That one ruined castle in "the Ring Goes South" sequence always ruins my immersion with its bad CGI

Assume I am a pleb and have a very bad eye for errors in film. What is the problem here?

Guess it's two seconds of screentime didn't warrant building a full miniature. But still it looks bad!

I think part of it is the composite. The edge on everything looks feathered and cuts into the silhouette too much on the borders
Other than that the textures look kind of like when you turn texture filtering down to its lowest setting in a game so something to do with texture filtering I guess, the stonework looks a bit blurry. And I think the lighting is not harsh enough for broad daylight.

Imagine the possibilities of 3D printed models with added details by hand. Combining the best of both world.

What until you get to Return of the King, where everything looks fake and or like a video game.
