The original movie this is based on had the gimmick of one guy playing every one of the murdered victims. I guess it makes sense that they would switch out a royal British family for a billionaire family in a modern setting. If the kills are kind of fun like in a Hitman game then this could be a decent movie.

Seems to have done well enough to get a second season I guess. Then he had The Running Man bomb, which lost a ton of money. You'd think pairing up with Edger Wright would have been a good idea, since I really think Wright is a good director, but Wright's last two movie have been really bad. Maybe he's lost it. This movie here looks to be pushed out by A24 in the dead months of winter, so it probably won't do well with no marketing, and then he has that JJ Abrams new movie coming out after it which I have no idea what to make up. An original sci-fi/fantasy movie is a tough sell so it might be another bomb.

>>217360723I get that some movies are made that way, where the director and crew are just handed pages, show up on time and say their lines just to get a paycheck, but it makes a movie look boring and generic. It has nothing to give creatively because even the grading is just dragging some preset filter over the footage, and the performances are just bland, but then again Glen Powell is bland as fuck and this is another one of his incoming flops.

It's been on the shelf for quite a while and I guess that around that time they still thought Powell was going to carry all this stuff and become a superstar. I think they still have him signed for the remake of Back Draft, and he's working on some project called the f_ck-boat. This guy was never in it to gain an interesting repertoire of roles, he just gets hired because he shows up and acts nice to everyone, with the plus of having a pretentious family.

He has decent charisma and is pretty good in comedy, but he is attached to zero notable IP. In Hollywood now it is just IP that sells and he seems to want to try and not jump on some popular IP franchise but that is the only way to make consistent hits now.
