They are convenient to them both externally, giving to the outside world the sense that there is an ongoing struggle and that the regime will eventually crumble, but also internally, films acting as the release valve of the non religious suppressed Tehran youth who see a leased version of their woes being depicted on film, while also failing to influence much of the ultra religious masses
