People don't realize how crucial music is in movies. I rewatched Harry Potter recently, and without the score — especially that sad theme used eg in Snape's death scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJ83ILGA8yI — the whole thing would feel childish and cringey. The music takes a negative-IQ screenplay and dialogue ( it really is a children's book) and turns it into something deep and lyrical.
I would even say there are are no really good movies without a good soundtrack.

Anon everyone realizes this. People even make playlists with their favourite scores and there is an Oscar for it.

It would have been cool if Harry actually died in the end

Why Rowling killed Snape?

people realize it is important, they don't realize how. doesn't matter how edgy you are trying to sound.

it was the most logical and also most epic end of the cycle.

as a Doctor Who fan (i know) i have really started to feel the opposite way. Classic Who had 'incidental music', little music stings when a monster appeared or something.

now it CONSTANTLY has blaring, bombastic music telling you how to feel and it drowns out the actors.

11th Dr Who is dying, it's melancholic and the characters are sad. pathos through acting.

11th Dr Who is dying. some Elder Scrolls music battles with the dialogue to let you know you're feeling sad

by then, they'd already made the first couple of movies so it was firmly established that Alan Rickman would be Professor Snape throughout.
she needed him to die because Snape was already way too old, and the problem would just keep getting worse.

E.T is a good example of this. 90% of the emotion is score, see

Yeah no shit, dumb dumb
But to be fair, The one thing I have never noticed; when a deaf person said scary games aren't scary.
The music is doing 10000% of the job.
That took me off guard. You'd think the visuals play a part in it

>ww2 documentary shows a German speech and German invasion force
>cuts to US ships floating peacefully in the pacific towards tropical islands
most drastic change in music score in any film medium.
