>boomers wrote a dozen movies about how much they hated this>looks incredibly comfy What was their problem?
>>217279912>comfy personalized cubicle with privacythey hated it because they wanted the next generation to have it worse
>>217279912That's some 2010s millenial "fun" office where they have a ping pong table and and a trampoline and free candy. The guy is dressed in a hoodie and sweatpants too.
Did they?
>hated this And what is this exactly
>>217280824>the next generationDo those dual computer monitors seem like they're from the 1980s?
>>217280900Cubicles. Still 10x better than an open office.
I thought it was Generation X and they right female colleagues and HR are the worst.
>>217280927>Cubicles.That is not what boomer cubicles looked like>>217279912Boomers were already retired when this pic was taken
>>217279912That was Gen X that did that. They were all anti corporate punk no fucks given, fuck the institution, until they realized those cubicle jobs gave them everything they needed in life. Then they all quietly got those jobs and shut the fuck up and disappeared. Hence why everyone focuses on actual boomers and millenials.Gen X is the entire reason we're in our predicament we're in now in life. They talked big game for like a decade but made zero changes then took cozy jobs and disappeared. This made boomers think they were in the clear to fuck up the world and make it in their image then millennials got targeted by every shitty life event to happen in the past 25 years and actually fight for change so they became the enemy.
>>217280953Boomers still aren't fucking retired, our fucking shitty president is literally a boomer and only one year off from being considered part of the silent generation. Old people won't fuck off and let us live.
itt: browns trying to feel important
>>217281095Oh and to mention, our last president that everyone made fun of for being too old etc. WAS from the silent generation. Another fun fact, Bill Clinton is the same age as Trump and was president fucking 33 years ago. That's how much old people won't go away and leave actual living people alone.
>>217281095You don't deserve to live.
just because the alternative is worse doesn't make this miserable too
>>217281095>our presidentAmerican president have always been old.But if you fuckin look at who's working in offices now it's certainly not still 70 year olds who barely figured out how to use fax machines. Maybe you have some working as wal mart greeters. Not in offices in any capacity, they need to sign into an app on their phone and their phone is just a landline in their living room.
>>217281136and why is that?
>>217281130You may have our first millennial president elected in two years.
>>217281180Oh trust me, they are still in offices. My current manager is a retired government employee who has her full pension and she's literally in her 70s and still works full time for us.
I used to work in a cubicle at work. It wasn't bad at all. I could still talk to my coworkers, but it gave me a little bit of privacy. I'm not a complete asocial weirdo though. I got along well with the people I worked with. I have my own office now. I get up and go talk to people if I need to. I kind of miss the cubicle in a larger office. This job is much better and I make a ton more money. But being in your own office is lonely sometimes.
>>217281217Doubtful, the democrat party is run by old idiots who refuse to let go of their grip to the youth. I'm sure they'll push forth yet another candidate that isn't the best option. Of course, this is if our new dictator doesn't just say nuh uh to elections and have ICE come to our doors and take us away for trying to have one.
>>217281254Yeah personal offices can suck if they aren't in prime locations. Definitely a thing that kind of sucks about WFH. I'm in my basement at the same desk 24/7 between work and hanging out online and have to come to places like 4chan or go to the bar to socialize now. Both with suboptimal people.
>>217279912I'm an attorney so I have an office. Only humiliation ritual jobs use cubes.
>>217279912Don't you see? How can you feel alive if you aren't destroying your body and risking serious injury doing a shitty blue collar job.
>>217281310You need a separate computer and desk for work and one for home that are two entirely different places in your home, anon. Put your personal computer up on the main floor of the house and you won't feel like you've been sentenced to the work dungeon for the rest of your life. You can actually feel the difference between work and homelife if you split it up and only go down there for work. Don't hang around down there when you don't have to. Treat that area like a real office you come and go to.
We didn't know how good we had it. Now AI will replace all of our office jobs and we have to go back into the lithium mines and onto the fields to pick cotton for the overlords
>>217281313when you're talking to the devil through a portal it's good to have your own office.
>>217281217but weve never had a gen x president
>>217281487I prosecute violent criminal. Jk I do insurance defense lol fuck u
>>217281487You can't summon the devil in a private office. You need room for the altar and the sacrifice and the chanting acolytes, which means you've got to reserve a conference room when you want to consult with the man downstairs.
>>217281474Luckily I only work ~2 hours a day and I do it in 1 hr intervals so it's not that big of a deal. I used to have it separately before my GF moved in but then furniture changed with that and I lost my chair. I had a chair with square armrests and it was directly in front of my TV so I bought a shelf board from lowes and sat my laptop on it and it was perfect. My house is pretty small (like 1600sqft) so I don't have many options with 2 people living here and rooms being dedicated to purposes. I gave my GF my old spare room that used to be storage for her office so luckily she can do the separation thing which is important as her job actually sucks her attention for the full 8 hrs.The worst thing really is just the lack of socializing with people though. I used to go to the bar every wednesday just to people watch and yap with the bartender and shit. My old career was in logistics so I used to interact with a lot of different people day to day so I miss it a lot more than other people might.
>>217279912I work in a cubicle and don't mind it muchAlthough I got 8 foot tall walls and don't share space with anyone, and I'm in a central location in my city so I can run for decent coffee or a meal on my lunch breaks unlike the burbs. I'm a pigger though so no personalization because of criminals coming and going
>>217279912yeah in the 90s everyone hit vape pens and watched twitch and porn at work
>>217281662That's nice you only have to work two hours a day. I hear you about the interaction with others. I like interacting with other people and don't think I would like to work from home for that exact reason. Maybe you could join an adult sports league, book club, or something along those lines where you purposely have meetups with people.
>>217281854Oh yeah I do, I play hockey twice a week. I'm actually about to head out to my game in about 45 minutes. Best part of the week, too bad it's expensive and only last about an hour.
>>217279912I would eat my own balls in 2026 for a job like that. I just want to fucking sit somewhere with AC and be able to get a loan for a small flat, and then retire. As it is, just to survive I will have to work shitty gig economy jobs that I can't even work anymore because browns are on it (10% of my country has been replaced already in the past 2 years), and I have no inheritance to rent out like most people who stayed in this shitty Eastern Euro hellhole. Fuck everything.
>>217281662lol nice troll retard
>>217282134...what's the troll exactly?
>>217282144The retardedly blatant humblebragging in every single sentence?
>>217281052>Then they all quietly got those jobs and shut the fuck up and disappeared. Hence why everyone focuses on actual boomers and millenials. They were always the fakest generation. Whenever you talk to a Gen X they're always quick to insist upon the "rebel" qualities of their generation. Boomers are the heels, they won and they don't care what happens to anyone else. Millennials know they're cringe (the men know, anyway - the women are power-hungry psychopaths), and Gen Z know it's all bullshit.Gen X really are the most lame out of everyone, because they really believe that they're rebels. They're fucking gay.
>>217282186Who said I was humble? Also I fucking earned it so I don't give a fuck. I worked in a warehouse from 15 to like 32. It fucking sucked ass. So yeah, I'm gonna talk about my current job because I fucking love it and it allows me to live life.
>>217282288Millennial women are basically power hungry psychopaths because they are the end result of 40 years of womens rights. Their push for equality disrupted the job market and now they have a bunch of pointless well paying jobs in "HR" things that aren't necessary to feel good about themselves and be independent strong women. Gen X are even worse but they just don't go online about it because they're old. Go look at a bunch of high up execs and managers to any business and you'll see a shrewd lonely (probably brunette) gen x girl.
>>217282312You don't have a job dude, you have a bullshit nepo baby free money position, and you didn't earn it because no one can earn working 2 hours per day.
>>217282419Rolling back women's rights is one thing I've always wanted to see but my generation doesn't quite have the voting bloc formed yet. But the younger ones will.
>>217279912At my work the boomer cubicles looked like that with all kinds of junk and no one under 50 decorated them at all
>>217279912The problem was not cubicles, if you had a high-walled cubicle... that was peak comfy. Somebody sold CEOs on open floorplans, that was the end, those fucking suck. Company I worked for went from keeping devs in basement rooms with big metal cubicles to giving us windows in a huge single room where we were making eye contact with everyone all the time, massive downgrade, I quit.
>>217279912>>217280880>>217280927Threadly reminder lads, one monitor or three.Never two.If you have two you end up using one as a mian and the other as a secondary and start getting neck aches from always looking to one side. One good one and two cheap ones is the sweet spot then as you upgrade your main your old main becomes a secondary. You're welcome
>>217282525You're an idiot child, clearly. Have you worked any job ever? Almost all jobs except physical labor jobs can be done in a few hours usually. Most jobs are dead air waiting for things to be done, it's why there's so much office chit chat and bullshit going on. Hell, even when I worked at the target distribution center for 2 months while transitioning careers I was on 12 hour shifts and every single day you had a set amount of items that needed picked and once they were picked you either went to another department to help or you went home, and sometimes you could go home right when you showed up because they had more manpower than man hours. The reason I work 2 hours is because it's actually 2 hours of work with no distractions. It's legal compliance and it's easy as fuck to get in the zone and pull data to complete my case amount for the day. I have no one bothering me, I have no one over my shoulder, it's literally sit down turn on screen and hammer away til done. No phone calls, no meetings, no emails. For reference, new hires we recently acquired take 2-3x as long to get their work done but are almost as efficient as me now.Unless you went to school for a specific interest and got hired into a field almost everyone in the entire working class has a "nepo" job. Literally everyone I know has jobs that friends got them and vice versa, that's literally how the world works. This is only a complaint that zoomers and kids have. When you grow up you'll learn that almost every single job in the world can be done by pretty much anyone and anything job specific you need to know you can learn on the job in the first few weeks so of course people hire people they know as the biggest unknown of hiring people is whether they will gel with you or be an annoying piece of shit you're forced to work with.
>>217279912>mentally ill zoomer with zero life experiences can't comprehend why being locked up like an animal isn't "comfy"just kys at this point, you're living in hell.
>>217282843tl;dr nepo retard confirmed
>computers (and other digital tech) have been around since the 70s >every boomer is always like “I’m not good with all that techno mumbo jumbo”I lost count of how many times I’ve had to set up an email or “fix the Roku thingy” for an old relative
>>217279912How do I get rid of the reflection off my glasses on zoom calls with a setup like this? I always look like a flashback just went off.
>>217282843Used to have designated areas for fucking between bored horny employeesBut since metoo in many businesses the places are basically sex segregated and women are losing their shit while the men are doing better. Even HR is being called because men aren't interacting anymore and men have started to file lawsuits over it. It's gotten bad in that way. However profits seem to be up.
>>217281052It's spelled j e w s. You're welcome.
>>217282775for me, it's four. picrel is a pretty good setup that has my needs covered for all occasions.
