been improved had they given Marty a dumb but well meaning best friend? Someone that's always annoying Doc. Always flirting with Marty's mum in 1985 and then when he meets her in the 50s he falls in love with her and nearly ruins the plan.

Finally the comedy sidekick becomes the hero by making the right decision. More wholesome than the rape and incest plots.
