Yeah, these new captchas are ridiculous. It doesn't feel like it's trying to prevent spam; rather Hiro is using us to train some kind of AI. I'm not doing it for free and I'm not buying a 4chan pass. This will be my last post on 4chan. It's a dying website anyway and most boards feel like they only have 5-10 different posters at any given time, and niche boards feel like they have even less.

I do not find the capture difficult. How exactly does this new stop bots better than the old one? I do not see how this would be difficult for it.

am i being gaslit about the new capcha? literally every time its 2 circles and a square you just have to pick the square? you guys are fucking dumb lol

If you're on a phone you have to do that 3 times, but it's still pretty easy.
>>
>>217394158
It's tedious enough to be annoying. I don't want to do it. There was nothing wrong with the old one. Bots couldn't solve it. Why change it? I post a lot, so now I'm spending more time looking at shapes than reading people's posts. It's fucking annoying and it's making me not want to post anymore.
>>
>>217394158
its different when making a post.

It's an IQ test. Sub-80 IQ Indian shills are incapable of passing it.

I just want to post and relax, I don't want to do puzzles that force me to concentrate every time I post. I almost considered buying a 4chan pass until I realized the site actually was dying.

It’s really fucking gay. I’ve definitely started posting less. And you’re right, it’s not about how difficult they are intellectually. They’re just a pain in the ass.
>>
Now do you see why Hiro got rid of the unique poster counter? He doesn't want you to know that there are far less people posting here than you think there are. I'm only here because I have a 4chan pass from way back and once it runs out I'm never posting again.

Overall I'm very supportive of making it more difficult for phone users to post it just gets a little annoying specifically when I'm out watching sports or at home in my living room and I don't feel like bringing my laptop out just to shitpost on /sp/. It just sucks because these are the exact situations where posting quickly in reaction to live events is relevant lol. I'll happily just enjoy my sports more in the moment if it means less low effort phone posting.
>The actual desktop captchas I get are piss easy. It's always pick the triangle instead of the two rectangles tier. I'm convinced anyone actually complaining about this is a phone poster.
>>
>>217395838
Like someone else said, it’s entirely a cookies thing. I phone post only and I only have to solve one puzzle to post.
>>
Posting regularly gives me easy ones. Making a thread gives me ones where I actually have to think.
>>
>>217395917
Making a thread more difficult was the main purpose of the new system. Slowing down repeat ban evaders is a good thing.
>>
>>217392370
Shits real retarded sir. My ipad mini only needs me to solve one, my ipad pro needs all three, and my desktop needs 5 and it might add a couple more on at the end if you take too long.
>>
the thing i dont like about the new captcha system is that it has nothing to do with stopping bots and as others have said above was only implemented to train AI for a company that pays 4chan for x amount of solved captchas/the data they generate
>>
I had a captcha fuck up on me 11 times. When I was putting it in correctly, it was fucking stupid.
>>
>>217395953
That has always been the purpose of services like this. Sorry to break it to you.
>>
>>217393084
How to solve it (step-by-step, human-friendly)

Start at the outer opening
There is a single gap in the outermost ring (near the bottom). Enter there.

Rule of thumb:

Always follow the corridor forward.

When you encounter a radial opening (a short straight cut inward or outward), take it.

Ignore long circular paths unless they are your only option.

General movement pattern

You will alternate between:

moving around the circle, and

stepping one ring inward through a short straight passage.

Each inward step brings you closer to the center.

Key insight

You never need to choose between multiple branches.

Every radial break is intentional and leads inward eventually.

If you ever feel like you’re looping endlessly, you missed a small inward connector.

Final approach

Near the center, the rings get tighter.

Follow the last inward connector and you’ll reach the central circle, which is the exit.

In short

Enter circle take inward cut circle take inward cut repeat center.

something about these capchas gives me weird notstalgic dream flashbacks. i don't know if it's the 4 point stars... maybe they're like somr old chocolates they used to have or the star they used to have on top of a christmas tree, could be why because i found myself back in 1995 christmas morning after doing too many capchas
