Is this the most retarded movie opinion of all time?

The movie is set in a mall and the zombies are going there because it was the only place they used to hang out when they were alive

It's about colonialism a scathing critique of a world that teaches children to be ashamed of themselves until their shame can be monetized, militarized, and launched into orbit.

>Francine Parker: They're still here.
>Stephen: They're after us. They know we're still in here.
>Peter: They're after the place. They don't know why; they just remember. Remember that they want to be in here.
or how about
>Francine Parker: What are they doing? Why do they come here?
>Stephen: Some kind of instinct. Memory of what they used to do. This was an important place in their lives.
Nothing about this strikes you as commentary on consumerism?
>>
So what ideally WOULD be the best building to find refuge in during a zombie apocalypse?
>>
>>217347548
Shopping centers or 'malls' were also where people used to go to just hang out and have a good time. If people go to the beach and there is a gelato stand there are all beach goes consumerists now?

Depends on the zombie i guess. If they are romero zombies;
Slow, minimal tool use, drawn to memory, easily distracted, head kill only, afraid of fire
Outside of relying on the elements (extreme heat, cold, the ocean) it probably would be a military bunker on an island. Or in the mountains i guess. It's also more of a question about how long you are expected (or WANT) to last and how the environment/structure helps you with other problems apart from the zombies. Like a frozen wasteland is good for keeping the dead out, but what about food/water/heat/isolation?

An oil-rig would give you infinite salmon desu.
But oilrigs have no women so I'd stick with the lighthouse with the lighthouse keeper's daughter.
>>
>>217347876
oil rigs also need a tonne of maintenance. I'm not so sure about the fishing part, how low do the walkways go? the winds would be pretty rough too so your line is going to go all over the place.

A cabin on the side of a mountain with a spring fed well with a decent sized garden.
Less populated areas should have less zombies, and even when they do spread out, its going to be thin numbers making it up the mountain. Set some man traps and fences to divert them down other paths. Set boulder and log traps where I can.

Well, romero was fond of appeasing to lefty themes back when he was still alive and kicking so I don't see why it's retarded. Hell, he even had a Indian Chris redfield in his resident evil movie script. Pretty progressive dude. It's like complaining about IT being woke. Look up the author first before you speak.

I thought it was about people in a Mall fighting zombies?
>>
>>217348325
Except it's not. A shopping mall is first and foremost a commercial retail outlet, and comparing one gelato stand on a beach to a complex dedicated entirely to stores makes you one of the most braindead gorillas I've ever seen.
It's about consumerism and you're wrong.
>>
>>217348365
>the only reason people went to malls was to CONSUME, people never just hung out! Therefore the only reason a zombie would have a memory of a mall is because they want to buy things!

You are unironically more brain dead than the zombies lmao, you just go with someone else's interpretation without thinking about it yourself.
>>
>>217348365
While that point is correct (for that time period), it doesn't have any bearing on the movie.
>>
>>217347426
A year or two ago they did a screening of dawn of the dead (technically zombi 2 I guess), but goblin showed up and played the score live.
Shit was pretty cash.
The opening scene in the news room was fucking intense with them just wailing and it was like watching it for the first time.
>>
>>217347580
I thought about this a lot, and an apartment complex would be really good. Gated area already built, and you could even smash the stairs below the 2nd floor. That would basically eliminate the threat of any zombies getting to you entirely. Only threat whatsoever in that case becomes getting in and out.
>>
>>217348422
Lol fucking contrarian moron
>>
>>217348383
>I've ever seen.

>its about consumerism and NOTHING ELSE THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED! THERE ARE NO OTHER INTERPRETATIONS POSSIBLE AND NONE THAT COULD CO-EXIST!

Realistically, any tall fence with a padlocked gate is enough to keep zombies out. Most school buildings would suffice. The only reason it doesn't last in the films is because the survivors always have to contend with stupidity and panic in their own ranks.

Yeah, I think that happened at the end of the prison arc in TWD. But I was thinking of something like picrel. It's not very high, but zombies can't climb.
>>
>>217347580
>Go upstairs and bring any supplies you can
>Destroy all means if accessing upstairs except a ladder that you can retract
>You are now untouchable by zombies
You could get on a boat, but if you get too far away from shore and something happens to your engines then you're 100% fucked. You're also susceptible to human raids, but that's true regardless.
>>
>>217348961
This was retconned in after the fact and isn't lore accurate to the script as it was written- Romero is infamous for this type of thing decades later
>>
>>217347426
I thought it was about stopping a movie dead in its tracks and completely ruining the vibe of the film?
