The best you can hope for from Star Wars today is something that follows the pattern of Return of the Jedi: a Star Wars film that has some good parts, but these must be taken together with a larger amount of dreadful shit aimed at tiny children and other groups to which you don't belong. You're never going to get a mostly agreeable film like TESB again.

Mara wouldn't be on the Death Star, she wasn't a pilot so wouldn't join in attacking Yavin, Vader personally went after Luke on Hoth and wouldn't want her around, then he specifically captured his friends and lured Luke to the fight.
