What is his fucking problem?
>"black woman and white man? weak sauce, I prefer the other way around"
He realizes his career has ended. Now he's looking back at his films and realizing he's a joke. Meanwhile everyone else is humming along making films, and will continue to make films. He's going to become just another old director who is angry he isn't making kino
>>217384194Needs attention I guess He’s acting like a tranny though I guess he always did
>>217384194Why did he become an Israel cuck?
>>217384194What would his Star Trek even have been? He does not seem like a sci-fi/fantasy guy
>spiceLOL, he does have a point
>>217384194For me it's how they say Melange
>>217384263It’s where blackmailed pedophiles go
>>217384194he's honestly a total pseud. he's made some cool movies but he's all style no substance, he has no idea what a good narrative is
>>217384194This retard never heard of the east india trading company or the opium wars."Spice" was probably said more dramatically at that time than in Dune.
>>217384272the phrase "the spice must flow" always annoyed me especially. spices are typically a coarse powder. no one would ever think of saying it, it's like saying "the crack must flow".
>>217384194Does Tarantino even like sci fi? I know he liked the Matrix but thats got kung fu in it.
>>217384384He was supposedly going to make a Star Trek movie to be his final film
>>217384194Am I supposed to think he is wrong? Why should people be forced to watch endless readaptions of the same story?
A man who appreciates craftsmanship.
>>217384194He is right. It's essentially the same story, edited differently with new special fx. If he was 20 years younger, he'd probably watch it too, but he doesn't have the time for this anymore.
Both the Lynch movie and Villeneuve adaptations suck compared to the source material.Tarantino hasn't made a good movie apart from Pulp Fiction thoughbeit and even that "borrowed" heavily from countless other movies.
>What is his fucking problem?
>>217384528I've only read the first book and it's basically just YA sci-fi slop, the Lynch film is great and basically a 1 to 1 adaptation.
>>217384194wypipo can't handle a bit of spice
>>217384640The second half or at least the last third is rushed as fuck. I did like some aspects of it and from the Villeneuve stuff as well but the book is far superior imo.The best scripts are specifically written for movies and not adapted from another media ímo
>>217384194If missiles start raining again I dearly hope one hits him.
>>217384640>Ya sci fi slop Name your three favorite books
He was right about Paul Dano and he's right about the shitty DUNC movies too.
>>217384528>he borrowed!!!Wow. Oh no. How dare he do what 99% of artists do. Geez, what a fraud! If it's that easy then how does he do it so well? Why are imitators always such shit?
>>217384194dune is about space magic aristocracy and shit, tarantino basically just likes blacks
>>217384816The Idiot, For My Legionaires and Storm of Steel.
>>217384194he 's right tho. too many remakes and that one was not needed. they could have use all the talents it took to make it to make a new story, or invest in a story that have not been told. a bit of excitement! imagine that! not knowing what you are getting into at the movis. heh.
>>217384194I think Tarantino should make a Dune movie.
>>217384265Some space disco bullshit, like Shaft Goes to the Stars or something.
>>217384970If it's remakes he has a problem with he could call out one of the other thousand, not the remake of a film made 50 years ago that's universally disliked.
>>217384640>and it's basically just YA sci-fi slopI wouldn't go that far, but you're not far off the mark. The writing is too dense and clunky for it to be pure YA. It's closer to dweeby high school nerd sci-fi than YA. Like, you could picture a normal highschooler reading Twilight or Hank Green slop by choice. If it weren't for the films, I couldn't picture them reading Dune unless they were forced to do so.
He's right, Dune is shit, Frank Herbert is a retard and a culturally illiterate hack, mixing Arab and Persian references in what is essentially a pseudo-religious novel on space mujahideen. The movies are obnoxious and can't even spell the name right >Frank Herbert wanted a harsh-sounding name for the antagonistic family opposing House Atreides in Dune. He came across the name "Härkönen" in a California telephone book and thought that it sounded "Soviet", though it is in fact Finnish
>>217384263hes always beenin his book he talks about his mom his her back blown out by tyrones. Also dedicated the last chapter to one
>>217384308>calling someone a pseud while talking like a complete pseud
tastless sterilised distilled water of the french faggot vs a flawed visionary take on sci fi from lynch. i wonder why
>>217384528>the source material>"Paul thought about summoning the guard, then decided to. 'Guard!' he shouted, summoning the guard, having decided to do so. The guard, summoned, began to move across the room to the source of his summoning, as he was summoned. 'Reporting as ordered!' said the guard to Paul, who had just summoned him."
this weird ten movie-fixation of his is making him spiral
>>217385063Finland was briefly a Soviet republic and there are to this day ethnic Finns in Karelia. 'Soviet' is not an ethnic distinction.
>>217384194>there's an alarming lack of tasty feet shots on those movies, so I'm not watching
>>217385102So you've never read it.
>>217385140>Finland was briefly a Soviet republicYes, 20% of Finland was a socialist republic for 3 whole months in 1918 so of course people think about the USSR (created in 1921) when they hear Finnish names.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finnish_Socialist_Workers%27_RepublicThat's also called being a fucking retard
Dune does basically suck in all its incarnations tbqhwy
>>217384194it's a black male thing
>>217385245>"The Baron could feel the muscular movement of the plot as it began to unfold.">"Mood’s a thing for cattle or for making love."
>>217385291You Will Never Be A Scandinavian.
>>217385245Herbert's poor writing is notorious, Dunc is praised for its world building. Some dialogues feel like they were written by an autist who's never interacted with a human being.
>>217384384He likes Alien and The Thing and Star Trek
>>217385102This can't be a real quote
>>217385245>lmaoing at the deranged fag who thinks Dune is a 'good book'
>>217385489It isn't, but it's pretty much Herbert's writing in a nutshell. I'd tell you to google it, but google has gone to fucking shit.
>>217385393I noticed the exact same thing recently when reading Ringworld: 10/10 world-building but 1/10 dialogue.
He's right but for the wrong reasons
>>217384194Denis had dissapeared so far up his own ass and he loved him. He loved him.
