Leman. The broad strokes and ending are the same but some of the details are different enough to make it interesting even if you've seen that episode. Like how some crackpot intentionally opened the rift fucking around with ESP and other weird stuff. I think Bill Pullman's character has a better motivation too. The guy in the story is just nostalgiafagging for simpler days.

Do they worship He Who Walks Behind the Rows?

If you’re talking about Children of the Corn then yeah the children in Gatlin do worship “He Who Walks Behind the Rows.”

I wonder which came first. Children of the Corn or Who Can Kill a Child

His bitch wife roastie character is really annoying. Are all middle aged roasties like this? Do they all want open boarders?
>>

Remember anon. It's one of the few films with practical effects. If it does well at the box office we might get to see more real mammal kino.
I want to see another killer boar. Or kangaroo. Perhaps a deadly hippo.

Just finished Who Can Kill a Child?
That stupid simp cop at the end. Good movie though. I recommend it.

How did they manage to make so many movies out of a 50 page novel?

It's fucking hilarious that Children of the Corn out of all things has that many sequels. I guess it was just high concept VHS store fodder

this is basically all Burgerland films now. nudity status though?
>>
>>217288325
lmao nobody gets naked in movies anymore, barely even get bare feet anymore because these nepo baby shit actresses wont show feet
>>
>>217288301
Hell no, I tried and the first 20 minutes were awful, but I should've expect that from a 'modern re-imagining" of an 80s original.

>>217288325
Watch the 1982 original. Loads of nudity.
>>
>>217288336
There's more nudity in television and film than there has ever been.
>>
>>217288336
all the nudity contrasting with the feminist angles was the whole reason the first one was unique. it was like Starship Troopers.
>>217288388
I just read a comment that said they replaced all female nudity with male nudity kek. this shit is not sustainable.

Nah that ain't true.
When nudity happens it tends to be more hardcore or sex scene focused now, but there's less male focused nudity. i.e. hot chicks getting their tits out because it's fun to see. too misogynist for men to be catered to of course.

Just finished. Nifty little political supernatural thriller, one of those weirdo hybrid movies that thrived in the 70s like The Visitor or God Told Me To, that I guess we're trying to ride the coattails of The Omen. This one has a senator whose son is dying of leukemia and a party clown who magical cures him and does all kinds of other inexplicable shit that makes the senator's wife fall in love with him. David Hemmings is the senator, and all that there really is to this is implication, the wizard guy doing shit that makes him suspicious seeming but that aren't any answers and it's just a mood piece. I don't even think anyone dies. Fun if you like this kind of thing.
>>
>>217289140
Same as God Told Me To, this seems like it was written for David Bowie to star in but they couldn't get him.

Seconds was kino. I'd pick Carnival of Souls over it, but still, keeps evolving.

Just finished. Rewatch of a favorite because I recommended it to a friend. I love the poster, it's so haphazard, just like the movie. There's no possessions or exorcisms in the movie at all, it's about a guy who runs an insane asylum shaped like a castle and keeps loonies in cages in a dungeon with a guillotine in it. People get killed by something and the cops start poking around and generally the movie makes no sense, which is what I like about it. There's a "monster" roaming around that's just red hoses getting shaken around at the camera. The castles supposed to be in the middle of the desert, but a nurse tries escaping and gets chased through a forest by the mister into a log cabin. Very very 70s and low budgets, one of those movies written by the lead actor who was some nobody. Favorite moment was some patient wakes up screaming and finds a rotting corpse in her bed, and we never see that patient again or find out whose corpse it was. Same director as Voodoo Heartbeat which made even less sense.
