What was the cringiest boomer fantasy you ever saw in a movie/show?
>>
>>217315760
Nice opinion OP, did a YouTuber give you it?
>>

everything he said is correct
isn't this the same show where he gets blackbagged by the cartel and talks his way out of it
that's more power fantasy and less objective fact

something about sheridan shows causes so much seethe. he's an old boomer that makes boomercore slop, causes troons to seethe, and is based for that alone. nothing said in that exchange was false.
>>
>>217315760
It's more of a doomer fantasy. The Left thinks "Renewables" are a panacea when they're barely a bandaid. The Right just bury their head in the sand and try to get rich off everyone's inability to act. And everyone shits on nuclear power when it was the only plausible stop gap to end the fossil fuels industry. (Keyword: was, at the rate it takes to put in nuclear infrastructure you'll never stop the planet from figuratively lighting on fire). Right now there is no happy ending for humans.

the best time to start building a nuclear power plant is 30 years ago, the second best one is today

No, he's saying that building the infrastructure takes 30 years, and so does the powerplant.

https://inis.iaea.org/records/bgsm3-a1y30/files/42105221.pdf
Also Minimum of 4.3 years, and max 12.5 years for the maximum. My number was an exaggeration.
I'm also thinking of fusion reactors.

Overwhelmingly the issue with Nuke is that by the time construction begins cheap tards think the budget was a suggestion and not a reality. Nuke plants run at loss for around five or so years due to build up but then go positive until they break down (which given our tech is measured in decades). Nuke requires the least waste of any energy production period, runs in all weather, and is technically still getting better as we learn to reprocess fuels, speed up reactor deployments and redesign from 60+ years of perfect records from the USN. Nukes suppression is 100% a Communist plot that got left unattended and then refunded in Europe after the Russian oil pipelines came online in the aughts. We will build nuke, no there isn't another option, no they aren't any more dangerous than any other plant, but yes they cost so much tax payers aren't willing to wait a half decade for them to truly shine

The real reason why they don't build those is really the same as in the whole private energy sector. When you build power plants the energy prices go down and you make less money. With wind turbines it's even worse because you either make less money or no money at all.

Did you actually witness this in your life? Did you actually witness a dead bird near a windmill? Or did you just accept some (((paper))) as the gospel and you now think that creatures that spend their entire lives flying are somehow so fucking bad at it that they crash into huge, loud, vibration-making spinning blades that can be seen from miles away even if you don't have bird eyes (which are better than ours)?

its correct that the processes needed to build a windmill do cause emissions

his numbers just aren't there though. Wind power construction causes less emissions than generating same amount of electricity with gas

> speed up reactor deployments
only way to do this is a subsidize a contractor to the point of them achieving a serial production line constantly deploying identical reactors

The first 20-30 plants at least require substantial taxpayer subsidy on power prices plus a government guarantee on the +10 billion/pop plants up front

Its not a technical issue but a market one. There just aren't market vehicles for +40 year life cycle industrial plants which reach break even after decades of operations
