I watched this. There are like 10 new OC woman characters taking up screen time with shitty pointless dialogue because there were like no chicks in the books, and you can tell the difference in quality between the main characters from the book and the OC stuff

Kind of. A tall tale is a "legend we have at home" type of thing. So maybe over generations a tall tale might become more popular and grow into a legend, or vice versa, but what I think they're trying to imply is that an insignificant "hedge knight" becomes a legend.
