I always sympathized with Fredo. He was actually smart and built up the casino from nothing 99% through legal civilian means, but his brother kept using it to launder money and ply his mafia schemes turning otherwise clean money into risky blood money and wouldn't let him go straight. Michael then acts shocked when he looks to others for help to get away from that life, and he didn't even want to kill Michael, just oust him from power so he could escape from Michael's jew-like clutches, and for this Michael goes absolutely psychotic.

The entire point of the casinos was to gradually, eventually legitimize all their business, but it took years and endless ass kissing and bribes to pull offFredo also confesses to him the only point to his betrayal was "something in it for him" because he got naturally passed overhe sat down and started crying when Vito got shot ffs
its been a long time since ive seen these movies but i remember fredo has having been groomed by the jew moe greene to never have any balls and just obey others inbetween banging whores and getting drunk, hes mafia manchild basically, the mafia son who wasn't cut out for it became a common trope, but he was also deliberately created
>>217372432>been groomed by the jew moe greene to never have any balls and just obey others inbetween banging whores and getting drunk>he sat down and started crying when Vito got shot ffsthat was way before Moe, Vito knew Fredo was weak, basically just writes him off kindly as "Fredo is.... Fredo"think in the novel it describes him as a sickly child
and all of Michael's moves there were all advised by Vito before he died as well, so Vito stuck him under Moe, just like Vito and not Michael cut out Tom Hagen, so he would be a completely clean and untouchable lawyer for when they went legit
I think Michael should have spared him, Vito may have, idk, but at that point Michael was seeing daggers coming from everywhere and trying to cut out as many potential future ones as possible
jews and sicilians have more in common than they care to admit
>>217372785I can believe that the Medici originally were Tuscan peasant stock, but I think that changed a lot earlier in their history than they care to admit.
>>217372785it's one of the most muttified places in the world given how close it is to africa and central europe bothI knew an unironic sicilian negro once, black as the night itselfexcellent cook though
>>217372728>I think Michael should have spared himThere was no need to kill Fredo, he could have been isolated within the family and wouldn't be any kinda threat anymore.
