I would say there are two names which stand miles above others in the history of animation:
> Max Fleischer - who did the early Popeye cartoons
> Chuck Jones - the main star at Warner cartoons

Looney Tunes were superior to everything which has come after because the raw talent sitting under Warner's roof was unmatched.
