What was your favourite movie cover or poster?
Definitely Akira. That bike makes me feel like nothing else.
Ghana movie posters are top kino. Thinking of ordering one and framing it.
I'm gonna post 2.The first one is this, Coming Home in the Dark, which immediately made me pick up the film as soon as I first saw it on /tv/ (it was described as a "neat NZ thriller" or something mundane). This color scheme and the ominous image of an unkempt man with a gun against a lonely landscape just hooked me immediately. I honestly can't even say if it's a good poster or if it's just some weird thing where it appeals to me specifically somehow.I found some of the film a little unconvincing but overall I don't mind watching imperfect films. It's an uncomfortable watch with mixed performances, but still an interesting, violent character study.
>>217377063Looks AI generated
>>217377089Could AI make THIS?
>>217377083The second is Come True. Another case where the poster immediately hooked me to watch the film.I don't have much to say about it though, other than that it's like one half some of the best indie horror made, and one half the stupidest script you'll ever see on screen, not in a good way.
>>217377063jesus christ raimi
>>217377457da fuck is this kek
>>217377530and they say that a HEEERO CAN SAVE USIM NOT GONNA STAND HERE AND WAIIIIIT
MoonThe "250,000 miles from home" part is dumb but it looks cool and it expresses well the isolation that the protagonist feels
>>217376995GOAT
>>217377063>>217377115For what reason do they do that? Surely it can't be cheaper than getting the regular posters,
>>217378012Kino movie. I re-watch it sometimes to bring me back to Earth. The 90-minute runtime helps (more movies should be that long desu)
>>217378605>The 90-minute runtime helps (more movies should be that long desu)agreed, there was a time when I thought that any movie over 2 hours was long but now it's the standard, only that a lot of films just squander those 30-40 extra minutes on bullshit that could just be cut out
>>217377957one of the worst movies ever made
>>217378012Searching for long range comms
Not only a great poster, but it communicates the theme of the entire movie better and more succinctly. Seeing this in an art gallery would've been more impactful than watching the entire film.
>>217377457Great poster unhironically
>>217378012A fine example of "movies /tv/ sold me as masterpiece and were midwit at best"
>>217377023A little too literal.
>>217377323That is the Jurassic world trex cgi face not the one from 1993.
>>217377083It has a nice atmosphere.
>>217378024Context?
>>217379416it's a good, simple and straightforward movie, nothing wrong with that. Thankfully I watched it for the first time before I had ever even heard of /tv/ so my experience wasn't ruined by layers of irony, high expectations and contrarianism
>>217379222I'll give it a shot, never watched the movie:Movie is about women havin long hair, and the longest the hair of the women, the more unseen she is? Like men on this movie like bald girls, so she is seen as an outcast and invisible to men because of her long hair. And she feels trapped and choked by the amount of hair she has, and her struggle is on her refusal to conform and cut her hair.
>>217379393lol fuck off
>>217379416it is a masterpiece but your problem is that is not high value. You associate "masterpiece" with "high espectacle high budget". This is a small movie, small cast, small budget. For what it has, it's great on everything it does except score (which I don't even remember)It's a masterpiece within it's weight class (except on score)
>>217379416Are you talking about The Shawshank Redemption?
>>217377023this was my favourite scene
>>217377957loved it until the retarded supernatural stuff. same problems as weapons.
>>217378711did you object to the villain being a tranny
>>217379674This, no idea why it's worshipped here.
>>217381083the problem with all of these movies is that they assume society would have been worse off had hitler succeeded - or that life was somehow some American beauty style misery under his rule. people have to think that to be able to accept our present and future in the west.
>>217381107Do we post on the same /tv/? It is rightly derided here for being unrealistic, sappy, and overlong. Leans hard on le magical negro. There are exactly two (2) good moments: beers on the roof and the suicide of the old guy (can't remember his name)
>>217381107it is overhyped but it's a very well put together, satisfying and unpretentious film
>>217381273sentimental yes but in what way is red a magical negro?
