I was thinking, if Amrita is paying for the whole operation, of which the interstellar part is presumably the costliest aspect, then the first decade or so of unobtanium mining we see coming to an end in the first movie must REALLY have obliterated the financial costs of making travelling to Pandora happen, since, as stated in 3, 100 billion dollars, in an universe with mega hyper inflation, is about an year's worth of expenses. If material costs for Bridgehead are covered mostly by materials on site, so you're only left with extraction and (automated) assembly costs, and space travel is basically peanuts thanks to room temp superconductor which the humans already have a lot of, it makes perfect sense that they would pivot to amrita not only for upkeep costs, but investor profit. I used to think the numbers didn't add up but now I see it's quite realistic. Have my wife for consolation for long autismo post.

Does anyone have the link on the thread with terraformer plot? I want to check on the details. I don't really believe there was different movie version, but watching movie today again I caught myself wondering was volcano thing there not just for Varang backstory. And Quoutrich line about Varang wanting to burn Pandora and fight Eywa back wasn't for nothing. Imo movie itself doesn't fully embrace Fire and Ash title. This made me wonder if initial plot involved terraforming incident that made another huge volcano explode or almost explode, and main quest was to stop RDA from doing that. Terraforming destroying huge part of Pandora would repeat Varang's backstory beats, fit her goals and better fit FaA title.

I think in 4 the RDA will have an "Empire Strikes Back" moment and the Na'vi will be on the back foot, with maybe even Jake dying and Loak becoming leader. But by the end of the film, the humans will start becoming like Spider and instead of it just making it easier for them to colonize the place, it allows them to connect with Eywa and they and the Na'vi come to an undersstanding and can live together. Then the 5th film will have Neytiri or Kiri taking seeds of the grea tree to Earth and and making it so humans on Earth can connect to Eywa and begin healing the planet.
