It is funny. I hated Lilo and Stitch as a kid because my sister would play the movie and a music cd she had for the soundtrack all the time. Yet, I feel deep nostalgia for it now. Even moreso than the some films I myself liked at the time (although even then, I greatly preferred other studios to Disney (not including Pixar)). I just think Disney films are way too neat, tidy, and very basic in their storytelling. Call me postmodern if you want, but that is always how I felt.
