Quite frankly, is he too old to direct movies? He's almost 80 fucking years old. He has alluded to wanting to direct a Dead Space live-action movie. since its one of his favorite horror games.
>>217311233I thought he only said that as a joke because Dead Space basically ripped him off
It's crazy how many 80+ men nowadays are still in positions of power or at the head of creative projects, honestly it just feels wrong and imo they don't really have anything to offer anymore
>>217311233There's no way a Dead Space movie would be good considering how they even fucked up the remake by having Isaac speak.
>>217311331Really? Is John Carpenter ripping off Mike Stoklasas bit of claiming to have invented things that have existed for decades before their supposed invention of them?
>>217311233He's not too old to direct but he doesn't fucking want to. I'm pretty sure he didn't want to do the ward. He just wants to play music.
>>217311431no that was probably just me assuming a joke where there wasn't one
hasnt he been retired for like twenty years? even back then he was mailing it in
>>217311410But he was already speaking in Dead Space 2 and 3, so that's a non-issue.
>>217311347I feel like the boomers are the only ones with anything to offer. And, no, I am not 80 yo.
>>217311233>since its one of his favorite horror games.Based>>2173115412 had a different vibe to it already and 3 even more so>>217311604This. Despite Scorsese, Ridley Scott, PTA, etc. not reaching their highs again and falling off I'd still watch their work over most of the stuff that comes out these days.
>>217311638I prefer DS2 because it's much less tedious to play than DS1.
>>217311604Over 80 they are not even boomers, they are silent generation. My 85yo grandpa is still remarkably healthy both in body and mind but I couldn't imagine him still leading projects or societies or whatever, he's just too tired and too detached from the modern world.I don't hate Ridley Scott for still working since he'll probably drop dead the moment he stops, but he has made nothing but disappointments for quite a while
>>2173117042 fixed every flaw with 1
>>217311704>>217311754Idiots like you two is why game franchises die and publishers don't know why the fuck it happens. Many such cases. The Evil Within comes to mind as well.
>>217311754Indeed, too bad EA made them try to turn the franchise into a TPS with DS3.
>>217311793Evil Within was never good
>>217311233Age isn't an issue for directors (Scorsese, Miyazaki, Lumet, Kurosawa, etc) but this guy in particular hasn't made anything good in 30 years so yes - he's too old and washed up
>>217311793The numerous back and forth in DS1 were boring. I can't replay this game because of it, while DS2 is much more replayable, especially for challenge runs.
>>217311754it's true though, 2 made the melee and stomping not be slow and useless and it fixed the janky kinesis
>>217311233The last show he "directed" was him sitting at home on a webcam while his 60 year old trophy wife was on the set telling the crew what his wishes were.He has been finished for at least 10 years.
>>217311836I liked the stuff he did with Power Glove.
>>217311836Maybe he can use the last of his old man strength to kickstart a dead space movie.
>>217311233who cares? let this old nigga do this thing, even if it sucks what does it matter?
>>217311347why not, they have more experience than any of us
