Why was Stranger Things Season 1 so natural and screwed-down as opposed to literally every other season?I don't even mean merely in terms of tone... the shots are more simple... everything isn't overdone and the moments in the show are more meaningful as a result. >e1s1>will vanishes, you think the cop won't investigate but does, you get introduced to eleven and the guy taking care of her fucking dies, immediate tension>but none of this is ridden with memes and weird plot points>you get lots of 80s moments, but not a lot of CGI or nonsenseHow the fuck did we go from this to season 2-5 where it's all CGI out the ass, Freddy-Kreuger, no atmosphere? What and HOW the fuck did this happen?>Scene where Steve kisses Nancy while Africa by Toto plays>It's just a simple scene about them kissing during a thunderstormNo season after that even got close to this. How did this happen?
the final season and the finale are quite possibly the worst of all time. made the game of thrones final season and finale look like a masterpiece
>>217331374Season 1 of a show or the debut movie of a new director will be something they've thought about worked on and written and rewritten over and over, often for years. That level of refining generally can't happen on follow up projects, because obviously, so there's naturally a huge step down.
>>217331406I watched the whole show and I legitimately skipped through the finale because it was concluding something that I didn't even start watching.
>>217331412No dude literal simple things that made the first season good are fully skipped over in later seasons.>first episode ends in a thunderstorm>multiple characters are shown in different locations during this>episode 2 starts slightly after and the thunderstorm continues into the episode and acts as a plot device for it as wellIt's literally shocking to me that anyone involved with s1 is involved with the other seasons.
>>217331374The harsh lighting, tight perms + thick specs look more 70s. 80s sitcom family get softer lighting.
>>217331445No dude like sound design for the show in season 1 was amazing and then every season after no one gave a single fuck. It's genuinely baffling. Consider if you watched Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, and then instead of getting Two Towers & Return, you got the Hobbit movies for the 2nd and 3rd film. And not even that, imagine it's much worse. Like you get Fellowship, and then Two Towers is directed by the guy who did the Minions movies and has the same animation, and then Return of the King is done by M. Night Shamaylan about as well as he did Avatar the Last Airbender.
>>217331443Compare that to final season’s use of thunderstorms >eleven trying to jump into the military base in the upside down>”the thunder in the upside down is always 7 seconds after the lighting”>only happens once to ‘prove’ the point >this ‘fact’ is literally contradicted moments later in the same scene it’s established in>when she does the jump the gap isn’t even 7 seconds >never again is the gap 7 seconds nor was it at any point 7 seconds in the 4 seasons prior
>>217331374Suffering from success. Just like Game of Thrones. The makers are trying to give people what they want and they generally don't understand why they were successful in the first place.
>>217331418i only watched so i could confirm what i already knew and i ended up ffwd the final 20 min it was so ridiculous. how did and entire cast and crew read the scripts and go through with all the shots and are not embarrassed? its legitimately the biggest pos ever made. im baffled by the fascination
>>217331508Goddamn that hurts to even think about. The thunderstorm in s1 wasn't used for anything but aesthetics. Something missing from every other season after. Beyond that intrigue and interest, and setting plot elements up.Even the synth music after s1 is more gaudy, simplistic, and overall annoying.
>>217331527>Just like Game of Thrones.Goddamn no joke.>dude people like medieval stuff>what if we give them a bunch of CGI and NO medieval stuff?!?
What I'm failing to understand is why was the Kali episode rated so low, when it was one of the best episodes of the entire series? It was peak comfy kino. Group of outcasts, another girl like El, who's cool, lives in a comfy place and has interesting plot to offer. I guess people are retarded, but one of the lowest rated episodes? I don't want to hear any critique whatsoever, retards will be retards.
>>217331797No one wants to see a fucking Indian onscreen you doublenigger.Everyone wants you to die.
>>217331797>dude why doesn't anyone want to see the ugliest, most annoying, piece of shit race?!?!?!?!?!
>>217331869>>217331891Incoherent chud bigotry momentNo wonder.
>>217331797Honest answer, because it was obviously a backdoor pilot and just a jarring and out of place episode. Nobody gave a fuck about this new crew, they watch Stranger Things for the Strangers Things characters.
>>217331406woah slow down Maurice, its close but not there
>>217331797cause everyone hates jeets and nobody wants to see them included in western media you stupid nigger
>>217332050It's still ugly even if saying the truth makes you seethe, activist
>>217331374low budget
>>217331797this episode made me stop watching lmao, i never saw a single thing that came after it
>>217331797Breaking up the climax of the season for a stupid episode where Jane meets her jeeta sister and the guardians of the suicide squad was already stupid, made even worse by the fact all of the new characters were both unfunny and unlikeable with no redeeming qualities, there’s a reason everyone skips that episode and it’s the same reason the jeeta shouldn’t have been brought back.
>watch woke slop for retardswow dae this show is kinda dumb?????
>>217331797POO IN LOO
>>217331374Because it was genuine, not driven by marketing or hype. They had a story to tell, they told in that style and it was done. It was never planned to continue beyond that, but its popularity forced them to extend a season of material into all the crap we got. It's like if you tried to extend The Hobbit into an epic 9 hour long trilogy.
