I don’t see it discussed often but this show was only able to fit so much plot action into the story because Vince completely dropped the “sitcom” nature of the show halfway through and tried turning it into some deliriously overdramatized soap opera involving the same 7 characters on rotation.At least in the sopranos they would have episodes like “here’s fat crime asshole man but here’s his friend, fatter crime asshole man, and here’s his wife and all their kids and here’s-“ in breaking bad they have 5 or so actors that support the slop structure.
