Anybody remember this shit? I recently started rewatching it and it's KINO.
>>217360917Hell yea. My mom and I always watched it. Still do.
I can't rewatch it because it gets too sad. Richie was my guy and later on they fucking kill him.
>>217360917One of my favorite shows. It encapsulates the peak of cool, 90s masculinity. It takes all the coolest shit from vampire stories and makes it feel less gay. Nothing beats the vibe of these immortals wearing trenchcoats in dark moody 90s cities duking it out with practical effects explosions on every sword strike. Peak action TV.
>>217360917>Anybody remember this shit?Yeah, it explored the concept of immortals a little better than the movies did due to just having more time to play with it. Even though the stuff after it was crap and the show had to ignore the ending of the original film in order to work. But that's okay. It's better to just consider them different things anyway.>>217361163>Richie was my guy and later on they fucking kill him. It's a shame Stan Kirsch killed himself a few years ago.
>>217360917Would Highlander remake even work?
>>217361464didnt they just film one
>>217361399>Nothing beats the vibe of these immortals wearing trenchcoats in dark moody 90s citiesExcept for the part where the first couple seasons take place in San Francisco, the exact opposite of a dark and moody city. >>217361464>Would Highlander remake even work?Cavill is trying to. Whether he succeeds or fails though is an entirely different subject.
>>217360917I do, it was awesome.OST by fucking QUEEN btw.Although I probably missed some important episode and was always wondering how Richie got his immortality
>>217361501I thought they take place on a boat in France in the beginning? or is that later. I just remembered the french mime episode lmao. The city doesn't matter, it's just all the practical effects, lighting and trenchcoats shot at night.
>>217361501>Whether he succeeds or failsHe's literally only ever failed as a lead.
>>217361530Doesn't he get gunned down in the same event Tessa dies? Does how I remember it. The Macleods always knew he was immortal, even before he did, just like in the original movie.
>>217360917HEEEEEEEEEEERE WE ARE BORN TO BE KINGSWE'RE THE PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE
>>217361898>I AM IMMORTAL, I HAVE INSIDE ME BLOOD OF KINGS>I HAVE NO RIVAL, NO MAN CAN BE MY EQUAL I get it's cheesy but these lines are genuinely awesome.
>>217361579>I thought they take place on a boat in France in the beginning? No, that's the later seasons after his girlfriend gets killed.
>>217361501How could his tiny hands wield a sword?
>>217362994I dunno. He somehow allegedly did it with The Witcher netflix show. Maybe he'll have hand-doubles for fight scenes?
>>217361439Don't use these for sparring. I have one and the blade is not full-tang. It goes down about mid way through the hilt and the rest is just hollow plastic. The blades are a pretty strong grade of stainless steele though. Before the grip on mine broke the blade took a heavy beating in sparring sessions and still looks okay to this day.
>>217362994I dont get the tiny hands meme
This was kino too
>>217363209It's not a meme, it's just a fact.
It really is kino and a proper spiritual continuation of the first movie
>>217360917I really liked this show as a kid. And that motherfucking Queen soundtrack never gets oldhttps://youtu.be/UyPWpP6w8AA?si=zSL7rIzIBRUdRbDM>>217361163Yeah it just wasn't the same after that point.
>>217363238that show was garbage
>>217360917For me, it's Highlander: The Search for Vengeance
>>217363323Why not carry a gun, plug the immortals full of holes and THEN behead them when they can't move? Seems silly to go on a sword duel.
>>217360917Indeed. Even though the final seasons weren't as good, the finale still got to me (particularly the part with Richie >>217361163). It also had my favorite rendition of "Bonny Portmore" as well.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWnweO8RnNE
For me it was the weird French cartoon.
>>217363918>Why not carry a gun, plug the immortals full of holes and THEN behead them when they can't move?Ironically this almost kind of happened in Highlander: Endgame. One of the bad-guy immortals was new and still insisted on using guns because he was a former gang member or someshit and the others greatly disapproved of his conduct. I think it basically boils down to tradition and rules. Like how they will not fight on holy ground. There's nothing enforcing them from fighting on holy ground, they just all abide by it themselves.
