What do you look for in a film review? A sophisticated breakdown of themes, a more mechanical look at the film as a whole (directing, writing, etc) or a simple star/directional thumb as an "unspoilered" recommendation?

She finally watched the new Avatar movie and was just talking about what she liked.

she's visibly autistic and so autists all over the world will imagine she'd actually be approachable.

Those kinds of critiques are less important than knowing that the critic's tastes align with my own. If I'm consulting a critic I want to know if a film is worth my time watching, breakdown in tone, imagery and other things are for discussions after the film. So I want a combination of mechanical and endorsement after I've vetted their taste.

I've NEVER seen any reviewr actually use a formula.
example:
Elements of Film: Acting, Directing, Cinematography, Production, Writing, etc.
Each element having a stated percentage value of weight(subjective) and peculiar to the genre.

nope its all retards. DUURRRR ME LIKEY THIS ME NOT LIKE THAT.

>>

I generally don't.

how the fuck does this woman make 9 million dollars a month on patreon when she makes one 1 hour video every 400 days

Being born a woman has its advantages

A few months back I went down a Jenny rabbithole and she has Patreon-exclusive content she shits out every month.
Mostly her rambling about things that would not warrant a release on YT.
But I get people would pay for their waifu even if editing is minimal and subjects are not that interesting.
Those vids have been ripped on a popular Patreon ripping site I don't remember.

Damn, is it really $9m a month? Jenny is worth 9 figures?

This. I don't care about whatever pseud bullshit some pretentious twat learned at university, I'm not going to critics to read a fucking dissertation, if the film is complex enough to merit it then I'll spend time thinking about its themes myself because I'm not a rom-temp IQ moron. What I want from a critic is a very basic yae or nae - the world of entertainment media is a sea of slop and shite, so based on the fact they have tastes that align broadly with mine, did X critic think the movie was a worthwhile way to waste some of our finite lifetimes or not? That's the only value critics offer.

It's like $4-500k tops! He was just exaggerating.
>>
>>217359541
Yeah that makes more sense. Still like multiple times my annual salary in a month.
>>
>>217359175
she's unironically a once in a generation level talent at critique
>>
>>217359594
But it's it what she deserves? We might be still be getting a deal here.
