That's not to say that interracial couples don't fucking exist, but for the most part, yes, people stick to their own races. Why? Because they relate to those people more than they do people outside of their own race. Plus, racism is still largely prevalent, and people don't want to stir the pot by dating outside of their race. It's all made up gobbledygook. It's a fictional story being presented to a modern audience. That's not really an issue. More of an issue, I think, is when it's so fucking prevalent that you can't really ever escape it. And yes, it does feel like someone's grabbing you by the hand, like an imbecile, to make you understand that interracial relationships exist. That can be pretty fucking annoying. Even more annoying when they actually do take real dramas set in historical times and start race swapping those characters. That can be a sort of bizarre revisionist history that doesn't make a lot of sense, but is being forced upon people because of these newfound regulations that push things too far. It's possible to have nuance in conversation.
