Lots of people love to glaze the Raimi Spiderman trilogy based off nostalgia, but they suffered hugely from trying to be a soap opera where Spiderman would be doing things less and less each movie. The constant taking off the mask to show the actors face has always been a big no no for superheroes. Many like to say the problem with the third movie was including Venom, but I would argue he was the only good thing about it. Since that movie had no good villains at all to work with. A lot of the acting is very weirdly directed, with everyone looking too old for the roles they are playing.

His Mary Jane is the most ridiculous, insidious incel caricature of a love interest possible. Norman was right.That aside you're completely right about Spider-Man 3, the worst parts of that movie are the Sandman and Harry storylines and they're the parts that were entirely Raimi's ideas.
The first one is probably in the top 10 super hero movies of all time the other two were hit and miss but still enjoyable. frankly they should have given us 10 films set in the Spider-Man raimi verse none of the following iterations were as fun to watch and got increasingly watered down and corporatized with little to now individual style or feeling

Pete is a motherfucking genius that could achieve great things if it wasn´t for Spiderman. Being Spiderman is something he does at great personal cost. It´s something that grinds his personal life into dust and breaks him every single time. On the other hand that personal life prevents Spiderman from reaching his potential (as seen on Superior Spiderman). He can cope while he is capable of keeping both lives separated but things always end mixing up eventually.The over the top acting you misconstruct as soap opera is purposely done in that fashion for two reasons. One is to embrace the essence the source of the narrative, it´s not supposed to feel real, it´s supposed to feel like a comic book. The other is to highlight the intensity of the drama and keep a balance between Peter and Spiderman. If Peter´s life wasn´t a bag of shit that´s constantly on fire Spiderman would overpower the whole thing and you couldn´t sell the whole "It´s just a kid trying to do the right thing because with great power comes great responsibility", which is the point. >TL;DR Take a Spiderman 101 class or STFU

It's why so many people like Spider-man, he feels like a real-ish person with a life outside of his heroics, and has many of the struggles normal people have (relationship issues, getting bullied at school, a shitty job with a boss that's a bit of a dick, money issues, having to take care of his older family member, his girlfriend getting killed by his archnemesis, etc)
