>movies that traumatized you: the thread
this late-90s piece of shit was actually horrifying as a 10-year-old
>>217362034My brother worked at a theater when this came out. The credits are children singing. Someone upstairs turned the power off to the projector so it SLOOOWED DOWN AND DEEPENED THE VOICE as it shut down and it scared the shit out of hi.
has to be pic related for me
>>217362034>the opening with the kid ending up in the tub with slow pan out of the doorway>the hallway with the light separating them>them hiding in the storage room with all the shelving and it coming in the distanceSo many shots in this movie are straight up terrifying and fantastic
Me and a friend in highschool where both into edgy movies and we heard about this one around when it came out. He watched it and said it wasn't that bad as people where saying. I watched and yeah...i guess I'm not as edgy as i thought i was. It should also be noted that aside from the fucked up scenes there's really nothing to be taken from this movie, the plot directing and acting are all very forgettable so it not only produces some of the most depraved scenes in a mainstream movie but it also just seems as an excuse for the director to insert his incredibly messed up ideas on to film. So yeah, not only is it completely fucked it's also a very bad movie overall and leaves you with a sick feeling. 0/10 would not recommend
>>217362034>darkness fallsgood pickfor me it was exorcism of emily rose scared the shit out of me when I was 13 slept with the light on for the rest of that summer lol. It might be really shitty now though watching it as an adult
>>217363957I watched that in the cinema. Many traumatic scenes in movies when I was a kid.
Watching movies like Arachnophobia, Mars Attacks, Dracula Dead & Loving It as a small six year old boy fucked me up for several years. Dracula Dead & Loving It did the most damage. I had nightmares for 3-5 years.
>>217363986yeah not going to lie when i searched for the picture I saw some shots from the movie and 18 years later those shots still makes me uneasy lol
>>217363957Not a bad film desu
>>217362209The first 2/3s is almost shockingly good.
>>217362034the house jack built. I know most people treat it like a silly dark comedy but to me it's basically a real snuff film.
>>217364007>Dracula: Dead & Loving ItMessed me up too ...I got so many weird sexual fetishes from watching that
>>217364007For me it was Ju-on the grudge. Watched the intro at like 10 years old and got actual trouble sleeping from it. My life probably got measurably worse because I was shown that film.
Zombie, City of the Living Dead, House of 1000 Corpses, The Ring.
A Nightmare on Elm StreetShouldn't have watch it that young :(
I should mention that I have two much younger brothers who are blond with large eyes and they tended to silently follow me around all day.
>>217364122If I'm being honest, I think 90% of it was the creepy woodblock print pictures in the intro that was what actually fucked me up so bad.I couldn't sleep with a window open or without a blanket held tightly around my throat for several years.
>>217364007Which scenes bothered you in particular?
>>217364203Anticipated the question>>217364203
>>217362034None, because my parents wouldn't let me watch anything scary as a kid. As a result, I am the biggest coward on the planet and cannot handle anything scary.
I watched the first 28DL on DVD with my older brother when I was young and the scene with the infected in the church scared the shit out of me. For a while after I always felt like someone was gonna jump through the window or chase me kek.
>>217362618Early 00s horror films hit different.
>>217364203As stated above, the spooky opening woodblock prints. Also... the straw sucking noise when he bit... Mina? Lucy? Fucked me up for some reason as well.
>>217362034As an alcohol this really shook me up
>>217364170>Jewish creators>Le White people scary>Le blonde haired people evilEvery. Single. Time.
>>217364181>>>I couldn't sleep with a window open or without a blanket held tightly around my throat for several yearsLMAO, seriously? Why?
>>217364621I thought Leslie Nielsen was going to get me.
>>217364645>I thought Leslie Nielsen was going to get meFuck, why did this get me?
>>217364645You know he can get in: he's a locksmith, and he's a locksmith
>>217362618I remember that it completely fell apart after the opening but I haven't seen it in 23 years, holy fuck
