It really is the gold standard of horrible public apologies, after this a whole industry and song and dance cropped up on how to apologize, how to disappear, how to comeback from stuff like this

It's such a shame we'll never get something like this again, it's sorta like those old cringe E3 conferences Ubisoft use to throw, everything is so scripted and corporate and monetized you'll never see them again

Except it was funny. It was really funny. The fact they had Seinfeld go on Letterman to apologize with Kramer apologizing via remote made it ever funnier than if they'd just released a press release apologizing.

That was the fundamental problem.
