The reality is that in pulp you need to strictly follow the hero's journey. A hero implies good morals. Hollywood is completely immoral nowadays, it believes in relativism and satanic practices, thus they can't do the hero's journey anymore.

Even if they try to make an adventure, it's just a dumb CGI mess like the Avatar franchise or MCU.Adventures like The Mummy or Indiana Jones were built on the back of real stunts done on real sets and locations. It has to look and feel completely tactile, otherwise it's lifeless slop. There's no sense of wonder to a giant green screen room, and no actor is skilled enough to convince you that there is. You need a giant ancient tomb set for your characters to walk into and be in awe of. You need a real train and horses for your chase scene. Anything less and the core sense of adventure is undermined.
