Mix of wokeness, taking a decade to finish when they should have sprinted to get it all done while the main cast were still kids and teens, and the creators/writers checking out and not giving enough of a fuck about where the story was going as they wrote the final season. Hell, season 3 works as a much better ending to the series overall then season 5 does.
