Can someone just give me some recommendations of the ACTUAL scariest movies of all time? I haven't seen any actual horror movies (just corny campy shit) but whenever I google a list of the scariest horror movies, I get shit like jaws, the shining, or the exorcist. Sure those movies are good, sure maybe they were scary when you were 5, but they are not actually scary

>>217341644I'm biased because Mulholland Drive is my favorite film of all time but it definitely has a few scenes that scared the fuck out of me on first watch. Deeply unnerving filmThe Thing and Alien may be classics and part of the film critic horror canon now but those two are scary for sure. Lake Mungo has gotten some criticism in the past few years as it's grown in popularity but it freaked me out on first watch. The Descent and REC aren't amazing films either but they too are quite scary.
