Too short to emotionally connect with the cast but I get what they were trying to do. Couldn't stop thinking this would have worked wonderfully as a short miniseries of 8 episodes or so, 1 for each family

Didn't Nathan Fielder already do this exact concept

I meant the whole "hiring actors to pretend to be family members"

It's by a TV director who can't really cut it in <2hr I guess.

Could have been a feelsfest about sadness and people but under 2hrs it just fell flat. Each person needed 1 hour to shine and each episode could have been a different character and Brendan growing as a person, learning something from each othe of them, adding something to his empty apartment from each client.

I agree. I didn't feel anything for the rest of the Rental Family employees
I think we should have spent more time with the kid and the old man too
The movie needed like 20 or 30 minutes more to add a bit of depth

Loved this movie but I hated the Pozzed scene at the beginning.

She's barely done any tv and she did a full length movie years before she did those handful of tv episodes. Her first movie was very good.

The Rehearsal Season 1 followed a similar arc about a man acting out the role of a kid's fake dad and growing a real connection to the kid, interspersed with other stories about hiring actors for real life situations.
