It's premier week for the eagerly anticipated new series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. Clip Sign:https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rfceDD0lcNU

>>217301311kek
>>217300699
>>217301281this character would be perfect if she had purple hair
>>217300778The character design just pisses me off. Clearly Jem'Hadar despite being half Klingon or some shit, even when it doesn't make sense to the lore of the species simply because "fuck you, we own the IP." And it's not the millennials you want to blame for everything doing it, it's Gen X with the righteousness thinking they're smarter, better, can rewrite history in each & every way they see fit.Just depressed since it feels like they want this to fail & kill the franchise. This isn't made for anyone outside of the c-suite seeking good vibes so they can tell the stockholders that they acknowledged woke people as well, despite that audience also wanting nothing to do with this slop.
>>217301434>and some of dem french fried potaters mhmmmm
>>217301360
>>217301345Relatability and relevance is at the forefront of the platform.
>>217301497Philosophical enlightenment issues that actually made the franchise progressive scare millionaire board room members/producers so they plaster everything with bogus race and sexist bullshit.Really nothing makes me hate women of color more than the heckin bisexual quirk chungus they/them characters you dumb cunts write. None of you are subtle enough to write a Jadzia eat shit.
>>217301597don't have a seizure over it
>>217301624That was below the belt.
>>217301647i know but... I laughed
>>217301281Goddamn that was terrible. Tig used to be ok like 20 years ago when she just did standup. No, people WILL NOT be quoting Oscar Wilde 1200 years from now, most people never quote him nowadays. Who do you quote that lived 1200 years ago? Preciously few and definitely not some ancient britfag. Not sure ST:ACK! can even be hate watched.Gene was right about Jews as its clear they've totally ruined Trek. Shows been in steady declining since Jews took over and its only gotten worse as more and more of them get brought in.
>>217301624So women in their head think female characters can't be unlikeable, because god forbid they are a bitch, but then they end up writing these female characters with the most superficial flaws, and it just makes them unlikeable in the process.
>>217301677>Not sure ST:ACK! can even be hate watched.I'm gonna give it my best but it won't be easy.
whats her face just won a Golden Globe for playing a character that is a realistic miserable cunt protagonist in Pluribus and everyone seems to agree she's a good character so it really is just a matter of they WANT to make shit no one will like because it's bad as a fuck you to the audience
>>217301683I'm not going to verify this post as it is sexist and demeaning.
>>217301677NuTrek being an abomination to Gene’s legacy is starting to make more sense now.
>>217301718>NOOOOOOO SPOCKNo human can survive the radiation thats in ST:ACK
>>217301785Atleast the DS9 episode wasn't preachy as fuck and just did some standard fan service for views. Same with Enterprises Mirror episodes, just good fun fan service that is watchable. Its like the jews in charge of trek bought an insurance policy and are actively destroying the show in order to make money off it failing.Look at the comments in the youtube clip. This isn't a cynical 4chan thing, normies hate this shit too.
>>217301837The top rated comment on the ST:ACK trailer is something like “Bold of you to leave comments open for this.”
>>217301281i regret watching theseit exceeded my expectations in low quality banter
>>217301281>Oscar Wilde
>>217301837It's just propaganda and demoralisation masquerading as entertainment. Turning a profit is a secondary concern, if even that.
>>217301953this timeline must not be allowed to continue
>>217301972I watched them muted.
>>217302123>KREE!>The leola root stew is done, gather around the table so we might feast.
>>217301281why...why is she like that? i mean i literally think I could act as well as that. is this an outtake or something? this isn't actually in the show right?
>>217301879We call it ACA here. It is the Trek way.
>>217300665If Neelix had merged with a less beloved/useful crewman, would Janeway have murdered the freak anyway?
>>217302381More like CACA!
>>217302036Yeah and the "I love that dude" comment which makes zero sense. As if only Oscar Wilde had any commentary about the relationship between age and wisdom. But hey at least they didn't do 'memberberries a d just quote James T Kirk or AdMirAl Riker. Dukat prequel series, even a cartoon voiced by Alamino, would've been 1000% better than this shit
>>217302381I believe the technical term is ACK!, Commander.
>>217301472the grain added to trekpu is nice here
>>217301879KekYeah its a hot pile of shit. And after years of hot piles of shit. Isn't this the last of Kurtzman? God let it be the end of Kurtman.
>>217302387No, Janeway only acted the way she did because she was besties with Tuvok. It was also probably the main reason she violated the temporal prime directive at finale. Which is funny because I dont think anywhere in the show they established any episodes fully exploring their relationship or developed any significant chemistry. You were just supposed to take it at the writers word that Tuvok and Janeway had this bond. Really dropped the ball there, I guess they had this idea to do a Picard/Guinan type thing but failed.
>>217301953A daring synthesis
>>217302523Hegelian, if I'm not mistaken.
>>217302431I vote for ACK! because thats clearly the reaction 99% of viewers will have before clicking it off or gouging their eyes out. Also ACA could be easily confused with the Affordable Care Act which is its only controversy we needn't get mixed up in this Kurtzman abomination.
>>217302431The first three letters are how we do it in Starfleet. If you're a rough and tumble sort of guy I suppose I might allow DEM.
>>217302621that freakin pic man
>>217301281Utterly vacuous and utterly grim.

>>217302621Downright peculiar
>>217300665What is the best Neelix episode ? Of the episodes I've seen I pick Mortal Coil. Neelix dies in an accident and is brought back to life with borg technology. He suffers an existential crisis because he experiences no afterlife when he was dead.
>>217302897Probably, he doesn't exactly look thrilled in that photo.
1. Please be a female Caitian.2. Oh, the incel chuds are going to be SO angry....
>>217302822Oh, you'll watch it.
>>217302736Zesty zestyHeres my nonsensical pitch for a new ST series that is still lightyears better than ACK: You've heard of 7 of 9, but what about 9 of 10?Because, whatever, fuck it, why not? Sweeney will probably even whip out her thunder-jugs to knock out the badguy of the week. Nope.... we get Tig Naurto lecturing us (did she really say "you're a genius who owns all the suffering" wtf does that even mean?) Oh boy.
>>217302829uhhh
>>217302829A thought just occurred: another benefit (to the jews) of current-year Hollywood writing being so uniformly dreadful may be that it further inflates the value of AI stocks.
>>217302829Slop of the highest order.
>>217303005Remember that time Jeri Ryan's husband made her go swinging with him? Sure I have steak at home but maybe I can trade it to the wagie for a mcgriddle! Was he gay so he could see men's penises? Penii?

>>217302947>&has a relationship I won't spoilIt's the hologram chick. They're going to do another Naked Time/Naked Now and that's how she discovers she can have sex.
>>217303240She's gonna get pounded silly.
>>217303094Lots of good information and perspective in her SFA preview. But she also gets overly emotional at times because of her 'mones. It's just television Miss.

>>217303335Someone has to use the strap on.
>>217303279I cut her some slack tho.
>>217301597>jadzia writing>subtleJadzia is one of the worst, if not the singular worst, main characters in all of Star Trek. Even non-entities like Travis Mayweather shit up their series less.
>>217303296Look closely and you can see her lips are uneven and loose.
>>217303296sounds like how someone who had a stroke and half of their face is numb or something would talk
>>217303335Lesbos do stuff to their holes with advance devices sometimes. Bhole included. I saw a documentary on xhamster about it.
>>217303374even if she wasn't a bad character how is conveying to the audience that she is an alien that has lived multiple lifetimes in different hosts by constantly having her say>I LIVED AS MANY DIFFERENT PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT GENDERS AND PERSONALITIES VIA MY PREVIOUS HOSTS.be considered subtle?
>>217303410That'll be quite enough, crewman.
If I'm starting from the beginning, how many of the series can I watch before it gets shitty?
>Press a button>Kills all the admiralsDoes this improve Starfleet?
Almost there...
>>217303502You need the grumpy admirals to make the captains look cool.
>>217303481>Tig clears her throat: "Cadet ZestiWorf, approach the stage, lift your skirt and seat yourself upon the sybian." Tig picks up the remotr control: "Grandma is gonna show you how to go bull riding...."
>>217303497it varies but pretty much everyone agrees nothing is worth watching after ENT.
>>217303388>>217303391Must be that or the fact shes a southerner? But like, thats a weird southern accent plus I doubt Georgia will have an accent 1200 years from now. Atleast not the current one, maybe futuremex or something.
>>217303659I honestly do not understand the people who don't. It is sad watching people defend garbage day after day.
Paramount paid him nicely didn't they?
>>217303659Reading through the thread, DS9 has a poorly written bisexual alien girl. Can I just watch the original and Next Generation?
>>217303693man's gotta eat.
>>217303731you can't skip DS9 just because it has Dax that's crazy talk
>>217303474Doctor Who was better with a character who was an old man in a young man's body. That's the only thing that franchise has ever been better at than Star Trek.
Terry Farrell is way more attractive than Jeri Ryan holy shit.
>>217303772hear hear
>>217303512Captain, if we invert the tacyon emitters it may be possible to reverse the flow of time and make the premier of ST:ACK get further and further away...Make it so
>>217303759>just becauseI assume if there's one character like that, there are more heavy handed/faggy characters. Is it just the one?
>>217303807nevermind, you should skip it
Worlds richest man sits around making adolescent comments about diversity trek. He is one of us.
>>217303693is there really someone out there who was not going to watch this burning heap of horseshit until they saw picard post about it? what is the god damned point of this shit? who the hell cares?
>>217303807DS9 is pretty safe. When they do crossdressing its Quark trying to scam someone out of money. Garak is gay coded but its more a fan theory and not really part of the character on the show, even Dax's sexuality is bs because she marries Worf, dies, gets a hotter younger replacement who can act who fucks Worf and Bashir and probably some other dudes cause shes a petite little slut with a confused wormperson in her
>>217303815Sounds like there are more characters like that and you're trying to be dismissive and to imply that I was looking for things to get mad about as opposed to just not watching to watch hundreds of episodes of something that's poorly written. That was the answer I needed, thanks.
you could argue future Jem'Hadar are all naturally obese due to the fact that when they genetically engineered them to not need white, as a tradeoff it slowed their insane metabolism down making them tend to be fat
>>217303832I have never wanted somebody to be hung and quartered more than Elon.
>>217303875damn, can't get anything past you.
>>217303731Jadzia's problem is that she's an over-ambitious character to write. Some members of her species (Trill) can become hosts for these slug creatures (Symbionts) that live more-or-less forever. So she's simultaneously a young woman and also has hundreds of years of experience, including being besties with the captain in her past life. The writers never figure out how much of her personality is supposed to come from the Symbiont and how much from the Trill host and it just flip-flops constantly. One episode she remembers something from her 2nd ever host and the next apparently her previous host can keep his memories secret from her.If they'd managed to nail it Jadzia could've been an amazing character but ultimately she ends up being a let-down.That said, DS9 on the whole is many people's favourite Trek series (including mine) because of the sharper lens it focuses on the existing parts of the Galaxy, the introduction of a new major threat bringing interesting political upheaval between the major powers and challenge the optimistic utopian ideals of the federation without outright rejecting them nutrek style.
>>217303872Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
>>217303832> He is one of us.No, he isn't. Its just how bad ST controlled by jews is. Even a bellend like Elon can rip on it.Him "being one of us" would be like, "clearly Tori's therapeutic strategy of eating lots of chocolate and unlimited food created by replicators has unintended consequences on society a millennia later..."That requires an understanding of the canon and some sense of humor. Elon has neither.
>>217303832Elon was probably watching TNG live. Not many here can say that.
>>217303940> Jadzia's problemDon't forget Terri, who is very hot, never acted before and was a MODEL they hired. Sure, lots of talented actors were/are also models but it sounds like she had zero acting experience and got hired for being hot. That didn't help. Pretty much all the other cast were veterans so her skill-gap was obvious.
>>217303940>the introduction of a new major threat bringing interesting political upheaval between the major powers and challenge the optimistic utopian ideals of the federation without outright rejecting them nutrek style. It's scifi so I'd be watching it for cool tech stuff, and because scifi is (or can be) a great platform for exploring different political and social ideas through different lenses. I assumed if DS9 had shitty characters like what was described then they probably weren't handling the other stuff well, but if I like Next Generation I'll try DS9.
>>217303940why did you ruin my plan to get this fag to leave DS9 alone you fucking retard? now we'll have to read him screeching about how Sisko is a nigger
>>217303832Officially: most people can get corrective medicine, but a small portion of the population is allergic, like Kirk.
but my good friend Ben NEVER LIEEESSSS
>>217303940The point of the Symbiont changing hosts is to experience new paths of life. Dax sits back and enjoys the Jadzia show most of the time, especially in the shower.
>>217304159The slug's penis is fused to her clitoris.
>>217304078TWOK was using a prop to remind the audience that the original crew was old as fuck and that starships were for younger people. It was never meant to become a canon thing. In fact, the way TWOK was written it was considered to be the last trek movie since Nimoy wanted out and since the other stalwart (Bones) was also pretty old. In anything TWOK was the original "academy" spinoff; they could've started a new series with the youngbloods with Kristy Ally as the new Spock and maybe kept Shanter around for a while until a new captain found their footing. It was a gag, as was the book as a gift (Spock gave him a book whose main theme is self sacrifice for others benefit as an act of love and Bones gives him reading glasses so he can actually study the book.)Goddamn media literacy is bad these days.
>>217304074I wonder if Shran would have referred to Sisko as "brown skin"
>>217304200There are several other examples, mostly from the animated series.
>>217304200No it's canon
>>217304027DS9 and TNG compliment each other well. It’s one of TVs best spinoffs, alongside Frasier and Better Call Saul.
>>217304200>reddit spacing>media literacypetaQ
Replicator water tastes funny
>>217304233What do the books say?
>>217304233>>217304234The people writing TWOK never ever intended for people to be using their decision to give Kirk read glasses as plot elements nearly a half century later. They were using recognizable objects to convey messages to the audience, "oh look Kirk is an old man now."The fact that corrective lenses are a thing in a futuristic universe 1200 years from now is retarded. We're at the point where we will soon be able to grow replacement lenses and insert them into peoples eyes to fix them.1200 years from now in a universe with FTL travel and shit they should be able to correct simple eye problems like slightly deformed lenses with ease. Probably in the embryo stage or soon after.Hell, why not just beam out the bad lens and beam in a corrected one made from the dna of the person? But this is a minor complaint about ACK. There will be plenty of reasons to hate it.

>>217304074Why are redditors such dumb faggots?
>>217304360If they haven't cured baldness they sure as shit haven't cured bad eyes.
>>217304241Frasier is literally the last long show I finished watching and I was looking for some other long show to watch while I eat and whatnot, which is why I was looking at Star Trek to begin with.
>>217304431Why long shows in particular?
>>217304421They have cured baldness but Picard likes the look and the freedom to never be chained to a comb, brush or shampoo and conditioner. Its addressed in the series numerous times.
>>217304360Even f Kirk is just doing it in universe for stylistic reasons maybe this new captain is too. Whatever canonical reason Kirk had his should be able to be applied to the new captain. The new show looks like shit regardless of the glasses situation.
>>217304431next gen is the best of star trek shows for comfy background watching, with DS9/VOY being close behind for the same production qualityTOS is nice in the background but has lots of fun but sometimes annoying sound effectsENT is good background too as long as you like the intro theme song

>>217304649>TOS is terrible for falling asleep to. So many sirens and whistles every episode.that is my exact experiencedozing off on the couch and then a klaxon starts wailing
>>217304360The idea of the time skip was peak kurtzman retardation. The excuse of "the burn" doesn't really cover the other issues that make it feel completely wrong. It was already established that the Federation will eventually have ships like the Enterprise J that from the concepts could travel to other galaxies and be operated by thought interfaces, and after that timeships that can presumably go anywhere at any time. And those despite being canon were very nebulous and rightfully vague. By all rights going forwards hundreds of years past TNG era things would probably get a lot weirder for humanity, to the point that things would appear alien to even the viewer. Instead we got a situation where everything is the same but warp nacelles are unattached and they all have portable insta-transporters.That's like if retards wanted to continue C.S. Forester's British Naval novels 1000 years in the future and the British Empire and naval culture/ships are still around sailing the seas (but.. but made of metal instead of wood! and faster!), and they don't even conceive of the idea that humanity might have entered into space or that culture/ideas might have changed.
>>217304581Cajun food sucks. Its like big pot boils of basic ass foods like corn on the cob and potatoes with these bug-like things they find burrowed in the grounds all around Naw Orleans. Then they add random ass spices to cover up the muck flavor of the sea bugs that also like to crawl onto land and dig up lawn.Fake Cajun is better which is why Pop Eyes is a thing. Take real food like fried chicken and just call it Cajun cause you added pepper to it.No one wants to eat some old black mans oysters. Even in an utopian future world. They still have hot pockets and pizza rolls in the 23rd century and replicators just spit them out instantly. Why go out to eat when I could replicate 2000 pizza rolls and not feel guilty about eating only 100 of them??
>>217304803>replicate 2000 pizza rolls and not feel guilty about eating only 100 of themSo you'd just toss 1900 pizza rolls out the window, or would you teleport them somewhere??

>>217304452I watch them while I cook, eat, and am getting ready for bed, so I go through them pretty quickly. I'm rewatching IT Crowd now but that won't last long.>>217304519It's not really background, I'm still paying attention.
>>217304824No, I'd dereplicate them into pure energy and not worry about it or have my kids shucking oysters in the back ally like a broke negroidian. DS9 writers suffered from "but I want to tell MY story" every so often. Baseball, New Orleans and the holographic lounge singer were all examples of the writers wedging their personal projects into a narrative that didn't need them.Theres a difference between having a bartender who has real liquor because the replicators don't make it or Riker frying some exotic eggs he stole from the ovaries of the latest alien he banged and a dude operating an old fashion restaurant in a civilization that doesn't do that shit anymore.
>>217304932chronologically is the kino watch order in that casethere's lots of old scifis that had respectable runs too, bab5, farscape, stargate would be the largest next to trek (other than dr, who which is a gargantuan series altogether)
>>217304882Shit tier food filled with bugs. No thanks.Imagine how awesome the pizza rolls and pop tarts are 200 years from now. I bet they never get old or freezer burn. TOS/TNG/DS9/VOY 200-300 years in future. FTL travel, extended life spans, food replicators.ST ACK ~1200 years in the future. We should be seeing super advance tech. Like instead of having a replicator make your food you just have nanobots inside you that beam your shit out of your colon, converts it to pizza rolls and beams it into your hand one at a time. This is why ACK will fail. They went so far ahead the tech should be mindblowing but instead (in jewish fashion) they'll just be stories about gay klingons and jaher madars lezzin out with Tig while Picardo injects borg nanites into the nor al white people that turns them brown and gay as hell.

>>217302510>Which is funny because I dont think anywhere in the show they established any episodes fully exploring their relationship or developed any significant chemistry. You were just supposed to take it at the writers word that Tuvok and Janeway had this bond.Shitty characterization in Voyager? Unheard of.
Self replying shitpost about Voyager that's quite obviously full of shit? Very novel.

Listened to a couple of episodes of the D-Con Chamber podcast. The one with Berman and Braga was reasonably interesting. The one with Bakula was extremely dull with a large section of the interview dedicated to the dietary requirements of the various members of Scott Bakula's family. Dominic Keating comes off as a bit of a moron while Connor Trinneer seemed to me to be much more perceptive.
>>217302510try watching the show, cocksucker. from Prime Factors in season 1>JANEWAY: I don't even know where to start. I want you to explain to me how you, of all people, could be involved in this.>TUVOK: It is quite simple, Captain. You have made it clear on many occasions that your highest goal for the crew is to get them home. But in this instance, your standards would not allow you to violate Sikarian law. Someone had to spare you the ethical dilemma. I was the logical choice, and so I chose to act.>JANEWAY: You did it for me because you knew I couldn't.>TUVOK: I accept the consequences of my actions. I expect to loose my commission and to be court-martialled when we return to Federation space.>JANEWAY: You are one of my most valued officers and you are my friend. It is vital that you understand me here. I need you, but I also need to know that I can count on you. You are my counsel, the one I turn to when I need my moral compass checked. We have forged this relationship for years and I depend on it. I realise you made a sacrifice for me, but it's not one I would have allowed you to make. You can use logic to justify almost anything. That's it's power, and it's flaw. From now on, bring your logic to me. Don't act on it behind my back.>TUVOK: You have my word. My logic was not in error, but I was.

Like I said I dont remember there ever being a Voyager episode with Janeway and Tuvok having an adventure together with good chemistry/character building. Even that one episode with Sulu was mainly Janeway wandering in Tuvok's mind and asking him things she should have known from knowing him so long. They rea;;y needed an episode like Time's Arrow which cemented Picard and Guinan's relationship.
