Why do people rank Breaking Bad below Sopranos and The Wire?
>>217341260If someone likes the wire I just assume they are a retarded and dont take anything they say seriously. In fact - ill be repulsed by anything they recommend ever
>>217341260Because it sucks.
>>217341260I've noticed in critics list that Sopranos and The Wire are usually higher, but if you look at the user ratings and lists Breaking Bad is higher.
at the tippy top
normies got bad taste
Because it's baby's first prestige drama that has cliffhangers before every commercial break and was rewritten around twitter discussion.
I couldn’t even finish The Wire. Season 4 was the end for me. Stringer Bell was basically the best character so after he’s gone who is left to really give a shit about?
>>217341260Because most the show is basically a lie, Jessie is just a whiny bitch and Walter barely ever did anything "badass"
>>217341260breaking bad isnt even in the top 10its not prestige television
>>217341260>peopleNo. Breaking Bad is actually the people's champ. The Sopranos and The Wire are for the critics.
>>217341281thats okay kiddo, you got filtered. many do
>>217342605other way around
The airplane stuff in season 2 is complete trash
>>217341260BrBa is more of a thrill ride but it doesn’t have much thematic depth. There are stretches of the Sopranos where nothing of note happens but Tony is one of the most complex and interesting characters ever
>>217341260Only just starting The Wire, but The Sopranos is episodic and character-driven. Every episode is somewhat self-contained, a vignette about the characters at play with some connection to the overarching season, but also with a beginning, middle, and end of its own. Each episode has its own theme. Breaking Bad began the push toward hyper-serialization, where every episode ends in a cliffhanger and the entire season (if not the entire show) is one ongoing plot, and while you might remember specific unforgettable moments of the show, you don't think of the show in terms of its episodes anymore. Just "that part when that happened." It's a good show, but in my opinion not near the quality of The Sopranos. The Wire is okay, so far.
>>217342638No, dumbass. Look here >>217342656 Mr. Faggot just proved my point.
Breaking Bad can be kinda shallow and corny at times which probably knocks it down a few pegs for some people. The finale season was pretty weak as well outside of one episode. It's not nearly as 'real' or gritty as the Wire, the character study isn't as strong as the Sopranos. It's probably more entertaining than both of those shows, but its not as 'prestige' If Game of Thrones is king of entertainment and hype, and Sopranos is king of prestige characters Breaking Bad falls somewhere in the middle.
>>217341260Dude imagine if BB was set in the 90s with Bruce Willis as mr White and Leo Dicaprio as Jesse Pinkman! That would be crazy!!
>>217341260The Wire is reality-based and has some of the best scenes ever filmed, but can get preachy sometimes.BrBa is the best self-insertion fantasy for white males.
>>217342765I sure want to self insert as someone that has a bitch wife, a retarded son and cancer!
>Walter kinda forgot that he had terminal cancer
Breaking Bad is Dexter/Walking Dead tier
