I recently rewatched the original Stargate film. Great flick that aged quite well, but compared to the tv series spin offs it feels like a completely different universe. Don't get me wrong, the tv version was still good, but in the early seasons it felt like they had write around budget constraints and dial back on certain things that were established in the movie.
