That scene was cute asf

It's a smart show and ahead of its time. Nobody else thought to parody superheroes in the 60s. And yet it was more faithful to the comics than most Batman versions.

Holy fuck you really are a 70 year old boomer. What dead media are you going to reference next … playboy? National lampoon? No one remembers or cares, and samefagging isn’t going to change your pathetic lonely trip down memory lane and whatever rape-filled childhood or retardation you’re trying to hide with it.

Get professional psychiatric counselling and medication. Seriously.

You're a faggot if you can't find enjoyment in this show. And I say that as a massive Burton and Nolan appreciator.
>>
>>217303793
Even Burton's Batman had a healthy amount of whimsy, and to a lesser extent the first of Nolan's films, and that's part of what made them work.

I've been marathoning the series and the boomers were right, this show is great. The jokes are all clever and the atmosphere is so fun, it's refreshing to see a show where you are handed an adventure that wraps up in two episodes. The greatest pill to swallow is that capeshit works best when its unashamed by its own goofiness instead of trying to cram the genre into a grounded reality

>>
>>217307599
If I had a way of posting the animation, I would have.

I thought it was 35, the second part of 34; but it looks like my digital version are numbered wrong, and it's 34 afterall.

But a great series either way.
>>
>>217307157
But I thought the problem everyone had with Marvel is that it didn't take itself seriously and everything was a joke. Which is it?
>>
>>217307804
The difference is that marvel winks too much at the audience but Batman plays it straight and lets the viewer figure it out themselves. Ant-Man and Dr.Strange for example both spend half their movies mocking their own premise and names for being silly. Batman will fight a guy who is themed around eggs and not question it.
>>
>>217308184
Yeah. There's a difference between a hero fighting a silly villain but taking it 100% seriously and a hero fighting a serious villain but not taking it seriously at all. The former invests you in the conflict even if the concept is silly, whereas the latter takes you out. If the characters in the movie/show don't even care about what's going on, then why should I as a viewer?

Hot take(?)
Eartha Kitt was the best Catwoman
I'm not a fan of how Julie Newmar mumbled and slurred her words.
Eartha Kitt went the opposite way. Her delivery was razor sharp, and she was really good at rolling her R's to sound like purring.
I watched the show as a comedy, so the dialog was king. Kitt was better at delivering her lines.
If you watched it to goon, then Julie Newmar was better.

>>
>>217301891
And don't forget the joker!
>>
>>217310045
I think was the audience expectations/tonal whiplash that came from succeeding Burton’s movies. There was plenty of time between West and Keaton to set them apart while Keaton, Kilmer and Clooney were packed together with some vague continuity. It doesn’t help that Returns was too dark for some people and switching moods in Forever only pissed off the people who stuck around. Schumacher’s humor also didn’t feel as sharp as the ‘66 show
>>
Imagine if original joker saw the dark knight

>>
>>217310357
Yes, if the Schumacher movies were made first I think people would be easier on them, but since Batman 1989 proved you can take the character more seriously it just didn’t make sense to see Arnold’s Mr. Freeze less than 10 years later
